我们应该被允许自己做决定英语作文

The Right to Make Our Own DecisionsIn the modern era, the concept of individual freedom and autonomy has gained significant importance. One of the fundamental aspects of this freedom is the right to make our own decisions. The ability to choose our path, shape our destiny, and determine our actions is integral to our sense of self and well-being. However, this right is often hindered by external factors such as societal pressures, cultural norms, and legal restrictions. This essay explores the significance of being allowed to make our own decisions and the impact it has on our lives.Firstly, the right to make our own decisions is fundamental to our development as individuals. It fosters a sense of agency and responsibility, enabling us to take ownership of our actions and outcomes. When we are given the freedom to choose, we are more likely to engageactively in life, take risks, and pursue our passions. This process of self-discovery and self-actualization is crucial for our personal growth and fulfillment. Moreover, allowing individuals to make their own decisions fosters a culture of diversity and inclusivity. When everyone is given a voice and the power to act ontheir beliefs, it creates a richer, more dynamic society. This diversity in thought and action leads to innovation, creativity, and progress. It also helps to build a more empathetic and understanding world, where different perspectives are valued and respected. However, the right to make our own decisions is not always respected. Often, societal pressures and expectations can limit our choices. For instance, gender roles and stereotypes can restrict women's career choices and ambitions. Similarly, racial and ethnic discrimination can prevent certain groups from accessing opportunities and making decisions that align with their interests. Legal restrictions and government interference can also limit our freedoms, infringing on our right to make independent choices.Furthermore, the media and social media platforms often shape our opinions and decisions. The constant stream of information and opinions can influence our views and choices, sometimes without us even realizing it. This can lead to a situation where we are not making trulyindependent decisions but are merely following trends or societal norms.Despite these challenges, it is crucial that we striveto maintain our right to make our own decisions. We need to be vigilant about the external factors that may influence our choices and make conscious efforts to think critically and independently. We should also support and encourage others to exercise their right to decide, creating a more inclusive and empathetic society. In conclusion, the right to make our own decisions is integral to our personal growth, development, and fulfillment. It fosters a culture of diversity, inclusivity, and innovation. While we face challenges and limitations in exercising this right, it is crucial that we continue to strive for it, protecting and promoting our freedoms as individuals.**我们应有的自主权:自己决定自己的生活**在现今社会,个体自由与自主性的概念已经变得至关重要。

2、Should I be allowed to make my own decisions?
Many teenagers have hobbies. But sometimes these hobbies can get in the way of schoolwork, and parents might worry about their child’s success at school. Teenagers often think they should be allowed to practice their hobbies as much as they want. Do you agree?
Liu Yu, a fifteen-year-old from Shandong, is a running star. He is in his school running team and has always wanted to be a professional athlete. However, his parents won’t allow him to train as much as he would like to. “Of course we want to see Liu Yu achieve his dreams,” says Mr Liu, “and we know how much he loves running. That’s great, and my wife and I have watched him in every one of his races. We have nothing against running! But we do think that our son needs to be realistic. Now he is getting older, and he needs to think about what will happen if he doesn’t become a professional runner in the end.”
Liu Yu doesn’t really agree. “Well, I think I should be allowed to make decisions for myself.” he says. “My parents have always taught me the importance of working hard and not just to do what I enjoy. I understand this. But I’m serious about running. Being a professional runner is the only thing I have ever wanted to do.”
Mr and Mrs Liu believe that Liu Yu should study hard in the evenings, and so they don’t allow him to practice running on school nights. “I know this might seem strict,” says Mrs Liu, “but we think we’re doing the right thing. He has to understand that very few people can become professi onal athletes. It’s a very difficult dream to achieve. We don’t allow him to practice every day because we think he needs to spend time on his homework.”But Liu Yu still doesn’t agree. “I know my parents care about me,” he says. “But they are always talking about what will happen if I don’t succeed! But I will succeed! I think I should be allowed to make this decision for myself. Only then will I have a chance of achieving my dream.”。
