It is the right thing to do and will make us popular with others. It may even win us favors in return. However, we must be realistic. We can't say yes to every request. If we did, we would fail or go crazy for sure. Sometimes we sim* don't have the time to help. In this case, we must know how to say no politely. When we need to say no, here is one method we can try. First, we should tell the truth. If we really can't do something, we should just say so. Second, we should remember to refuse requests politely. We must municate clearly, but must also besincere and sympathetic. A true friend will understand. Finally, we must not feel guilty about saying no. Sometimes refusing others is the right thing to do.

在进行高中英语人教版必修二中“Music”的教学时,教师还可以让学生进行分组对话,用“What kind of music do you like?”“Why do you like…music?”

如在课前,教师可以对“Who is on duty?What did he/she do today?Who is absent?Why?……”

Free talk——

Free talk——

“Free talk”

What’s your name?My name is…How old are you?I am eleven.

Who’s on dut y today?What day is it today?What’s the date today?…

Free ‎t alk

The transition from primary school to secondary school can be a daunting experience for many students. One of the key differences is the increased emphasis on independent learning and self-expression, particularly in the English language classroom. Freetalk, a common activity in Grade 7 English classes, provides an excellent opportunity for students to develop their fluency and confidence in speaking English.Freetalk, also known as "free conversation" or "open discussion," is a teaching method that encourages students to engage in spontaneous, unstructured dialogue on a variety of topics. Unlike traditional language lessons that focus on grammar, vocabulary, or specific language functions, freetalk allows students to practice their overall communicative abilities in a more natural and conversational setting. Here are 15 examples of freetalk topics that can be explored in a Grade 7 English classroom:1. Hobbies and Interests: Students can share their favorite hobbies, such as sports, music, art, or gaming, and discuss why they enjoy these activities. They can also explore how their interests have evolved over time and how they plan to pursue their passions in the future.2. Favorite Books, Movies, or TV Shows: Encouraging students to discuss their favorite forms of entertainment can lead to engaging discussions about plot, characters, themes, and personal preferences. This can also be an opportunity to introduce new media and encourage cross-cultural exchanges.3. Travel Experiences: Asking students to share their experiences with traveling, either within their own country or abroad, can spark conversations about different cultures, customs, and perspectives. Students can also discuss their dream destinations and what they hope to learn or discover through travel.4. Aspirations and Future Goals: Freetalk can be an excellent platform for students to explore their personal goals and aspirations, whether they relate to academic achievements, career paths, or personal growth. By sharing their dreams and plans, students can gain insights from their peers and develop a clearer vision for their future.5. Healthy Lifestyles: Discussions about healthy habits, such asnutrition, exercise, and mental well-being, can help students develop a greater understanding of the importance of self-care and the impact it can have on their overall well-being.6. Environmental Concerns: Engaging students in discussions about environmental issues, such as climate change, pollution, or sustainability, can encourage them to think critically about their role in protecting the planet and inspire them to take action.7. Social Issues: Freetalk can be used to address relevant social issues, such as bullying, diversity, or social justice, allowing students to share their perspectives, empathize with others, and develop a greater understanding of the complexities of the world around them.8. Personal Challenges and Coping Strategies: Providing a safe and supportive environment for students to discuss the challenges they face, whether academic, social, or emotional, can help them develop effective coping strategies and build resilience.9. Technological Advancements: As digital natives, students are often fascinated by the rapid pace of technological change. Freetalk can be used to explore the impact of technology on various aspects of their lives, from communication and entertainment to education and the workforce.10. Traditions and Cultural Celebrations: Encouraging students to share their cultural traditions and celebrations can foster a greater appreciation for diversity, promote cultural exchange, and help students develop a stronger sense of their own identity.11. Ethical Dilemmas: Freetalk can be used to explore complex ethical issues, such as moral decision-making, the role of individual responsibility, or the balance between personal freedom and societal norms.12. Current Events: Discussing current events, both local and global, can help students develop a better understanding of the world around them, practice critical thinking skills, and form their own opinions on important issues.13. Friendship and Relationships: Freetalk can be an opportunity for students to discuss the dynamics of their personal relationships, the challenges they face, and the strategies they use to maintain healthy connections with their peers.14. Extracurricular Activities: Encouraging students to share their experiences with extracurricular activities, such as sports teams, clubs, or community service, can help them recognize the value of these pursuits and inspire others to get involved.15. Personal Growth and Reflection: Freetalk can be used to encourage students to reflect on their personal growth, the lessons they have learned, and the ways in which they have changed or evolved over time. These 15 examples of freetalk topics for Grade 7 English students demonstrate the versatility and potential of this teaching method. By engaging in these open-ended discussions, students can develop a range of essential skills, including critical thinking, communication, empathy, and self-awareness. Moreover, freetalk can foster a sense of community within the classroom, as students learn to listen to and respect the perspectives of their peers. As students navigate the transition to secondary school, the opportunity to participate in freetalk can be a valuable tool for building confidence, developing language proficiency, and cultivating a deeper understanding of themselves and the world around them.。

Who's on duty ?What's the weather like today? How do you get to the school?
