Starter Unit 3 What color is it?（初中英语七年级上）Lesson Type: New lesson一、教材分析。
What color is it? 是一个承上启下的单元，有效而全面地复习了预备篇前三单元的内容后，本单元的主要介绍用颜色表达物品的特征，为以后的单元学习奠定良好的基础。
第一课设计了一个远距离观察物品的情景。
第一部分老师拿着一本书，一个铅笔盒，一支铅笔问学生What colour is it? 要真实，自然。
第二部分让学生动手图一图颜色，可增加学生的兴趣，发挥他们的想象，又可通过彩图帮助学生们练习口语，为提问颜色创设了合乎生活逻辑的语境。
第二课是以复数的形式对颜色提问。
第一部分是针对学生看不见或看不清的物品提问，这种提问的设计合情合理，避免了类似What's this? It's a pen.明知故问的问答。
第二部分复习巩固十种颜色的表达，同时学习letters（Ss — Zz）8个字母；学习words 紧密围绕“询问颜色”这一话题，把字母、有关颜色的日常交际用语、词汇和结构有机地结合起来。
让学生通过结组讨论，看图上色，听读等手段达到对该部分内容的深刻理解。
二、学情分析。
七年级绝大部分学生对英语很感兴趣，学习热情较高，有学习英语的愿望和兴趣，乐于参与各种英语实践活动。
具体表现在：1、有学好英语的信心，敢于用英语进行表达；语言组织能力、逻辑表达能力，都需加强。
2、乐于模仿，敢于开口，积极参与，主动请教；能在小组活动中积极与他人合作，相互帮助，共同完成学习任务。
但个别学生的学习热情较低，学习欠主动。
3、学生正处于成长发育阶段，记忆力较好，理解和认知水平还有待提高。
本节课以师生互动为主，充分练习，展示个性，让学生运用所学知识来解决问题，实现课堂时效性。
三、教学内容:六个字母和六个表示颜色的单词。
本单元为Starter的最后一个单元，主要学习字母Ss,Tt,Uu,Vv,Ww,Xx,Yy,Zz和表示颜色的六个单词(red, yellow, green, blue, black and white, color) 以及What color is it? It’s……四、教学目标：1、知识和能力目标通过本课时的学习使学生掌握本单元的重点词汇和句型，使学生能运用所学英语，正地描述物体的颜色，同时进一步学习分辨人物的用语，并加以运用。
2、过程和方法目标通过训练使学生具备相应的听、说、读、写的能力及运用所学词汇和句型进行交流的能力。
口语训练应当自始至终在一种鲜明的色彩背景下进行，旨在营造那种为学生所喜爱的欢快气氛，教师应当在十种颜色上大做文章；在使用投影时要使颜色突出来。
、3、情感态度和价值观目标用各种可以调动学生积极性的活动来提高学生的活跃性，激发他们参与讨论的热情。
同时可以对学生进行美育教育，从小培养他们对美的正确认识。
开发学生的思维能力，磨砺学生的学习意志，让学生了解学习必须付出艰苦的努力。
五、教学重点难点1、教学重点：用“what color......"句型来询问颜色.教学句型What color is it? It’s……2、教学难点：教学字母Ss, Tt, Uu, Vv, Ww, Xx, Yy, Zz 并归纳26个字母的发音。
教学表示颜色的六个单词red, yellow, green, blue, black and white。
可通过造句使学生熟练地描述物体的颜色。
六、教法分析：情景教学法：根据课文所描绘的情景，制作各种颜色实物的图画片交际法：组织学生小组活动，练习使用课文中的对话学法分析：朗读法、观察法、讨论法七、教学用具：A tape-recorder, 一张白纸和各种颜色的彩笔八、教学过程（4*45min）StepⅠ Revision and lead in (5min)：复习26个字母、复习单词、复习句型Activity1：a gameTeacher shows a part of a letter and asks : “What’s this?”Let the students answer the questions li ke this: “ I think it’s A / B.”Then show the whole of the letter to let the students check.教学说明：这一部分的Revision主要是为了让学生从不完整的画面中猜出其是什么字母，既复习学过的字母，又丰富学生的想象力。
而“What’s this？It’s …”既是前一单元的重点句型，也是下一课时使用频率较高的一个句型。
最后用同样的方式引出本堂课所要教授的新字母的小写形式。
激发学生兴趣，在学生注意力集中时及时将上课要讲的内容教他们。

Ask Students to find the capital letters in the picture andmatch. Then check the answers.2.Play the recording. Stop the tape after each letter and let students repeat. 教师可边讲解边示范书写，让学生准备一个四线三格的英语草稿本在课堂上进行仿写。

为避免学生能读能说能背但不知说的读的背的是什么意思，抄写和翻译练习还是很有必要的。
九、备用活动：1、字母表演：请一名学生表演出老师指定的字母，再由这名同学指定下一个表演的同学和要表演的字母，以此类推。
2、找朋友：把数字单词的每一个字母分别写在卡片上，老师随意选择数字，持相应的字母卡片的同学排列在一起构成单词十、课堂突发事件及处理：1、在课上可能幻灯片、录音机等设备可能出现故障，这时教师应采用备用教学内容，采用板书或者教师朗读的方式以完成教学目标。
