Ⅰ、课程性质与设置目的要求

“英语口语”是江苏省高等教育自学考试英语专业专科阶段的必考课程,是一门专门培养英语口语表达和交际能力的单项技能课。其主要任务是,通过围绕语言功能和一定的话题开展技能训练,使考生能就日常生活中的一般情景进行恰当的交谈,能就社会生活中一般的话题进行连贯的发言和讨论,要求能确切表达思想,语音语调基本正确,语言基本准确、得体、流畅。通过本课程的学习,考生应达到普通高等院校英语专业基础阶段的水平。设置本课程的具体目的是,自学者通过读和听获取知识、信息及语言,经过思维,在原有知识及语言的基础上对所获得的内容和语言进行加工和重组,并赋予新的内容,然后口头输出,从而完

成交际的全过程。

Ⅱ、课程内容及考核目标

一、课程内容

本课程的学习内容主要围绕本课程的指定教材《英语中级口语》(Oral Workshop:Discussion)。全书共35课。每一课

的主要学习内容包括:

1、课文录音。听录音,做笔记;模仿语音语调,并根据笔

记复述课文内容。

2、学习课文Text A和Text B及其注释(Notes)、词语

(Phrases)和相关的词语表达(Related Words and Expressions),并就课文内容回答问题(Question on Text A &

Text B)

3、看图说话(Related Picture)

4、补充信息(Additional Information)

5、讨论题(Discussion)

6、扮演角色(Role playing)或解决问题(Problem Solving)

7、句型、词组与词汇(Language Devices)

二、考核目标

本课程的考核主要围绕上述学习内容,考核目标和具体要求

如下:

1、课文录音

能模仿课文录音磁带的语音语调,并较为流畅地朗读课文,单音基本清楚、正确,能较好地使用重音、连续、不完全爆破、

节律和升降调等朗读技巧。听录音,做笔记,并能根据笔记复述

课文内容。

2、学习课文

学习并掌握课文内容及其主要词语和表达方法,用正确的语言回答练习中提出的所有问题,最后用10-15句话总结课文大

意。

3、看图说话

运用所提供的词汇和短语,就图片内容、图中人物形象以及考生所认为的人物内心活动提出问题,并回答。然后,对图片内

容用10-15句话进行总结。

4、补充信息

用10-15句话复述补充课文的内容大意。

5、讨论题

根据所给问题的提示,运用练习中提供的句型、词组与词汇,回答练习中的问题,每题长度可在10-15句话之间。力求陈述

自己的观点。

6、扮演角色或解决问题

考生应能根据练习要求,扮演课文中某一角色,完成练习规定的任务或解决练习中提出的问题。

7、句型、词组与词汇

模仿所列句型造句,并尽量在完成上述练习中运用这些句

型,基本掌握其用法。

一、关于课程内容和考试目标

以上列出的课程学习内容和考核目标,将作为考生学习和考试命题的主要依据。考生应围绕本课程的指定教材,按要求全面系统地学习和掌握全书每一课的主要学习内容。口语考试是对应试者英语口头表达和交际能力的测试。考生应通过英语口语自学考试教材的自学自练,能够用基本准确、得体的英语进行口头表达和交际活动。考试命题范围将主要围绕教材学习内容,以教材所涉及的主题为中心和重点,同时包括有关考生个人背景、日常生活、工作学习、兴趣爱好等方面的内容。命题应根据考核目标来把握试题的知识能力层次和难易程序。

二、关于自学教材和学习方法

本课程所指定的教材为《英语中级口语》(Oral Workshop:Discussion)吴帧福主编,外语教学与研究出版社。

本课程以训练口头语言表达为目的,是一门基本技能课程。考生自学过程中,勤学苦练是成功的关键。考生应以教材为本,掌握与教材专题有关的一定数量的词汇、习惯表达法和句型,注意学习如何在一定的场合恰当得体地进行运用。然后通过反复听录音,模仿语音语调,读背课文,口头回答问题,复述课文,口头归纳总结等多种形式的自我练习,掌握教材内容,获得相应的口语表达能力。另外还要利用一切可能的机会使用英语,如向他人转述自己的所见所闻,与同学、朋友、外宾等进行英语交谈,

逐步在口语实践中学好口语。

三、关于考试形式、内容和成绩评定

1、考试形式、内容。英语口语考试的形式是口试。英语答

题。考试分三部分。

第一部分:朗读短文并根据短文内容回答问题。

要求考生考前用大约10分钟的时间仔细阅读一篇约250个英语单词的短文,考试时按考官指示朗读短文中的某一段落,然后回答考官就该短文内容提出的几个问题。考生回答提问时不允

第二部分:口头作文

要求考生就所给题目或图片,准备1分钟,然后作大约2分钟的连续性发言。题目或图片所涉及的内容与教材中的课文或

专题有关。

第三部分:讨论

要求考生就所给题目或图片,略做半分钟的准备,然后展开2-3分钟的讨论。题目或图片所涉及的内容与教材中的课文或

专题有关。

每次考试时间约为8-10分钟/人。

2、成绩评定。英语口语考试的评分以百分制计算,100分为满分,60分为及格。评分分为四部分。前三部分的评分主要看考生的回答内容是否正确、准确、完整;第四部分的评分主要从语言表达方式的角度评估考生回答问题、陈述和讨论时的口语表现。各部分分值及评分标准简述如下:

Part One:Read aloud the text in italics and answer 4 questions(20%)。其中朗读占4分,每个问题各占4分。满分为20分。朗读主要看考生朗读时的语音语调(如单词发音、强读、弱读、连读、不完全爆破、升降调、节奏等)和流畅度。

回答问题主要看考生的回答内容是否正确、准确、完整。

Part Two:Mini - presentation(20%)。所谈内容的思想性和完整性各占10分。满分为20分。内容的思想性即看考生所谈内容是否紧扣主题,完整性则看考生能否围绕主题展开陈

述,回答是否全面、完整。

Part Three:Discussion(20%)。所讨论内容的相关性和扩展性各占10争。满分为20分。

Part Four:Oral discourse performance(40%)。该部分主要从语篇的角度评价考生完成以上三部分内容时的口语表现。

分“语音语调”(Pronunciation&intonation)、“词汇语法”

(Gram-marr&vocabulary)、“话语运用”(Discourse management)和“互动交流”(Interactive communication)四项,每项各占10分。共40分。其中

“语音语调”主要评估考生回答问题和陈述时的语音语调是否正确、自然(如单词发音、强读、弱读、连读、不完全爆破、升

降调、节奏等)以及流畅度。

“词汇语法”主要评估考生回答问题和陈述时所使用的词汇和

语法是否准确、恰当,以及词汇和句法是否丰富。

“话语运用”主要评估考生回答问题和陈述时的逻辑、连贯性

以及陈述的长度和完整性。

“互动交流”主要评估考生回答问题和陈述时与主考教师的互动交流技巧,如听力理解和快速反应能力、自我纠错能力、解释说明能力、听与说的角色转换能力、话题拓展能力以及体态语表

达能力等。

以上四部分成绩之和,为“英语口语”课程的总评成绩。满分

为100分。

Christmas Cards and Celebrations

The practice of exchanging Christmas cards became a widespread custom in the 19th century. Europeans had

distributed woodprints of religious themes for Christmas during the Middle Ages. In 1843 English illustrator John Callcott Horsley created the first modern Christmas card. The card depicted a family celebration and its words read,“A Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year to You.”In the United States,German - born printer Louis Prang made advances in color lithography(平版印刷术)that enabled him to mass produce a colorful Christmas card in 1875. The card sold

extremely well,and soon the custom of exchanging Christmas cards spread throughout the country.

Most people who celebrate Christmas also participate in special holiday activities in their homes. Families often

decorate evergreen trees and place colorfully wrapped presents beneath them. A family member might read passages from the Bible. Or families might gather around the television to watch old movie favorites or holiday cartoons. Each year ad Christmas approaches,many families attend church gatherings that recount the story of Jesus'birth. On Christmas Eve,children often hang stockings;they awake in the morning to find the stockings filled with gifts from Santa Claus. Many families attend church on Christmas Eve and open their gifts

that evening. Others wait until the next morning to exchange

gifts.
