“ We’re Only Human” --读后感
This was the most difficult text which we had learned .Because the language used in the text is quite formal, which puts more weights on the presentation of the author’s ideas. Nowaday people often use escape clause, such as“to err is human”(人非圣贤，孰能无过)，“every man has his fault”（金无足赤，人无完人）,or “I am not perfect”. those are all the excuses for not be condemned or criticized by others. The text let us think deeply into what we have lived for?
First, we should learn the introduction to the text. the present text is an excerpt taken from how could you do that ?! the Abdication of character, courage and conscience. a book based on the author’s conversations with her radio callers. The definition of “ Human” is “belonging to or concerning people ,especially as opposed to animals or machines ” in my opinion, in order to be a true man, three qualities are necessary, which can be classified as the 3C’s :character, courage and conscience. The structure of the article can be divided into 4 parts. Let me analyze it one by one, what I had learned from the text.
The first part explains altruism is representative of mankind in terms of moral observance. (1). We can see clashing definitions of humanity occurs the classic film. Yes ,that’s quite right! I think one way to improve our English is to see the foreign movie. I remembered when we learned Lesson two “discovery of a father”, our teacher asked us to find a proud, silent, dignified man from the movie which we had seen. That’s helpful and useful to expand our sight. (2). “While natural selection did shape our minds …or “survival of the me”That is the only one sentence in paragraph 3, but it is difficult for us to understand ,so we should break up this long sentence into simple ones. It’s paraphrase is that while natural selection did form out our minds and feelings that lead us to be able ,if we are not willing to ,we just need to take some actions to go beyond “survival of the fittest “or “survival of the me”, by doing so our life is meaningful.
The second part illustrates how character is the human source of pleasure. The first C “character” can be defined as “what you are when no one else is looking.” Then Tina’s story is a good example show us how character function. “Honesty is the best policy”(做人一诚信为本). However, Jack(Tina’s husband) having little “character”. So Tina considered a divorce. This part I can understand , because the story is quite common.
The third part describes the importance of courage for human moral development. I am very appreciate this sentence “courage is to life what broth is to soup”, Something is to something what something is to something. That’s very specific. If I have chance, I will use this structure to describes something is important.
The fourth part profoundly and comprehensively explains how conscience works in human morality. It’s said that “pleasure is an event;happiness is a process. Pleasure is an end point; happiness is the journey ; pleasure is material; happiness is spiritural. Pleasure is self-involved; happiness is outer-and other –involved.” Why? Does “pleasure” not equal to “happiness”? Although I am not sure the meaning of those sentences’ meanings, I think the author’s idea is that we should beware the pleasure principle.
In a word, we have always to keep these 3C’s in minds, and try our best to achieve these in our everyday life and true to be a real human. After that our life will be more corlorful and wonderful!
《我们只不过是人》读后感：
1.这篇文章的确花费了我们许多时间去学习，学习过后真的让我反思，这篇文章引起大家的共鸣，更确切点是说出了社会问题，好象真的说到自己身边的事情了。

我们为何而生？我们总为自己辩护，找托词，甚至推卸责任，具有了人格，勇气，良心的人才能应对内心的争斗。

2.我觉得这篇文章的结构布局不错，在说3C的各个概念前有个小标题，让读者易于理解。

3..当学习完以后，多读几遍课文，更易于理解与记忆。

4.个别单词的用法：如blueprint的意思，把他翻译为plan or ambition 就比较容易理解了，以后遇到不懂的可以用这种方法。

5.个别短语用法：如leap a faith,更需要我们平时词汇的扩长。

6.我以后得多看电影，方便理解外国文化。

7．我也学会了做人的道理，好人一生平安。
