Since the industrial revolution beginning in England, it has changed the world greatly and widely. At that time, regrettably, we closed our doors to the other countries from the Qing dynasty. Because we didn't have advanced technology ,we suffered from aggression after aggression and lived with defeat after defeat. I fell very happy to be here today to share with you some of my thoughts on the topic of a word that has changed the world.And the word I give is technology.
It's very common that you could see some student on campus talking to their friends and surfing the Internet via their cell phone or lap top. Cell phone,PC,TV,GPS,air conditioner,all these inventions are almost everywhere. We can't imagine what our lives will be without these products. Ladies and gentleman, this is such a rapid change that we couldn't even keep pace with it. People who lived 10 years ago would never believe that someone use their cell phone to publish their micro blogs while traveling in a high-speed train.Although we enjoy a comfortable modern life today, we can't assure what life will be 10 years later. Ladies and gentleman. A lot of people are devoting their lives to technology.Just as the founder of Apple,Mr. Steve Jobs said:"To live is to change the world".
As we enjoyed the benefits that the technology brings to us,we have to accept the shortcomings that technology has.It's also very common to see that sky has been polluted in China mainland,the wastes water was disposed into the rivers constantly.And people's health has been negatively effect because of the pollution.People don't feel happier
than before.Therefore,environment protection has become an important project in the past few years.In 1972,Sustainable Development was put forward at the United Nations.And now,this word is pretty well known among publics. Governments,some social associations and organizations are taking actions to establish a harmonious relationship between human race and nature.
