Not all experience and knowledge related to problem-solving can be obtained by personal effort alone due to limitations of mind and capabilities of each individual. A single thought in someone’s mind is, more often than not, far less shining compared with group’s wisdom. That explains the famous old saying that one sees further when standing upon the shoulders’of past great giants; that explains why a great leader is always with greater minds; that also explains why teamwork in corperation is highly emphasized in the 21st century. Brainstorm and exchange of ideas between different thoughts never fail to enhance capabilities of each individula involved, a team, a company, an institution, a country, or even the entire global village.Asking others’advice instead of getting everything done on one’s own promotes democracy and communication too. In terms of democracy, it is necessary to give others rights and chances to speak since the problem may concern them in different ways, and their saying in turn reflects our respect toward freedom of speech as well as their wisdom. In terms of communication, idea exchange sometimes focuses more than solutions, and hereby better mutual understanding about perspectives, principles, praticalities and personalities of each other.Admittely turning to others for help and suggestion by no means refers to absolute and irresponsible dependence. Consideration upon different thoughts and ideas broadens our mind, enlarges our vision, furthers understanding, enhances more effective and efficient brainstorm, and stresses mutual respect in groups and communities, which undoubtedly gives rise to better, if not the best solutions. As is paraphrased from John F Kenedy, brainstormed, there is little we cannot do while divided, there is little we can do.托福写作辅导:托福考试满分作文欣赏(2)Case of Benjinin Franklin, gathering great minds under one roof and then establishing a most world-renown libray. Others live in different towns and cities. Which do you think is beterr? Give reasons for your answer. After they complete their univerrsity studies, some students preferr to live in their hometowns while others choose to live in different towns or cities. Everybody has his own reasons for his preference. After my graduation, I will go back and live in my home city. I have made this decision because of the following reasons.Firstly, my home city is a big city that can offer a lot. There are plenty of opportunities for work, many big libraries for studies, several differrent musiums for visit, and numerous cinemas, theaters and centers for entertainment. When I go back there, I will have no difficulty in finding a job suitable for me and I can make use of all the facilities available there.Secondly, if I go back to my home city, I can look after my parents. I take this into consideration because I am their only child and they are now weak and getting on in age. If I live in the same city with them, I can visit them very often and help them whenever it is necessary.Thirdly, if I live in my home city, I will have a lot of friends, schoolmates and relatives to visit and to turn to for help when I need. Of course, I could get acquaintedwith many people and make many friends if I were to go to live in a strange place, but that takes time. If I go back to my home city, everybody will be waiting for me and I will be able to settle down comfortably without any trouble and waste of time.In short, my choise is based on a careful consideration of my home city and my family.I think it is a better or sensible choice; in a certain sense, it is a must.Neighbors are the people who live near us. In your opinion, what are the qualities of a good neighbor? Use specific details and examples in your answer.托福写作辅导:托福考试满分作文欣赏(4)If you have a good neighbor, you are a lucky person. You have someone who cares about your needs and your property, who is helpful in the little day-to-day situations that come up, and who is supportive in times of crisis.A good neighbor is someone who, for instance, understands that your children may occasionally run across his lawn,- even though you tell them not to. He'll realize that children can be careless about things like that, and he won't make a big fuss about it unless it becomes a regular thing. In the same vein, he knows that you'll understand if some of the trash from his trash cans blows across into your yard. In other words, he is sensitive to the unintentional things that can happen. He doesn't make a big deal about them.A good neighbor is also respectful of your property. For example, she asks your permission before doing anything that interferes with what's yours. This means she wouldn't plant a huge tree in between your houses without asking how you felt about it. If she wanted to put up a fence, she would let you know first. She might work with you to decide where it should be placed. Maybe the two of you would even split the cost.A good neighbor would lend you some milk if you ran out. She'd give you a ride to work if your car was broken, and let your children stay at her house in the evening if you got stuck working overtime. You would do the same for her. Both of you would help make the other's life easier. When something really awful happens to you, like a death in the family, a good neighbor will volunteer to help in any way he can. This could mean something small, like making some casseroles to put in your freezer to feed visiting relatives. Or it could mean something big, like helping you get through the sadness of the funeral.I think only someone who has experienced a bad neighbor can really appreciate a good one! A good neighbor can be a good friend. He or she can make all the difference in the world to your life.托福写作辅导:托福考试满分作文欣赏(5)Some people prefer to eat at food stands or restaurants. Other people prefer to prepare and eat food at home. Which do you prefer? Use specific reasons and esamples to support your answer. Some people like to eat out at food stands and restaurants, while others like to prepare food at home. Often it depends on the kind of lifestyle people have. Those with very busy jobs outside the house don’t always have time to cook. They like the convenience of eating out. Overall, though, it is cheaper and healthier to eat at home. While eating in restaurants is fast, the money you spend can add up. When I have dinner at a restaurant with a friend, the bill is usually over twenty dollars. I can buy a lot of groceries with that much money. Even lunch at a fast-food stand usually costs five or six dollars for one person. That’s enough to feed the whole family at home. Eating at home is better for you, too. Meals at restaurants are often high in fat and calories, and they serve big plates of food-much more food-than you need to eat at one meal. If you cook food at home, you have more control over the ingredients. You can use margarine instead of butter on your potatoes, or not put so much cheese on top of your pizza. At home, you can control your portion size. You can serve yourself as little as you want. In a restaurant, you may eat a full plate of food "because you paid for it."It’s true that eating out is convenient. You don’t have to shop, or cook, or clean up. But real home cooking doesn’t have to take up a lot of time. There are lots of simple meals that don’t take long to make. In fact, they’re faster than eating out, especially if you think of the time you spend driving to a restaurant, parking, waiting for a table,, waiting for service, and driving home. Both eating at restaurants and cooking at home can be satisfying. Both can taste good and be enjoyed with family and friends. I prefer cooking at home because of the money and health issues, but people will make the choice that fits their lifestyle best. 托福写作辅导:托福考试满分作文欣赏(6)题目:It has recently been announced that a new movie theater may be built in your neighborhood. Do you support or oppose this plan? Why? Use specific reasons and details to support your answer.A New Movie TheaterEntertainment is an important part of everyone’s life. We all need to take time to relax insgroupsto live healthy lives and do our work efficiently. It is easier to relax when an appropriate form of entertainment is convenient and close by. Therefore, I would support a proposal to build a new movie theater in my neighborhood. Entertainment places can bring some disadvantages to a community such as increased traffic and noise, but I believe the advantages of a new movie theater would outweigh these concerns. For one thing, the people in my neighborhood would save time. When they wanted to see a movie they could simply walk to the new theater rather than spend time traveling by bus or car. In addition, it would be safer for children to visit a nearby movie theater rather than one in some other part of the city. And finally, a new theater might attract other businesses, such as restaurants and coffee shops, where the people of my neighborhood could go to relax. In short, a new movie theater in the neighborhood would increase the number of entertainment options for the residents. They could enjoy themselves more easily without spending a lot of time traveling to another part of the city. For these reasons I would support the building of a movie theater in my neighborhood.译文:一家新电影院娱乐是每个人生活中一个重要的组成部分。

托福IBT高分作文范文:现代科技带来单一世界文化Through modern technology such as TV, telephone, and the Internet, it has become easier for people from different cultures to communicate. In a sense the world has become a smaller place. However, it is questionable if technology is creating a single world culture, because, even though a cultural exchange is taking place, accessibility of this technology is still very limited, and, more importantly, people have come to value the differences inherent in their cultures.People around the world are taking advantage of the opportunities, presentedby modern technology, to learn about other cultures. Not only foreign movies, music, and books communicate with the locals, but the different cultural values do, which are readily available on DVD, CD and via the Internet. Similarly, TV broadcasts fashions across the world and a new style of dress will likely catch on quickly in different parts of the globe. People adopt foreign things they like and make them their own. In this sense cultural assimilation is taking place. However, while some societies and their cultures are technologically advancedand thus connected with other parts of the world, the majority of the world’spopulation lives largely isolated. Such isolation is the result oflimited technological resources, which in turn is, generally, related topoverty. For example, nearly the entire continent of Africa is impoverished. Itspeople have few means to learn about other cultures, and even if they did they would have little use for Western culture, which to a great extent is a consumer culture. They are also extremely limited in the ways they can educate people from other parts of the world about their cultures. Finally, people who are learning about foreign cultures generally come to appreciate and accept the differences between other cultures and their own. They recognize the value of variety. The enjoyment they derive from experiencing foreign languages, dances, songs, visual and culinary arts, also allows them tosee the value in their own cultures’ achievements. Therefore, cultural exchange does not necessarily result in the melting of many cultures into one.。

Question: Do you agree or disagree with the statement: People benefit more from traveling in their own country than from traveling to foreign coutries. All of us can see that the world now is becoming a whole unity with the rapid development , and at the s ame time people’s living standard is aslo rampedup.Travelling is no longer a luxury imagination in people’s mind , but a new question emeges that how could people get the most benefits from travelling ? If it is up to me to decide with , I will choose the travelling to foreign countries. The diversity of the culture would be of great benefit to us .Our vision would be expanded by the communication with exotic people, who live in quiet different surroundings from ours and have various ideas maybe we never get. Last year I travelled to Thailand and I was attracted and astonished by its amazing and unique culture. Different countries have their own various civilization. In this case , a more direct and vivid impression of the whole world will appear in our own world .What the real world we live in looks like on earth? How different the perspectives of the people from another country from ours?Travelling provides us with an good opportunity to get closer to these questions.I even make friends with some of the local boys. And from that , we have more possibilities to regard the world in a wider and more sophisticated way. From another perspective to say, the good aspect of travelling abroad can be sensed in business. As the world is filled with chances and challenges, businessmen could find more ways to go when they are put in a cosmopolitan marketing system.Only by facing the whole world , will a businessman have the occation to be introduced to a world economic market. And as we all know,it is essential for a merchant to keep pace with the whole word as well as to get a clear picture of the current international condition. All these factors lead to people’s travelling to foreign countries.Take my experience as an example .The company I work in usually assigns us to another continent such as America or Canada to do marketing investigation.Such field work could provide more convincing ideas of what customers really desires for.Traders of a shaper mind,a more inspring insight, could get more access to the consumers’ needs a nd fit the current financial society. However, we still can’t disavow the advantages of travelling in our owncountry.Knowing more about our homeland and listening to native clients’ voices are still vital projects . But in my point of view, in order to achieve a new reality, why not us give ourselves a more spacious stage? Out of our homeland is another fantastic and alluring world that is beyond our imagination.iBT新托福30分满分作文赏析很多新托福考试的考友总是在感叹,这个世界上能拿到的好作文实在是太少了,其实很多时候不是这些作文少,而是很多考友没有努力去发掘这些作文。

A single thought in someones mind is, more often than not, far less shining compared with groups wisdom・That explains the famous old saying that one sees further when standing upon the shoulders1 of past great giants; that explains why a great leader is always with greater minds;that also explains why teamwork in corperation is highly emphasized in the21st century. Brainstorm and exchange of ideas between different thoughts never fail to enhance capabilities of each individula involved, a team, a company, an institution, a country, or even the entire global village・Asking others* advice instead of getting everything done on one's own promotes democracy and communication too. In terms of democracy, it is necessary to give others rights and chances to speak since the problem may concern them in different ways, and their saying in turn reflects our respect toward freedom of speech as well as their wisdom ・ In terms of communication, idea exchange sometimes focuses more than solutionst and hereby better mutual understanding about perspectives, principles, praticalities and personalities of each other.Admittely turning to others for help and suggestion by no means refers to absolute and irresponsible dependence・ Consideration upon different thoughts and ideas broadens our mind, enlarges our vision, furthers understanding, enhances more effective and efficient brainstorm, and stresses mutual respect in groups and communities, which undoubtedly gives rise to better, if not the best solutions・ As is paraphrased from John F Kenedy, brainstormed, there is little we cannot do while divided, there is little we can do.托福写作辅导:托福考试总分值作文欣赏(3)After they complete their university studies, some students live in their hometowns. Others live in different towns and cities. Which do you think is beterr?Give reasons for your answer. After they complete their univerrsity studies, some students preferr to live in their hometowns while others choose to live in different towns or cities・ Everybody has hisown reasons for his preference・ After my graduation, I will go back and live in my home city. I have made this decision because of the following reasons・Firstly, my home city is a big city that can offer a lot. If I live in the same city with them, I can visit them very often and help them whenever it is necessary.Thirdly, if I live in my home city, I will have a lot of friends, schoolmates and relatives to visit and to turn to for help when I need・ Of course, I could get acquainted with many people and make many friends if I were to go to live in a strange place, but that takes time. If I go back to my home city, everybody will be waiting for me and I will be able to settle down comfortably without any trouble and waste of time.In short, my choise is based on a careful consideration of my home city and my family.I think it is a better or sensible choice; in a certain sense, it is a must・Neighbors are the people who live near us. In your opinion, what are the qualities of a good neighbor?Use specific details and examples in your answer.托福写作辅导:托福考试总分值作文欣赏(4)If you have a good neighbor, you are a lucky person. You have someone who cares about your needs and your property, who is helpful in the little day-to-day situations that come up, and who is supportive in times of crisis.A good neighbor is someone who, for instance, understands that your children mayoccasionally run across his lawn,- even though you tell them not to. He'll realize that children can be careless about things like that, and he won*t make a big fuss about it unless it becomes a regular thing. In the same vein, he knows that you'll understand if some of the trash from his trash cans blows across into your yard・ In other words, he is sensitive to the unintentional things that can happen. He doesn*t make a big deal about them・A good neighbor is also respectful of your property. For example, she asks your permission before doing anything 什】at interferes with what s yours・ This means she wouldn't plant a huge tree in between your houses without asking how you felt about it. If she wanted to put up a fence, she would let you know first. She might work with you to decide where it should be placed・ Maybe the two of you would even split the cost ・A good neighbor would lend you some milk if you ran out. She'd give you a ride to work if your car was broken, and let your children stay at her house in the evening if you got stuck working overtime. You would do the same for her. Both of you would help make the others life easier. A good neighbor can be a good friend・ He or she can make all the difference in the world to your life・托福写作辅导:托福考试总分值作文欣赏(5)Some people prefer to eat at food stands or restaurants・ Other people prefer to prepare and eat food at home・Which do you prefer?Use specific reasons and esamples to support your answer. Some people like to eat out at food stands and restaurants, while others like to prepare food at home・ Often it depends on the kind of lifestyle people have・ Those with very busy jobs outside the house don' t always have time to cook・ They like the convenience of eating out. Overall, though, it is cheaper and healthier to eat at home. While eating in restaurants is fast, the money you spend can add up. When I have dinner at a restaurant with a friend, the bill is usually over twenty dollars・ I can buy a lot of groceries with that much money. Even lunch at a fast-food stand usually costs five or six dollars for one person. That' s enough to feed the whole family at home.Eating at home is better for you, too. Meals at restaurants are often high in fat and calories, and they serve big plates of food-much more food-than you need to eat at one meal. If you cook food at home, you have more control over the ingredients・ You can use margarine instead of butter on your potatoes, or not put so much cheese on top of your pizza・ At home, you can control your portion size・ You can serve yourself as little as you want. In a restaurant, you may eat a full plate of food "because you paid for it.HIt' s true that eating out is convenient. You don' t have to shop, or cook, or clean up. But real home cooking doesn' t have to take up a lot of time. There are lots of simple meals that don,t take long to make. In fact, they' re faster than eating out, especially if you think of the time you spend driving to a restaurant, parking, waiting for a table,, waiting for service, and driving home・Both eating at restaurants and cooking at home can be satisfying・ Both can taste goodand be enjoyed with family and friends. I prefer cooking at home because of the money and health issues, but people will make the choice that fits their lifestyle best. 托福写作辅导:托福考试总分值作文欣赏(6)题口:It has recently been announced that a new movie theater may be built in your neighborhood・Do you support or oppose this plan? Why?Use specific reasons and details to support your answer.A New Movie TheaterEntertainment is an important part of everyone * s life. We all need to take time to relax insgroupsto live healthy lives and do our work efficiently・ It is easier to relax when an appropriate form of entertainment is convenient and close by. Therefore, I would support a proposal to build a new movie theater in my neighborhood・Entertainment places can bring some disadvantages to a community such as increased traffic and noise, but I believe the advantages of a new movie theater would outweigh these concerns・ For one thing, the people in my neighborhood would save time. When they wanted to see a movie they could simply walk to the new theater rather than spend time traveling by bus or car. In addition» it would be safer for children to visit a nearby movie theater rather than one in some other part of the city. And finally, a new theater might attract other businesses, such as restaurants and coffee shops, where the people of my neighborhood could go to relax・In short, a new movie theater in the neighborhood would increase the number of entertainment options for the residents・They could enjoy themselves more easily without spending a lot of time traveling to another part of the city. For these reasons I would support Hie building of a movie theater in my neighborhood・译文:一家新电影院娱乐是每个人生活中一种重要构成某些。

The most important problems affecting our society today could be solved within our lifetime. As the economy and technology develop at an incredible speed in today’s society, there are an increasing number of people believing that the most important problems affecting our society today could be solved within our lifetime. In my view, however, this is out of the question and the three most significant problems affecting the society, namely war, environmental destruction and disease, will still influence us and may not be entirely resolved forever.War is a problem afflicting humans since they took into being in the first place. Wars take place when different countries have conflicting benefits, which is unlikely to be eliminated as long asthe boundaries between countries still exist. For instance, in the Middle East where water is extremely scarce, many countries are in conflict in contention for water resources. Since every country acts for the sake of its own benefit, it seems that people in the region are incapable of living together in harmony. Eternal world peace, therefore, is unlikely to be achieved in our lifetime.Environmental destruction emerged not long before but it is becoming increasingly severe and can not be ignored. With the large-scale utilization of fossil fuels and rapid development of industry, huge amounts of pollutants are being produced, contaminating the environment to a large degree. The disposal of these pollutants being a tough task, it is hardly possible that we can completely get rid of them within a short period of time. Furthermore, even if we can come up with optimal methods for dealing with these substances, there remains the problem that these methods may cost too much and obstruct the development of economy.Last but not least, the well-being of people around the world is threatened by a variety of diseases, ranging from AIDS to cancer, the cures for which have not been discovered yet. Diseases set off panics among humans, affect their normal life and leave people badly off with the high medical expenses. There are thousands of scientists devoting themselves to finding cure for diseases, but new types of diseases keep emerging and there is no eliminating all of them.In summary, the problems with the most significance today are going to be passed on to our offspring. To eliminate these problems thoroughly, there is still a long way to go.Some people think that a university professor should focus time on doing research, whileothers think that the main role of a professor is to educate students in a university. What is the main role of a university professor, to educate students or to do research? Some people believe that professors should focus their time on doing research, but as far as I am concerned, it is educating that deserves more devotion of professors. To begin with, professors are teachers in universities, so it is their responsibility to teach students with absolute dedication and enthusiasm. University professors play an critical role in students’learning knowledge and the methods for learning, by giving lectures in class as well as assigning them tasks to do using what they have learned. A good professor should be someone who can teach well and is patient with students. In addition, taking education as the main responsibility does not mean that professors are not supposed to do research. On the contrary, those who have achieved success in research tend to be better teachers. Doing research allows professors to have a broader horizon, enabling them to seize the point of the science and technology today and to have a deep understanding of the knowledge they are going to teach. Furthermore, professors who do research well may offer their students better opportunities to do research in the field they study.Admittedly, there are scientists who cannot teach well but stand out in their specialized field. Rather than teaching and doing research at the same time, I believe that they should concentrateon their research and not take the position as professors. There are many people who are merely researchers and whose achievement in their specialized areas is without parallel. As for professor, this occupation should be left to those who can give quality lectures and help students to learn well.In conclusion, professors should regard educating students as their main responsibility and devote themselves to teaching. In today ’s society, however, there are some professors who do not teach students with dedication. They focus on research merely for money, which will not only do harmto students’s tudy, but will hinder the development of science as well.It is often not a good thing for people to move to a new town or a new country because theywill lose their friends. Many people have had the experience of moving from one place to another. Some feels it a bad thing because they will lose their old friends in the place they move from. In my view, however, itis anything but a bad thing. Not only will we keep in touch with our old friends, but we will makenew friends as well. With the modern communicating technology, distance is never a barrier that keeps people from contacting others. Even if people to a new town or a new country, telephone, email and instant message will allow them to keep in constant touch with their old friends without any inconvenience. Take myself for example. When I entered college, I had to leave my hometown for Beijing, thus I was separated from my friends in my hometown. But I called them every weekend and we often chat online when we are both free. So distance did not make me lose touch with them at all.Furthermore, it could even be a good thing to move away for people and their old friends. Insteadof becoming estranged from each other, they will miss each other and thus become even more intimate. Not having conflicts over trifles, people will appreciate the merits of their friends more. There is a saying that ‘d istance makes the heart grows fonder ’, which means that when people are separated by distance, they may like each other more. So distance is never a obstacle between friends.Moving to a new place allows people to make new friends, and that does not necessarily mean that people cannot maintain their old friendship. On the contrary, people can still stay in touch withtheir old friends, because one can never have too many friends. When it comes to my case, my old friends even came to be familiar with my new friends and they became friends before long.In conclusion, moving to a new town or a new country will not make people lose their old friends. Friendship is one of the most precious things that we have and deserves to be cherished by us all our life.It is more enjoyable to have a job which requires you to work only three days a week withlong hours rather than to have one which demands you to work five days a week with shorter hours.I would rather choose a job which demands me to work five days a week with shorter hours. Though three days of work a week will allow people four days of holiday in a row, during whichthey can go on trips, there are some drawbacks of working for longer hours and fewer days.To begin with, working for longer hours for only three days does harm to people ’s health. If every week there is three days when people get exhausted from their work, they are sure to run out of energy. The rest four days, on the other hand, is likely to be spent playing with friends. This styleof living may well leave people’s life out of order. Take my experience for example. I have worked day and night for three days in preparation for an exam. And after the exam, I went on atrip with my friends. When I returned school, I was exhausted because of lack of rest. So it is not a good idea to work for long hours and have too long vacation.Besides, having long holidays will keep you from working efficiently. People who work five daysa week tend to work with low efficiency the day after the weekend due to the fact that they cannot adjust themselves to working immediately. Then what will happen to people working only threedays while having four days off? They will be inefficient in one third of their working time. Letalone the fact they may easily be tired because they work too long on each of the three days.Last but not least, working for five days a week enables people to keep up with the latest progressof their work. Usually situations change frequently and a project may require constant attention. If people work for only three days a week, it is probable that they ignore what happens on the days they do not go to work. Thus they may fail to adjust their project according to the changes in time.To sum up, it is better to choose a job requiring people to work for five days a week with short hours, which will guarantee a health lifestyle, high efficiency as well as job quality.Since people care public recognition more than money, they will work harder to obtainpublic recognition even though there is no more money given.People usually work hard in pursuit of money as well as public recognition. But it would be radical to say that they will work harder to obtain public recognition even thought there is no more money given. Public recognition is what we obtain naturally while money is a must in our lives. To begin with, we all rely on money to satisfy our basic needs in order to survive. No one can subsist without any money. The food we eat, the clothes we wear, the house we live in are all bought with money. There is a saying that ‘w e cannot get everything with money, but we can get nothing without money’, indicating the significance of money to our lives. How can a person owning high public recognition but no money survive in today’s society? So if a job requiring more effort provides people with higher public recognition but with no more money, I doubt whether there will be anyone who want to undertake it.There do exist people who pursue public recognition, but those are usually the rich who already have huge amounts of money. Only when a person has enough money, will the person seek to gain the acknowledgement of the society. It is money, rather than public recognition, that is the fundamental motivation of people who exert themselves to work harder. There are famous people doing voluntary work or undertaking charity cause, but they are just wealthy enough not to worry about money.Further more, public recognition is not always something desirable. People who enjoy high public recognition may be envied by others. More commonly, people are likely to be too curious abouttheir private lives, which will prevent them from leading a peaceful life like everyone else does. Therefore, it is not always intriguing to receive high recognition from the society. To sum up, I do not believe that people regard public recognition more important than financial income. Even if there are indeed some people working hard for recognition, mere recognition will never be their ultimate destination.。

托福独立写作模板:英文例文I know there are advantages to living in a modern apartment, but I’d prefer to live in a traditional house. My reason is that I love traditional design. It’s graceful and warm and inviting. I think modern design is very empty and sterile and not very inviting. So, because of the way it looks, I’d choose a traditional house.I recognize the fact that a modern apartment is going to be in much better shape. Being new probably means all the plumbing works, the roof isn’t going to leak, the windows are properly sealed, and the kitchen appliances are in working order. A traditional house can’t guarantee any of that. In fact, it’s likely that things will break down or need replacement, simply because of age.Still, if the appliances are old, so is the wood, and that’s a big advantage as far as I’m concerned. Very few new buildings have the kind of woods that were used years ago. It’s something that can’t be copied.Space is always important to me, too. I need a lot of room for my home office, my clothes, and to display all the knickknacks I’ve picked up in my travels. I also like to have interesting space. I don’t want all the rooms and windows the same size or a boxy design. A modern apartment usually comes in one size and shape. A traditional house is going to have a variety of spaces where I can put a little table or a window seat. And it will have lots of room, from basement to attic. These are all good reasons for me to prefer living in a traditional house. Some people love modern design, but it’s not for me. The space and beauty of a traditional home are more important to me than having everything new and perfect.托福独立写作模板:范文词汇sterile:不毛的,贫瘠的; 不生育的; 无菌的; 无效果的appliance:器具,器械,装置; 家用电器knickknack:小玩意儿。

Do you agree or disagree with the following statement?
In the past it was easier to identify what type of career or job would lead to a secure, successful future. Use specific reasons and examples to support your answer.
托福TPO39独立写作满分范文:
Some people hold the viewpoint that it was easier to distinguish a secure and successful job in the past instead of in the present. However, as far as I am concerned, finding a job which obtains both security and a bright future is always a tough task. My arguments are testified in two aspects:
On the one hand, predicting the future becomes more and more impossible because the world changes at a rapid speed. The fast development of science and technology lead to a constantly changing conditions in human society. For example, last century witnessed the thriving of typewriters. Men who worked as a typewriter repairman earned not only rich payment but also high social reputations. However, after computer was invented, old typewriter soon was out our life. Consequently, all of those skillful typewriter repairmen lost their job. What’s worse, large proportion of them did not have a second skill which could support their living. In their mind, there was a deeply-rooted conviction that the job as a typewriter repairman would be everlasting secure. New inventions come up every day. It is really unpredictable for us to stick to one occupation in our whole life.
On the other hand, in most cases it is impossible to get security and success at the same time. Good reputation and satisfying salaries will always be linked with high risk and hard work, while security and relaxation related to boring and unchallenging experience. What you pay is always equal to what you can get. Take stock trading and assembly line worker as contrast. We all know that stock market contains lots of uncertain factors which make it hard for traders to make profits but much easier to lose it. However, a small portion of investors attain sudden wealth in this gambling market. Just as financial textbook says: High risk, high return. Look at another instance: the assembly line worker. Their routine work merely contains simply repetitive effort which is easy to learn but only worth poor salaries. There is no risk for them to take while no promising future to expect. From above, we can see that it is almost impossible for security and success to appear at the same time.
To summarize, for one thing, the ever-changing society eliminate the possibility for us to predict the prospect of certain career; secondly, high salary always means
equivalent hard work and risk assumption. Thus enlightens us that we should keep learning and adapt ourselves to future changes. (412 words)
