Reading Experience of "Jane Eyre"Introduction"Jane Eyre" by Charlotte Bronte is a novel that was published in England in 1847. It tells the story of a young orphaned girl, Jane Eyre, who overcomes difficulties and adversity to find love, acceptance, and happiness. The novel has been adapted into numerous films, TV series, and stage productions and has become a classic of English literature.Personal Experience and Feeling"Jane Eyre" is a novel that had a profound impact on me. I was captivated by the character of Jane Eyre, a strong and independent woman who fights for her rights and personal freedom. From the beginning, Jane's strength and resilience were evident as she battled with the cruelty and injustice of her upbringing. Although her circumstances were challenging, she never lost her sense of self or her determination to follow her heart. The novel, for me, was an emotional roller coaster. There were moments of intense sadness and despair, such as when Jane is forced to leave Mr. Rochester, the man she loves, and moments of pure joy, such as when Jane discovers her true identity andinherits a fortune. Through the ups and downs of the story, I felt like I was on a personal journey with Jane.Importance of the Novel"Jane Eyre" is not just a work of fiction; it's a groundbreaking novel that challenged social norms and gender roles. At the time of its publication, it was unusual to have a female protagonist who was strong, independent, and confident. The novel also tackled themes such as class, religion, and the role of women in society. The novel's legacy has continued through the years, with many adaptations and references in popular culture. It has inspired countless readers and writers and has become a classic of English literature.Innovation of the NovelFor me, the most innovative aspect of "Jane Eyre" was the character of Jane herself. She represents a strong and independent woman who defies societal expectations and gender roles. This is still a powerful message today and is one of the reasons why "Jane Eyre" is still relevant and resonates with readers worldwide.Another innovative aspect of the novel was its depiction of complicated and flawed characters. Mr. Rochester, for example, is not the perfect hero, but rather a complex character with both flaws and redeeming qualities. This makes the story more realistic and relatable. Conclusion"Jane Eyre" is a novel that has stood the test of time and will continue to be celebrated for its strong, independent female protagonist and its exploration of complex themes. It taught me the importance of standing up for what I believe in, and the value of personal freedom and independence. I would highly recommend this novel to anyone looking for an inspiring and thought-provoking read.。

1‘WE ARE EQUAL!’ When these three words came out of the plain-looking girl’s mouth, the whole world was shocked. We have good reason to be shocked——deprived of family happiness from an early age, with neither beauty nor wealth to speak of, Jane Eyre seems to be never destined to bee the heroine shining in the spotlight we often read about in romances——but is there really such a thing called destiny? At least Jane doesn’t think so. She is not pretty; she is not rich; she is a mere ordinary governess, so what? As an individual human existence, she has dignity as well as anyone else, so she deserves the chance to love and to be loved as well as anyone else! Despite her short, delicate body, her soul is not the least weaker than others’——even greater than most of them. The moment she said the three powerful words to Mr. Rochester proudly and steadily, her pale face must have been sparkling with sacredness, which would have made her the most beautiful woman ever, because the beauty of independence is eternal. With this spirit of independence she not only gained herself love, respect and happiness but also proved to the world that nobody is second class——unless you believe yourself to be.Hundreds of thousands of ordinary girls that usually get neglected in life——me included——love and admire Jane deeply because she inspires and encourages us to strive for ourlife goals against all odds bravely. She is a role model, an idol in our hearts but at the same time a friend, a big sister next door who’s not at all cold and distant, always ready and willing to stand by our side whenever we are in trouble. Every time when I feel inferior, puzzled and lose faith in myself and the strength to carry on the life path already chosen, Jane, my dear friend’s determined face and forceful words on that serene summer night would emerge inside my mind, which never failed to relight my fire of passion. Oh, how I long to be like her.But it’s not that I totally believe in her life story, by which I mean I don’t think the story of hers can happen to anybody. To me, it’s somewhat like a fairy tale that begins with ‘long long ago’ and ends with ‘ever after’,in which the prince and princess, though having suffered much in the process of getting together, would always end up in a harmonious marriage and enjoy all the best life has to offer. Being an obscure girl herself, the author Charlotte Bronte was so generous as to have provided our dear Jane a Mr. Rochester who loves her just the way she is, appreciates her unique character and a kindhearted family (later proved to be her relatives)that took her in when she was helpless and offered her a job to support herself. In reality, not every Jane Eyre can meet the proper people at the right time, just as not every ugly duckling can turn into a graceful swan——it may depend on a matter of luck. If you are too obsessed with fairy tales, you are very likely to feel disappointed and deceived by the not-so-perfect everyday life. But what are fairy tales for? We love to read them and we tend to believe in them even though we know they are not real. Sometimes we do need a little romantic daydream as seasonings in the routine of life, and we also need an ideal to believe in, a creed to live by, and a northernstar to show us directions on the long journey. That’s maybe what Jane Eyre is for——it gives numerous mon girls a possibility to look forward to, a life to reach for, and above all, a positive attitude to face all odds to encounter. Perhaps we can’t all have her luck, but we can have her independence, confidence, persistence, the courage of standing up to fight for ourselves against those seemingly taller than us, and the faith that we can finally win because WE ARE EQUAL. 2Recently, I have reading the book "Jane Eyre”。

At Lowood, Jane met a young girl named Helen Burns who shared a lot with her and became her best friend. A massive typhus epidemic sweeps Lowood, and Helen died of it.. After a group of more sympathetic gentlemen takes Brocklehurst’s place,.Jane spends eight more years at Lowood, six as a student and two as a teacher. Then She accepts a governess position at a manor called Thornfieldwhich’s employer is a dark, impassioned man named Rochester,Jane found herself falling in love with him. On the wedding day , Jane found that Rochester already had a wife, Bertha . Rochester does not deny this, but he explains that Bertha had been already mad. Knowing that it is impossible for her to be with Rochester, Jane left Thornfield sadly.Without food and money, Jane was forced to sleep outdoors and beg for food. At last, three kind hearted people took her in. Their names are Mary, Diana, and St. John and Jane quickly became friends with them. They found Jane a job teaching at a school in Morton. One day a news said that her uncle, John Eyre, has died and left her a large roperty. Then she found that her uncle was also their uncle.Jane immediately decides to share her property with her three new cousins.St. John decided to travel to India, and he asked Jane as his wife. She refused to marry her cousin because she did not love him at all. Finally she found theman who she really loved so much was Rochester.Jane immediately went back to Thornfield and found that it hadbeen burned to the ground by his mad wife who lost her life in the fire. Rochester saved the servants but lost his eyesight and one of his hands. At Ferndean, Rochester and Jane finally got married. At the end of the story, Rochester regained sight in one eye and was able to behold their first son at his birth. IV. Work characteristicsPeople always the beautiful aspect of the fire ,but they never knew that fire was a terrible thing . It bring us happinessbut it also could give us disaster. In the novel,Rochester’mad wife set s fire and lost her life .Rochester also lost his property and eyesight in order to save her wife’life. That is to say .this fire destroyed life ,fortune and health. In all, we an see that fire had two opposite aspects. On the one hand ,it made the world warm ,harmonious, wonderful. But on the other hand , it can destroy life ,fortune and health. In addition, Jane’s personality fire, she was kind hearted and sentimental and she also had character. Thus , it was this kind of “fire〞 that made her independent nd happy again. It was easy to see that throughout the story. Jane Eyre behaved strong-minded enough to her love and brave enough to seek her own independence. These are all the reflections of fire in her deep heart. Though lived in a cruel society and suffered from abuse, she never gave up, because the fire was always on in her heart which prevented her from giving into the convention. At last,to be frank, Jane’s ideal life is the reflection of the Charlotte Bronte’s thoughts. Maybe we can say that Charlotte uses this great novels to express her feelings on the contemporary society.V. Journal entryAfter reading the novel, the image in the story may catch our attention. For instance, the fire image appeared in the story for dozens of times in differentchapters. But no matter where it was put, it had symbolic meanings in some chapters, It was the symbol of warmth and happiness ,while in other place it was the symbol of humanity and friendship, sometimes it even represented destrutive power. In the story, the fire image impressed us a lot while reading it,we could say fire is a symbol of human civilization and forcus of the social and family life. Thus, fire plays animportant role in the frame of the novel. At the ,fire was the symbol of warmth and happy family life . Jane Eyre who was a strongwilled woman, tried her best to fight for her own happiness and love as well as freedom, for example “Now,let me leaveyou an instant to make a good fire?〞 , in this sentance we can see that rochester saw the magic power of “fire〞 in love ang this becamea critical element to promote their .Thus, life was impartable from the fire, once the fire died out, thewould be disappearing.Fire existed everywhere in this great novel ,when Jane and Helen were invited to dinner by Mr.Temple, the fire also plyed an important role as Janeeager to win the friendship of the others and it could make her felt warm and comfortable.Trough reading the novel ,it was easy to know that the love between Jane and Rochester was not smooth because true love should stand the test of fire .Facing Rochester’s prpose,Jane on the top of the sky and it seemed that her spirit was lifted. But this feeling just last a short period of time as the news that Rochester had got a wife almost drove Jane mad.The fire of love was set up but put out .But the fire set up again years later as the love between them had never fade away. Her of Jane Eyre is a beautiful, little woman, but she has an extremely strong sense of self.Jane Eyre in a survival environment, from an early age with their peers under the same treatment as people do not, aunt of the , cousin of contempt, insult and tortured cousin ...... perhaps it is because of all this, for Back to the Jane Eyre indomitable confidence and strong , a personality to overcome the inherent strength. she has steadfastly pursued a bright, holy, better life.In before, she never because he is an inferior status of the family teachers feel inferior, but think they are equal. However, Jane Eyre has made a very rational decision. In such a strength of love under siege, in the prosperous life under the , she still has to adhere to their own dignity as an individual, this is the spirit of Jane Eyre the most charming place.Novel design of a very bright at the end - although Rochester's manor destroyed, he himself became a disability, but it is such a condition, so that Jane Eyre is no longer in the dignity and the conflict between love and at the same time access to their own dignity and love.In today's society, people are mad for money and status of submerged love. In between poor and rich choice of the rich, and in love with does not love does not love to choose between. One hundred and sixty years ago, when Charlotte Bronte created Jane Eyre, she could have never thought that it would become eternal. As a matter of fact, in the world of today, there are tens ofthousands of Jane Eyre, each living in a reader’s heart, breathing with him the same air and sharing with him the same happiness and sorrow. Her rich mental world has become an inexhaustible resource of spiritual power. From Jane Eyre, people who are timid and shy get confidence and self-respect; people who feel imprisoned get independence and freedom; people who are lonesome get love and care. However, what I get from Jane Eyre is the courage of inner questioning and self exploring.Who is Jane EyreAs the story extends, more and more things are added to the answer. From the beginning, we know that Jane is a young orphan raised by Mrs. Reed, her cruel, wealthy aunt. From her experience at the Lowood School, we found Jane a plain-featured but intelligent and honest girl. Her courage to fight with all the hardships, oppression and inequality makes a deep impression on us. When she meets Rochester and St. John, Jane shows us both her passion for love and her stickingto her principles of justice, human dignity and morality. While we are getting to know more about Jane Eyre, she is also exploring herself. When she leaves Gateshead, the little girl doesn’t know what to expect in the future. She has endured so much unfair treatment that all she desires is freedom. However, when Jane gets freedom, she finds herself yearning for new experiences, which can change her life of loneliness and neglect. She follows her innermost feelings and accepts a governess position at a manor called Thornfield, where she falls head over heels in love with her employer, Rochester. Then it comes to the most important decision that Jane has to make in her life. Rochester already has a wife, but Jane wonders how she could ever find another man who values her the way Rochester does. To leave, or to stay, Jane is caught in a dilemma. At this moment, Jane closes her eyes and looks into her soul.I can well remember the words she says to herself: “I care for myself. The more solitary, the more friendless, the more unsustained I am, the more I will respect myself.” Guided by her soul, she flees temptation and leaves Thorfield. The second test comes when St. John urges Jane to accompany him to India as his wife. In many ways, the proposal tempts her, but it also means sacrificing passion altogether and devoting herself wholly to principles. Where to go Again, Jane softly touches her innermost feelings. Who am I What am I longing for Is it pure freedom, or passion of love, or principles From Gateshead to the Lowood, from the Lowood to Thorfield, from Thorfield to Moor House then to Ferndean, Jane has finally got the answer. Having gone through all these years, Jane no longergoes to extremes. What she is seeking for throughout her life is a kind of perfect balance between moral duty and earthly pleasure, between obligation to her spirit and attention to her body. Jane knows herself well and thus can have the strength to hold her own bliss in hand.Jane Eyre sets us a perfect model of inner questioning and self exploring. How about us?L ooking back on the development of Jane Eyre’s character, we can see clearly the important role inner questioning and self exploring has played. “What you are you do not see, what you see is your shadow.” Self-knowledge is a hard process that everyone must go through. There are times when we are overwhelmed by all kinds of desires and lose ourselves in the crowded world. There are times when wejust follow what others are doing and abandon our own dreams. To be specific, when asked why you are at school, how many students can honestly say that their answer well reflects their soul?Actually, it is the question that my Grandpa asked me one day. We were working together in the garden, talking about my school life. I told him that as senior three students, w e often have to burn midnight oil. “You are working hard!” he smiled, and then looking me in the eye, he asked, “But do you know what you are studying for” I stammered. At that moment, I was completely at a loss. What am I studying for Is it simply for getting a good score in exams or entering a good university and then finding a good job and leading a comfortable life I feelconfused. Grandpa patted on my shoulder, “You know something Every brilliant life is different. What kind of life do you yearn for, m y dear”I didn’t answer Grandpa. Only then did I realize how little I knew about myself. I have never before questioned myself what I really want. I thought about Jane Eyre. She is always exploring and questioning herself. That is why she is able to make her perfect life.Jane Eyre gives me the strength. Now it’s time for me to look into my soul to see who I am and what I am longing for. I will no longer wander around, the moment my soul answers me with her deepest voice. I will fix my eyes on the road ahead, my own road, and keep going.
