Common mistake during presentation to the class: Talking for too long Reporting only your view of the view you find more relevant/interesting (even if the group came up with a different position) Reporting only points where the group reached an agreement Reformulating the results in a way that does not reflect the group findings or modifies its meaning/interpretation significantly Not being ready and doing an unclear sum up of the discussion Speaking to low, too fast, not articulating

What to do / How to do it? Remember you are the discussion leader not just the facilitator. you need to guide the group discussion and report but also to contribute in terms of content (without dominating or influencing). Lead by example: be friendly, focused, positive, listen and contribute actively, allow/invite everyone to participate As a starting point, make sure everyone can present his/her own preparation/results Manage time and focus: Agree on a time set and target (ex: 2 minutes on this point, get the synthesis ready at hh:mm) and stick to it If discussion is getting nowhere: remind your group the time is limited and propose to move to the next point (it is ok to say during the presentation that no agreement or solution could be reached for this question, as long as you briefly explain why)
