Step 1 Leading-in
What’s the date today? It’s in December now. Christmas is coming. And I want to have a Christmas party. What do I need for a Christmas party?
1.Give a picture of some bread: Do I need any bread?
2.Give a picture of some fruit and drinks. ( To lead students to use I need some...)
3.Maybe I also need some paper cups. Teach: paper cups Step 2 Presentation & Practice
A: Students in Sunshine Middle School plan to have a Christmas too.
1.Now, let’s look at this picture. Does Kitty need to buy any food for the party? ( To lead students to answer: Yes, she
does. She needs to buy some food.) But, what happens?
2.Show another picture: Does Kitty have any money? ( To lead them to answer that she doesn’t have any money.)
3. Kitty needs to buy some food, but she doesn’t has any money. Let’s look at Millie and Daniel. They are talking about what to buy for the party. Can you use “some” or “any”to complete their conversation? ( SB. P85, on the slide)
4. What do you know about them now? Do they have differences? Choose some students to say something about it. Then to show the similarities and differences on the slide.
5. To show “some”in questions when we are making offers and requests.
