本单元学习的主题主要是通过学习的知识来描述动物的特征。
二、单元信息单元分为Story time、Grammar time、Fun time、Sound time、Culture time、Cartoon time、Checkout time、Ticking time八部分组成。
主要学“如何描述动物的特点”这个话题。
在教学上，对本单元内容进行整合以及重组，分为四个课时进行教授。
1.Story time，是一篇阅读文章，主要介绍Nancy, Mike, Liu Tao和Su Yang他们的动物朋友。
主要描述动物有什么特点，在教学时作为一个课时按照阅读课进行教授。
并且伴随相应的阅读训练。
2.Grammar time&Fun time, 这两个部分作为一课时按照语法课进行教授，主要讲解have、has的用法以及do、does引导的一本疑问句和回答。
并让同学们区分第三人称单数和非第三人称单数。
Fun time 主要是关于对话练习，对所学语法知识置于对话中进行练习巩固。
3.Culture time&Cartoon time，这两个部分作为一课时按照对话课进行教授。
Culture time主要是讲述不同国家有什么比较代表性的动物，让同学们了解文化之间的差异。
Cartoon time是一篇对话，主要讲述了Sam和Bobby遇见了一只螃蟹发生的事情。

Sound time主要教授字母u在单词中发短音，让学生学习u字母的一种自然拼读规则。
Checkout time属于复习，通过描述农场中的动物来复习本单元知识点。
Ticking time主要是让学生评测一下自己本单元的学习情况。
