The King's Speech

战时演讲词(英文原文)The King's SpeechIn this grave hour, perhaps the most fateful in history, I send to every household of my peoples, both at home and overseas, this message, spoken with the same depth of feeling for each one of you as if I were able to cross your threshold and speak to you myself. For the second time in the lives of most of us, we are at war.Over and over again, we have tried to find a peaceful way out of the differences between ourselves and those who are now our enemies; but it has been in vain.We have been forced into a conflict, for which we are called, with our allies to meet the challenge of a principle which, if it were to prevail, would be fatal to any civilized order in the world. It is a principle which permits a state in the selfish pursuit of power to disregard its treaties and its solemn pledges, which sanctions the use of force or threat of force against the sovereignty and independence of other states.Such a principle, stripped of all disguise, is surely the mere primitive doctrine that might is right, and if this principle were established through the world, the freedom of our own country and of the whole British Commonwealth of nations would be in danger. But far more than this, the peoples of the world would be kept in bondage of fear, and all hopes of settled peace and of security, of justice and liberty, among nations, would be ended. This is the ultimate issue which confronts us. For the sake of all that we ourselves hold dear, and of the world order and peace, it is unthinkable that we should refuse to meet the challenge. It is to this high purpose that I now call my people at home and my peoples across the seas, who will make our cause their own.I ask them to stand calm and firm and united in this time of trial. The task will be hard. There may be dark days ahead, and war can no longer be confined to the battlefield, but we can only do the right as we see the right, and reverently commit our cause to God. If one and all we keep resolutely faithful to it, ready for whatever service or sacrifice it may demand, then with God's help, we shall prevail.May He bless and keep us all.[3]。

影评范文精选15篇七年级英语《国王的演讲》(The King’s Speech)范文1King George VI was the king in England in 1945, he encouraged British people in second World to fight Hitler by his exciting speech. But do you know, king George VI had a stuttering problem, before he became a king, he just couldn’t say any word in front of crowd. Because of his amazing change, people made a film about him <King’s speech>.<King Speech> was a new take in the movie, this movie made from real story, it is different from the movie that was not real, and the focus was not on the good or bad plot. It is the changing that the King George VI went through. In the movie, Albert (the name of the king) can not say any word in front of the crowd. Albert wanted to change his stuttering, he found many doctors to help him, but all the doctors can’t help with his stuttering. Then one day, Albert’s wife found a strange man. He can treat stuttering, so Albert came to his place, then both men tried their best, when Albertbecame a king, he can talk very well. One of my favorite characters was the doctor that help King George VI, it was a funny and strange man, he won’t flatter when he saw the king, he wanted to have equal dialogue with the king, he was a man of principle, but he can do well in treatment stuttering, and he also can be a very good friend, because those good characters this man had, I love the man very much.In this movie, we can learn many things, the most important thing is: people can change their bad thing by their studying, when you are not good enough, you can study, then being better. If you have enough time at weekend, I think you can watch that movie.范文2The King’s speech talks about a king gave many inspiring speeches at the World War II, it was the king’s voice that encouraged others. But before he could make a speech so great, he was a stammerer. But how can that be? That was amazing! This movie was made from a real story. When George V died, George VIII gave up the throne, Bertie instead of him became a new king——George V. But he needed to surmount many hinderances like he must give speeches well. Finally, he became a real king. One of my favorite characters was Bertie. At first, he couldn’t say any word well, that made him depressed, he tried to see many doctors to cure his sickness, but it doesn’t work. No one could fix it. Bertie felt so bad, he always couldn’t say well. But what the most important thing was he always has the hope in his life. The other one of my favorite characters was the doctor, he was very special, because he was different from the others. The other doctors used many common means, But this doctor put science, medicine and psychology together. He knew the real useful means to treat him. He always can make Bertie feel relaxed. They are not only the doctor and patients, they are also the friends, Time after time, Bertie can speak better. This doctor helped Bertie came out of his childhood’s shadow, and go to the light. This doctor was really good and special. Atlast, because of this doctor’s help, Bertie can make very good speech. they kept their friendship a lifelong time.I like the doctor very much, too. Sometimes when you meet the problem, if you also meet the person who is like the doctor, then you are so lucky. He can make you come out of the shadow, and being better. If you meet some problems in your life, then you can watch this movie.范文3<the King’s Speech> tells the story of the Duke with a severe stammer who after the death of his predecessor and the departure of another king, he becomes to the king and needs to have a speech when World War II begins. In the film, the King who suffered from a severe stuttering, is always depressed about his own problem. His wife went to see the doctor in order to help him stop stuttering. He didn’t like the doctor at first, but then he found himself very happy after listening to music and even reading Shakespeare’s works aloud. Although he wentthrough many difficulties later on, he still excellently finished the inspiring speech in the end.My favorite part of the movie is the part about King Albert and the Doctor Logue. Albert’s question is he has tried a lot of ways and seen a lot of doctors, nothing worked. But then he met Logue, While his brother was still in power, he was very angry about his brother for abandoning the country. But Logue saw that he would make a good king. So Logue kept trying to tell him to be brave. This Logue helped Albert along the way. both as a doctor and as a friend. He helped Albert go through all of the difficulties, and in this movie, my favorite character is the doctor Logue. This film is very inspiring, because it is a real story, and it’s talking about a story of overcome difficulties, I think, it’s necessary to have a look.范文4Today I watched a movie called The King’s Speech. It’s about a prince, his name is George. His brother was supposedto be a king, but her brother married an illegal wife, so George was going to be a king. But he didn’t want to be a king because he stuttered. He has hot a lot of laughing in his first speech. So he went to see many many doctors, and finally he found a doctor named Lionel. At first their contact was not very good, but he really had no choice, so he went to see the doctor again. This time they talked quite well, and soon they were successful in their training and became good friends. In his first speech as a king, he succeeded with the help of the doctor. He succeeded in overcoming his stuttering. In this movie, my favorite character is the stuttered king.I think the king is very courageous and very persistent. My favorite part is the king’s speech, he succeeded in doing the speech with the help of the doctor. At that time, I feel like I am going to shout how exciting it is! It’s like I was successful in life, we should learn more from him and learn his spirit of perseverance.范文5Today, I watched a movie, it’s called the King’sSpeech, it was a very exciting movie, but it was very interesting. It talks about a prince who had stuttering, because he is a king’s son. So he had many speeches. But he can’t say any word in the public, that makes his people very disappointed. And came many doctors to cure his stuttering. But they all didn’t make it. And his wife found another doctor. she let the king see him. At first, the king didn’t believe the doctor will cure his stuttering, but he did visit him, then the doctor told the king, the king cooperated with the doctor to cure his stuttering, and finished his important speech, to be the king of the country. In the movie, I like the one who helped the king to overcome his stuttering, because I think he is very kind to help the king. He has many ways, he didn’t give up when the king gave up himself, he tried to convince the king, and in his mind, everyone is equal, the king is no better than him, his ideas made it easier for him to talk and cure the king. Finally, he also told the king to go on. So that the king has the courage to be the real king, it was him who gave the king the courage to stand on platformand speak. The protagonist is the king and the doctor. In fact, there is a supporting actress and she is important, too. It’s the king’s wife she is the one who sent the king to doctor, that’s why we have the story. And this story also tells us when you want to have something, you have to work on it. That’s why the king successful completed his speech, and won the love of his people.范文6This movie tells a true story. Albert is not good at speaking, he doesn’t have a good speaking skill, then he went to see a lot of doctors, but it’s not good. Then he met another doctor, the doctor let him read the Shakespeare with music, when he had found that he really did it. Finally, Albert spoke in public in World War II, in the end he became a real king. I think it’s a very good movie, he told us, if you have difficulty you can’t go back, you have to go on to help yourself.I like the doctor very much, he is different from other doctors, what is more important is that he brings courage to others, he makes a person better, this is the most differentthing from other doctors.范文7Yesterday, I watched a movie that was called the King’s Speech, It has been written by a real story from the British of 21th century. It was about the British King George VI, and it happened around 1925~1940. The main character was Duke of York (Albert Johnson), he has got stammer trouble since his childhood, When he gave speeches he can’t talk fluently. His wife searched many doctors but they can’t cure Albert’s stammering problem. At last, a friend of his wife introduced her a therapist, called Lionel Rogge, he used a special way to “cure” Albert’s stammer. Finally, Albert became King George VI, when he gave speeches this time, he didn’t stammer.I like two characters in this movie: George VI and Lionel. Actually, George VI was a good general in army, He is good atfighting in the battlefield, but he must do the things he didn’t like. He actually did not want to be a king. and king must speak in the public, he can’t do it! When he was young, he was abused by nanny and he had some body problems. And he wore a form to correct his problemed leg. This made him very unconfident. He can talk very good when he had conversation with his family, he only can’t speak well in public. The way I like him is he always tried his hard, with Lionel’s help, he overcame his trouble. We should learn the way he was successful. The second character is Lionel, He was a therapist of Albert, he not only let Albert practice talking, but also motivate him to be confident as a king, cause his confident is more important than talking in public. He wanted to have equal conversations with Albert, because he was a man of principle. It’s not only for the way he cured Albert, this is the real reason why he was so fierce, that’s why I like him. What I learned from this movie is: if you want to do something better, you must have confidence and courage, it also reminds me that talking fluently is important, too. So we need to improve our conversation skills.范文8I watched the King’s Speech yesterday. This is a real story. It tells George VI cured a stammering with Lionel. After the first treatment, Lionel let George know he can speak very fluently. This earned his trust, then they kept in touch, George VI allowed Lionel to do all kinds of training. During this time, his father died. He became the king in stead of his brother, because his brother did not want to inherit the throne. In the end, the latest king is him. At this point, he broke up with Lionel, but in the first speech, Lionel still provided him with the help. From beginning to end, the speech is perfect. This marks not only a victory for the king, but also a victory for Lionel. In this movie, I like Lionel very much. I think he is kind and clever, because he saw some people came back from the war. They can’t speak, he helped them with stuttering, and he thought of ideas with stuttering, that is amazing and unbelievable, so I think he is kind and clever. This movie let me know nothing can defeat yourself, and let me have the power. It’s perfect!范文9George VI – the king of British, after his father died, his brother David became the new king of the British. But being a king is not David’s goal. He fell in love with a woman called Wallis, David wanted to marry Wallis and have a free life. So he gave his place to his brother Bertie (George VI).But George had mechanical difficulties with speech. So he did much to fix the problem. But on one can fix it. One day, Bertie met Lionel, at first, he felt only hopeless, he left there angrily, but after that he began to follow Lionel’s instructions, he did everything as Lionel said. Lionel began to relax Bertie’s jaw muscles, and strengthen his tongue. “ Alllloooouuuuuu…”“Ale Ale Ale Ale…”After a long time of hard working, Bertie was getting well on his speech. After his father died. After he becomes the king. Now, German Nazis started the World War II, and the king must inspire his people to fight with Germany and protected British. He must make a speech. It was very difficult for Bertie to make a war speech. But with Lionel’s help, he made it! Bertie had perfect done the speech and had more and more confidence to face other speeches. Bertie really felt like a king, and his brother was proud of him, too. After the speech, Lionel was with Bertie every wartime speech, and they remained friends for their rest life.“Only those who respect themselves can be respected by others.”范文10哈利波特影评Harry Potter is a series of seven fantasy novels written by British author J.K.Rowling.The books chronicle the adventures of the eponymous adolescent wizard HarryPotter, together with Ron Weasley and Hermione Granger, his best friends. The central story arc concerns Harry's struggle against the evil wizard Lord Voldemort, who killed Harry's parents in his quest to conquer the wizarding world, after whichhe seeks to subjugate the Muggle (non-magical) world to his rule.范文11后天影评Today,we watched a movie, the name of this movie was called:The day after tomorrow. What this movie speaks BE:A world happened to become cold affairs in the world,What to broadcast it is an etc.the region temperature nasty play in New York to descend in the movie,is almost each to descend more than ten degree. The sky still descends terrible hail, also having more afraid of ofTornado, city in New York became to break city for an instant after being cut through by tornado, making the whole city become more without results one. This really lets the person touch eyes shocking, make the person's heart can't fall calm once in a very longwhile, although exaggerate very in the movie, but we now not just so:world become warm...So ask the classmates to rise from the do-it-yourself,environmental protection, make our environments more beautiful!范文12阿凡达影评Avatar is directed by James Cameron. The two main characters are Jake Sully, played by Sam Worthington, and Neytiri, played by Zoe Saldana.Clones named Avatars are sent to Pandora Planet to persuade people there to leave the planet so that human beings can exploit a rare mineral.Jake is sent there to control his Avatar. However,he comes across Neytiri and they fall in love with each other.Jake begins to see that nature and the planet should be protected. At last he and the people there work together to defeat human beings and send them back to the earth.3D technology and the beautiful natural scenery are the two highlights of the film. The message of the film is simple —human beings should protect nature and live in harmony with it.范文13阿甘正传影评Forrest Gump is so unique because of the character Forrest Gump himself, who has a low IQ of only 75.I love that Forrest doesn't lose his innocence and purity throughout the movie,or maybe he just can't but either way, this shows you don't needto be evil or really intelligent to be recognised or successful. It is just a movie,so maybe it doesn't work like that in reality. What that simply means is that the acting and story of this film was incredibly touching on a real level. And in my definition that's what a good movie should be able to do.范文14《战狼2》Wolf Warriors II is an action movie directed by Wu Jing. 国王的演讲英文观后感影评5篇Rarely do you get to see a movie that promises a lot and then, lives up to its promise. The Kings Speech is a rare piece, indeed.下面是的小编为你们整理的文章,希望你们能够喜欢国王的演讲英语影评A Film Review of The Kings Speech I have seen many movies, and The Kings Speech is one of the best movies. In 2011, the British filmtook four awards at the Academy Award, including Best Picture. It is an extraordinary film.Duke of York, Albert, the second son of King GeorgeⅤ, was asked to make a speech in The British Empire Exhibition in 1925. But he had stutter, he couldnt say fluently, so he made a fool in public. After that, Albert and his wife Elizabeth began to find a doctor who is able to help Albert. But nobody succeeded. Until 1934, they met Dr. Lionel Logue. Nearly despair Albert began to try Logues strange way. In the meantime, in 1936,King GeorgeⅤdied, and Alberts brother David was the new king, King Edward VIII. But David wanted to marry Mrs.Simpson who divorced a man, so he abdicated. Albert wasthe new king, King George VI. In 1939, Adolf Hitler invaded Poland, Britain declared war on Germany. King George VI must make a speech to British people. With Logues help, King George VI finished the exciting speech excellently. The movie is touching, I like it very much, it is educational, too. It shows me the power of trust, friendship and love.国王的演讲英文影评The movie starts off with a stammering speech and signs off with a staggering one, with hardly any glitches in between. The basic premise of the movie is fairly simple. A king with a stutter is helped by a maverick speech therapist to overcome his problem and become an inspiring orator. That sounds like a very known territory to most movie goers. But few minutes into the movie, and you realize that this one simply pushes the bar a notch higher. It is a very pleasing movie, doesnt lead the audience into a lot ofuncomfortable questions. However, the artistry lies in the overall balance of the movie. You slowly start getting gripped by David Seidlers screenplay. The actors are superb, takes it slow and steady with superb grip on each of their characters. While Colin Firth puts in a spectacular performance (one youcant miss), Geoffrey Rush goes a bit more old school and pulls off a subtle and deep portrayal. One that fills up your heart but also keeps your brain active. Humor comes in here and there, with a very easy flow and steady pace. Not for a single moment do you perceive the movie as dull. Helena Bonham Carter is good. Guy Pearce is appropriate, though he does look a bit too casual at times (maybe that was an intentional character flaw). Most of the movie had been filmed indoors, albeit with eloquent art direction. But the occasional sequences shot outside had been filmed very beautifully, portraying a very dreamy picture of the then England. Sometimes, the camera goes in too close to the characters, and stays there for a while, just long enough to give us a sense of suffocation, quite an artistic equivalent of aspeech disorder ! But then again, negative shades had been whitewashed with joyous ones and you never perceive it as a dark movie. Direction wise, Tom Hooper is bang on ! This is the kind of a movie where you want to give a lot of credit to the director. The set-up is such that the dramatic elements are high but needs to be tamed, so that it doesnt goes over board. And Mr.Hooper hits the bulls eye ! Perfect balance. All points considered, its a brilliant movie and a must watch. The King(国王的演讲观后感)英文版The Kings SpeechI just watched the film The Kings Speech several days ago. It told us a quite touching and inspiring story about King George VI ,overcame his stuttering problem. He is the bravest person I have known. Because of the stutteringproblem ,he was afraid of speech in the public places, Fortunately, with the help of a little-known Australian speech therapist named Lionel ,he finally found his voice .What impress me most is the kings giving the speech to the British Nation, which had just inspired all of his people. The king tried his best to overcome his weakness and improve himself. What we can learn from the king is that we should defeat ourselves and try our best to to seek our dreams .When the life choose you,you can not give up,just go ahead ,then you will be successful .Whatever the difficulties youll face ,you should believe yourself .《国王的演讲》英语影评The Kings SpeechIt is a quite inspiring story about a man, psychologicallyscarred, and trapped in a situation from which he could have no escape and facing it with immense courage. The movie starts off with a stammering speech and signs off with a staggering one, with hardly any glitches in between. The film conveyed very powerfully in the opening scene, the enormity of what was required of him. As the film develops, the complexities of the character are revealed. The acting is superb, especially from the three principals, and the development of the troubled and spark relationship at the heart of the film is a joy to watch. The film is very funny and the characters have warmth and humanity. The film is well paced, and carries you along to the emotional climax, so that, even though I knew the story, it had me holding my breath. If you dont need lots of action or special effects in your film, and enjoy seeing top-notch actors at the very peak of their craft, this will be for you. You might also, as I did, gain a bit moreinsight into the human drama behind a significant, but relatively unexplored period of British history.《国王的演讲》英文影评A review of One Flew Over the Cuckoo`s nestThere is a widespread anecdote : A frog is placed in boiling water, it will jump out, but if it is placed in cold water that is slowly heated, it will not perceive the danger and will be cooked to death. This story called The boiling frog .And One Flew Over the Cuckoo`s nest just demonstratses this phenomena.People in the cuckoo`s nest just like this frog who get accustoumed to the life that is schedualled and controlled by others and lose the courage to leave. And it takes a lot to go out this slowly heated water.People in the cuckoo`s nest who are compelled to eat medicine and listen harsh music and are not allowed to watch the ball game are threated badly.Although they always complain about the Cuckoo`s nest ,it never occurred that they want to flew over this disgusting place .They has adapted to the life of being principled ,and their awareness of resistance has died out. When Memurphy comes to there ,he begins to resist the authority of nurse Ralched by claiming to turn down the music and change the schedual to watch the ball gameand bring people outside to go fishing. At last , the chief`s awareness of resistence comes to be aroused and leave this water that is slowly heated successfully. My review of The King`s SpeechThe success of the king`s speech lies in his strong perseverance as well as an equal and trustful relationship has been built between the king and Dr Longue. There is no doubt that the king is a man with a strong will, which is one factor of his success .In order to overcome his stuttering problem,he meets many doctors and suffers a lot,but he always doesn`t give up.At the beginning of the film,he puts up with the suffer of ingr seven marbles, which gets him angry at last.He still goes to see Dr Longue although he has told his wife not to introduce any doctors to him .Besides,he insists on repeating tongue twisters even when he goes out to persuade his brother David.Another factor is that there is a relationship with total equality and trust.Owing to the king is faithful in Lionel,he can accept his special methods without hesitation, such as jumping ,shouting ,rolling on the ground,ect..Due to the equality and trust, the king considers Lionel as his friend, and shares what he has experienced when he was a child and hisfear of his father and brother. So that Lionel gives the king faith in his voice and makes him believe in himself through communication with the king and stimulation by siting on Saint Edward`s chair. Therefore, the king can have courage to give a successful speech and becomes the symbol of nation resistence.。

It must be painful enough for one who stammers to speak to another person. To face a radio microphone and know the British Empire is listening must be terrifying. At the time of the speech mentioned in this title, a quarter of the Earth's population was in the Empire, and of course much of North America, Europe, Africa and Asia would be listening — and with particular attention, Germany. The king was George VI. The year was 1939. Britain was entering into war with Germany. His listeners required firmness, clarity and resolve, not stammers punctuated with tortured silences. This was a man who never wanted to be king. After the death of his father, the throne was to pass to his brother Edward. But Edward renounced the throne "in order to marry the woman I love," and the duty fell to Prince Albert, who had struggled with his speech from an early age.In "The King's Speech," director Tom Hooper opens on Albert (Colin Firth), attempting to open the British Empire Exhibition in 1925. Before a crowded arena and a radio audience, he seizes up in agony in efforts to make the words come out right. His father, George V (Michael Gambon), has always considered "Bertie" superior to Edward (Guy Pearce), but mourns the introduction of radio and newsreels, which require a monarch to be seen and heard on public occasions. At that 1925 speech, we see Bertie's wife, Elizabeth (Helena Bonham Carter), her face filled with sympathy. As it becomes clear that Edward's obsession with Wallis Simpson (Eve Best) is incurable, she realizes her Bertie may face more public humiliation. He sees various speech therapists, one of whom tries the old marbles-in-the-mouth routine first recommended by Demosthenes. Nothing works, and then she seeks out a failed Australian actor named Lionel Logue (Geoffrey Rush), who has set up a speech therapy practice.Logue doesn't realize at first who is consulting him. And one of the subjects of the film is Logue's attitude toward royalty, which I suspect is not untypical of Australians; he suggests to Albert that they get on a first-name basis. Albert has been raised within the bell jar of the monarchy and objects to such treatment, not because he has an elevated opinion of himself but because, well, it just isn't done. But Logue realizes that if he is to become the king's therapist, he must first become his friend. If the British monarchy is good for nothing else, it's superb at producing the subjects of films. "The King's Speech," rich in period detail and meticulous class distinctions, largely sidesteps the story that loomed over this whole period, Edward's startling decision to give up the crown to marry a woman who was already divorced three times. Indeed, the Duke and Duchess of Windsor (as they became) would occupy an inexplicable volume of attention for years, considering they had no significance after the Duke's abdication. The unsavory thing is that Wallis Simpson considered herself worthy of such a sacrifice from the man she allegedly loved. This film finds a more interesting story about better people; Americans, who aren't always expert on British royalty, may not necessarily realize that Albert and wife Elizabeth were the parents of Queen Elizabeth II. God knows what Edward might have fathered.Director Tom Hooper makes an interesting decision with his sets and visuals. The movie is largely shot in interiors, and most of those spaces are long and narrow. That's unusual in historical dramas, which emphasize sweep and majesty and so on. Here we have long corridors, a deep and narrow master control room for the BBC, rooms that seem peculiarly oblong. I suspect he may be evoking the narrow, constricting walls of Albert's throat as he struggles to get words out.The film largely involves the actors Colin Firth, formal and decent, and Geoffrey Rush, large and expansive, in psychological struggle. Helena Bonham Carter, who can be merciless (as in the "Harry Potter" films), is here filled with mercy, tact and love for her husband; this is the woman who became the much-loved Queen Mother of our lifetimes, dying in 2002 at 101. As the men have a struggle of wills, she tries to smooth things (and raise her girls Elizabeth and Margaret). And in the wider sphere, Hitler takes power, war comes closer, Mrs. Simpson wreaks havoc, and the dreaded day approaches when Bertie, as George VI, will have to speak to the world and declare war.Hooper's handling of that fraught scene is masterful. Firth internalizes his tension and keeps the required stiff upper lip, but his staff and household are terrified on his behalf as he marches toward a microphoneas if it is a guillotine. It is the one scene in the film that must work, and it does, and its emotional impact is surprisingly strong. At the end, what we have here is a superior historical drama and a powerful personal one. And two opposites who remain friends for the rest of their lives.。

The King's SpeechIt is a quite inspiring story about a man, psychologically scarred, and trapped in a situation from which he could have no escape and facing it with immense courage. The movie starts off with a stammering speech and signs off with a staggering one, with hardly any glitches in between. If you don't need lots of action or special effects in your film, and enjoy seeing top-notch actors at the very peak of their craft, this will be for you. You might also, as I did, gain a bit more insight into the human drama behind a significant, but relatively unexplored period of British history.。

The King's Speech

Movie Review: The King's SpeechThe first time I watched the film: The King's Speech, I paid more attention to the plot of the film rather than the thinking of it. When the nearly two hours running time expires, I wish there were more minutes to come. Therefore, after that, I watched the film several times. It is undoubtedly a classic movie. Now, in my mind's eye, the King's Speech is my favorite film, and it has exceeded all the others, including The Shawshank Redemption, which was ever my favorite. I am not one of the many of critics or the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences nominators, so I cannot point to what they deem to be magnificent acting, a fine script, classy production design and, for that matter, impressive cinematography, costumes, editing, score and sound-mix. What I learn or think about this film is just three words: persistency, friendship and love. In this movie review, I will focus on these three words.Firstly, I would like to introduce the movie: The King's Speech. Overall, it is undoubtedly a classic movie. At the 83rd Academy Awards, The King's Speech won the Academy Award for Best Picture, Best Director (Hooper), Best Actor (Firth), and Best Original Screenplay (Seidler) and received 12 Oscar nominations, more than any other film this year. This film was a major box office and critical success. From what I mentioned above, we know that the movie earns a good mark and the public think highly of it. Besides, the King's Speech is a biopic of the British King George VI, the father of Queen Elizabeth II. A brief plot of this film is something like that.Prince Albert Frederick Arthur George, Duke of York, the second son of King George V, has been stammering after he was around five-year-old. The Duke has given up hope of a cure, but his wife Elizabeth persuades him to see Lionel Logue, a lower-class Australian speech therapist in London. Because of the death of King George V, and the abdication and renouncement of King Edward VIII (Albert's older brother and the first heir to the throne), Albert accedes as King George VI. After these things, with the help of Lionel Logue and the support of his wife and the persistency of himself, he finally delivers THE KING'S SPEECH, upon the declaration of war with Nazi Germany in September 1939, competent and perfect, which represents not only the climax of the story but the moment in which all the elements come together. The first word I listed above is persistency, which is mainly described the leading character Bertie (Duke's family name), that is, Bertie is strongly persistent from the beginning to the end of the film. Although he is bad-tempered, even rather ill-tempered, and sometimes doesn't face up with his shortcoming very brave, Bertie is always sticking to the principle he holds and the belief he believes, which attracts me a lot. At first, Bertie is reluctant to receive Lionel's treatment. Maybe in part because their knighted doctors' treatments are in vain, Bertie has almost given up hope of a cure. However, after Logue making a bet with Bertie and Bertie realizing the important of broadcasting to the modern monarch in a perilous international situation (after King George V makes his 1934 Christmas radio address, he explains to Bertie the importance of broadcasting to the modern monarch). I remember the scene clearly that King George, his father demands that Bertie has a seat in front of a radio and trains himself, starting with a reading of his father's speech. However, it does not work for anything. Later, when he notices Logue's recording and hears himself unhesitatingly reciting Shakespeare, he decides to receive Logue's treatment. From the film, I feel astonished at the persistency no matter on physical exercises at the initial stage of treatment or later at the psychological roots of the stutter. In themeanwhile, Bertie's confidence and courage also count a lot. I think we can set King George VI as a good example to fight with difficulties. As far as I am concerned, it is not a film just about royalty. This film is more a human story illustrated the precious friendship of Bertie and Logue, which impress me deeply. I once read a book called The Kite Runner written by Khaled Hosseini, at that time, I was totally moved and even cried for the friendship between the two main characters, a Childe and a servant. Two friendships have some in common. The two groups are both in completely differential classes, a childe and a servant, a king and a civil. I almost cried for the sad story in the Kite Runner, but I speak highly of the friendship in the King's Speech, which is rare and commendable. As friends, the high priority is equal in personality. We know that "all men are created equal." Relationships that stand the test of time are based on principles of equality. In this movie, from this part, Logue does a good job. For treatment or equality, Logue is always trying to find a suitable position to be a friend of Bertie. For example, during their first session, Logue breaches royal etiquette by referring to the Prince as "Bertie," a name used by his family, to obtain the equality. Certainly, a friend in need is a friend in deed. Logue usually helps him and gives him courage by using some strange ways, and gradually, Bertie begins to treat him as a friend and tell him his personal things as well as true feelings. Finally, Bertie and Logue maintain a life-long friendship. As the title card in the film explains that Logue was always present at King George VI's speeches during the war, and that they remained friends for the rest of their lives. At last, I want to say that, psychologically, self-disclosure is an important agent in relationship formation and maintenance. In the film, Bertie eventually reveals some of the pressures of his childhood: his tense relationship with his strict father, the repression of his natural left-handedness, painful childhood metal splints to correct his knock-knees, physical abuse by his nanny, and the early death of his younger brother, and Bertie knows that Logue are being a coward to his wife. The third word I am going to talk is LOVE. As we know, love is the eternal theme of all kinds of realms. In this film, I hold the opinion that the love of Bertie's couple is wiser and greater than his brother David has. We notice that Albert and don't desire to be king and queen. A life away from the relentless attention of Buckingham Palace is suitable for Albert and his wife. But when Albert has no choice but to ascend the throne and cope with state papers and some broadcasts in despair, Elizabeth performs extremely well as a wife, and her remarks "I refused you first two marriage proposals, not because I didn't love you, but because I couldn't bear the idea of a Royal life.……But then I thought, he stammers so beautifully, they'll leave us alone." explains everything. The King's Speech is everything a good movie should be. Now, in my mind's eye, a classic movie is something like The King's Speech. Rarely have I observed so many fantastic performances and so many wonderful contents. All points considered, it is worth watching repeatedly.。

Title: The King’s Speech
Director: Tom Hooper Time: 2010
Shinning words or sentences:
Queen Elizabeth: My husband's work involves a great deal of public speaking.
Lionel Logue: Then he should change jobs.
Queen Elizabeth: He can't.
Lionel Logue: What is he, an indentured servant?
Queen Elizabeth: Something like that.
King Edward VIII: Sorry, I've been terribly busy.
King George VI: Doing what?
King Edward VIII: Kinging.
Summary:
The plot of this movie which is based on real historical events is very simple. It tells the story that Britain's king George VI had suffered severe stutter since his childhood, in the end, under the treatment of Lionel, finally overcome the stutter and delivered a rousing speech.
Comment:
The simple and unadorned story is full of dramatic tension. First of all, it is because of the little things happened on the important historical figures and historical events. During the World War II, as a symbol of the country, the king needs to deliver a speech to condense the will of the people. In this context, stuttering treatment becomes particularly significant, small things do matter.
Secondly, whether the King can be cured of stutter becomes the largest dramatic tension in the film. It is not until the end of the movie that under the "command" of Lionel, George VI finally completed the speech before the war that our audiences would be relieved.
Thirdly, the tension of the film is also from the king and therapist themselves. They are of great gap. One is a king, but the other is a therapist, just ordinary. The king is not only introverted, but also easy to get angry. The personality collision caused by identity difference has become a highlight of the film. Therapist Lionel's role in the process of the collision is especially impressive. He did not bow for the treatment object is the king. He asked the king to break routines, to get into his own simple and crude therapy room, a pair of” in my domain here, you must listen to me”. His patience and sincerity finally opened the king’s strong heart, finding out the psychological shadow. He even deliberately provoked the king, leading the king to swear fluently. And it is this sincere communication that makes Lionel win the respect. And the king regards him as the friend of a lifetime.
Although the king is of high status, he has shortcomings of ordinary people. What’s more, the film described the situation of George VI suffering stutter completely and perfectly. In other people’s perspective, speaking in public may be an easy thing, but for George VI, it’s such a difficult thing. In this sense, the King's Speech is a motivational film.。
