Bus Service Elimination Planned
The university has decided to discontinue its free bus service for students. The reason given for this decision is that few students ride the buses and the buses are expensive to operate. Currently, the buses run from the center of campus past university buildings and through some of the neighborhoods surrounding the campus. The money saved by eliminating the bus service will be used to expand the overcrowded student parking lots.
(Man): I don't like the university's plan.
(Woman): Really? I've ridden those buses and sometimes there were only a few people on the bus. It did seem like a kind of a waste.
(Man): I see your point, but I think the problem is that the route is out of date. It only goes to the neighborhood that have gotten too expensive for students to live in. It is ridiculous that they have not already changed route, you know, so it goes where most off-campus students live now. I bet if they did that, they'd get plenty of students riding those buses.
(Woman): Well, at least they are adding more parking, it has gotten really tough to find a space.
(Man): That is the other part I do not like, actually. Cutting back the bus service and adding parking just encourage more students to drive on campus and that just adds to noise around campus and create more traffic. And that 'II increase the need for more parking spaces.
(Woman): Yeah, I guess I can see your point. Maybe it would be better if more students use the buses instead of driving.
(Man): Right. And the university should make it easier to do that, not harder.
The man expresses his opinion of the university’s plan to eliminate the bus service. State his opinion and explain the reasons he gives for holding that opinion.
Well, the man disagrees with the plan for two main reasons. First of all, he believes that the route is out-of-date since it only goes through the neighborhoods that are too expensive for students to live in. If they change the bus route making it go through areas where most off-campus students live now, they will have plenty of students riding those buses. On top of that, the man thinks that the plan will encourage students to drive on campus, which will cause not only more traffic and noise but also deficient parking spaces on campus. So the man disagrees with the plan for the reasons stated above. (110 words)

An Airport Bus for School Breaks Students who fly home for the winter and spring breaks need to get to and from the airport, which is a half-hour drive from campus. I think the university should run a free bus service for students between campus and the airport during the breaks. This would help the students, since there is no public transportation between campus and the airport. In order to provide service to the airport, some of the buses that normally run between campus buildings when classes are in session could run between the school and the airport during the school breaks. Now listen to two students discussing the letter. (woman) Did you see this, Jim? What do you think about her idea? (man) I think it’d be great. It’d make things much less expensive cause our campus is located outside the city. If you can’t get a friend with a car to give you a ride, there is no other way to get to the airport. And your only choice is to take a taxi. (woman) I know. I’ve had to take a taxi before and it’s pretty expensive. (man) Yeah, like thirty or forty dollars which is a lot especially for students. (woman) Yeah, definitely (man) And I think it would work what she’s suggesting. I mean, there is less need for buses on campus during that time to take students between the buildings. (woman) You mean because classes are over then? (man) Yeah, exactly, there might some final exams still going on but regular classes won’t be meeting. There are much fewer students left on campus and they don’t need to get around campus that often. (woman) Yeah, I guess they’re just making occasional trips to take exams or go to the library or gym or whatever. (man) Right, it shouldn’t cause any problems for anyone who still needs to get around campus. The man expresses his opinion about the proposal described in the letter. Briefly summarize the proposal then state his opinion about the proposal and explain the reasons he gives for holding that opinion. Well, the proposal says that university should run a free bus service for students between the campus and the airport during the breaks for two main reasons. Accordingly, the man agrees with the proposal and its reasons. First, he thinks that it's going to save much money for the students because their campus is kinda far away from the airport, and if the students can't find a friend to get a ride, the only choice for them is to take a taxi which usually costs the students an arm and a leg. Secondly, he thinks that there’s less need for buses on campus during school breaks because regular classes don't meet by then, so it wouldn't cause any problem to the students making occasional trips to get around campus. All in all, the man agrees with the proposal and its reasons stated.

First of all, a group of people has a wider range of knowledge, expertise, and skills than any single individual is likely to possess. Also, because of the numbers of people involved and the greater resources they possess, a group can work more quickly in response to the task assigned to it and can come up with highly creative solutions to problems and issues. Sometimes these creative solutions come about because a group is more likely to make risky decisions that an individual might not undertake. This is because the group spreads responsibility for a decision to all the members and thus no single individual can be held accountable if the decision turns out to be wrong. Taking part in a group process can be very rewarding for members of the team. Team members who have a voice in making a decision will no doubt feel better about carrying out the work that is entailed by the decision than they might doing work that is imposed on them by others. Also, the individual team member has a much better chance to “shine”, to get his or her contributions and ideas not only recognized but recognized as highly significant, because a team’s overall results can be more far-reaching and have greater impact than what might have otherwise been possible for the person to accomplish or contribute working alone. Now I want to tell you about what one company found when it decided that it would turn over some of its new projects to teams of people, and make the team responsible for planning the projects and getting the work done. After about six months, the company took a look at how well the teams performed. On virtually every team, some members got almost a "free ride" ... they didn't contribute much at all, but if their team did a good job, they nevertheless benefited from the recognition the team got. And what about group members who worked especially well and who provided a lot of insight on problems and issues? Well ... the recognition for a job well done went to the group as a whole, no names were named. So it won't surprise you to learn that when the real contributors were asked how they felt about the group process, their attitude was just the opposite of what the reading predicts. Another finding was that some projects just didn't move very quickly. Why? Because it took so long to reach consensus; it took many, many meetings to build the agreement among group members about how they would move the project along. On the other hand, there were other instances where one or two people managed to become very influential over what their group did. Sometimes when those influencers said "That will never work" about an idea the group was developing, the idea was quickly dropped instead of being further discussed. And then there was another occasion when a coupleinfluencers convinced the group that a plan of theirs was "highly creative. " And even though some members tried to warn the rest of the group that the project was moving in directions that might not work, they were basically ignored by other group members. Can you guess the ending to this story? When the project failed, the blame was placed on all the members of the group. The lecturer talks about research conducted by a firm that used the group system to handle their work. He says that the theory stated in the passage was very different and somewhat inaccurate when compared to what happened in reality. First, some members got free rides. That is, some didn’t work hard but got recognition for the success nonetheless. This also indicates that people who worked hard were not given recognition they should have gotten. In other words, they weren’t given the opportunity to "shine". This directly contradicts what the passage indicates. Second, groups were slow in progress. The passage says that groups are more responsive than individuals because of the number of people involved and their aggregated resources. However, the speaker talks about how the firm found out that groups were slower than individuals in decision making. Groups needed more time for meetings, which are necessary procedures in decision making. This was another place where experience contradicted theory. Third, influential people might emerge and lead the group towards glory or failure. If the influent people are going in the right direction there would be no problem. But in cases where they go in the wrong direction, there is nobody that has enough influence to counter the decision made. In other words, the group might turn into a dictatorship, with the influential party as the leader, and might become less flexible in its thinking. They might become one-sided, and thus fail to succeed.

Daily E-Mail with Campus Activities The university will now send all students a daily e-mail containing information about campus events and activities. Rather than getting information about activities once a week in the campus newspaper, students will get the information every day, thus ensuring that it is always up-to-date. According to the university spokesperson who announced the plan, “For all of us now, e-mail is part of our daily lives. Students in particular have become used to relying on e-mail and the Internet for most communication, so this is a logical change that will benefit everyone.” Now listen to two students discussing the announcement. (woman) Did you read about the new plan? (man) Yeah, what do you think? (woman) I think it's a great idea. (man) Really? Why? (woman) Well, I just don't think the newspaper gives the most up-to-date information about activities. (man) Well, the paper comes out weekly, what's the problem? (woman) The fact it comes out just once a week is the problem. I read the paper every Monday but then I forget they're having a concert or showing a film or whatever, like on Thursday or Friday. And this will always give a reminder, all on the day of the event. (man) Yeah, that way you wouldn't forget. (woman) And, like, if something gets cancelled at the last minute, well, that way you would know and you wouldn't waste time showing up and no one's there. (man) I haven't thought of that. That would be really helpful. But do you think students are actually gonna read the e-mail? (woman) Are you kidding? Everyone checks their e-mail at least once a day. And if maybe they’ll also include the cafeteria menu for the day in the e-mail, well, then people are definitely gonna read it. (man) You’re so right! I can’t wait until they start. The woman expresses her opinion about the university’s plan. Briefly summarize the plan. Then state her opinion about the plan and explain the reasons she gives for holding that opinion. According to the university's plan, the university will send to all students daily e-mails instead of weekly campus newspaper to update them with the campus events and activities. The woman agrees with the plan for two main reasons. First of all, she thinks that the weekly newspaper can’t get students updated about what’s going on, and the major problem with the newspaper is that she could forget the events later on or she couldn't be informed and go straight to the cancelled events which is a waste of time due to the weekly frequency. On the other hand, a daily e-mail would be a better reminder. Secondly, the woman is sure that everyone checks their e-mail at least once a day, so the students won't miss anything that they are interested in. So the woman agrees with the plan of the university.

Remove Old Bicycles from Campus Racks I noticed that there are bicycles locked to the campus bicycle racks that have not been moved for a long time. I think the university should remove these bikes from the racks and dispose of them. I recommend this action because, first of all, they will not be missed by anyone, since they apparently have been forgotten by their owners. More important, removing the bikes would help to free up space on the racks, thereby benefiting people who are actually using their bikes and need places to park them. Now listen to two students discussing the letter. (woman) He's totally right about this, you know? (man) Well, I agree they should do it, but maybe it's not fair. (woman) What? Just assuming no one wants them? Well, judging from the conditions some of them are in, I think it's probably a safe assumption. I mean, some are missing parts like handlebars or wheels, and others are really rusty like they've been left outside in the rain for years. (man) Yeah, the ones with missing parts sure don't look like they are being used but what if some are?(woman) Well, to be sure, the university could always attach notes to them and say give the owners two weeks to remove them or they'd be removed by campus security. (man) Yeah, that'll probably work. (woman) Anyway, it'll be really big help if they were gone. (man) Oh, I know (woman) Because, I mean, especially like in front of the dining hall, there are lots of them there and it can be really hard to find a space. All the spaces are always taken there. (man) Yeah, it’s bad. Lots of people ride bikes these days. (woman) And since the university doesn't allow us to tie them to signposts, or fences or anything like that to park them, I always have to lock mine up in another building and walk over to the dining hall cause there’s hardly ever a space." 托福TPO29口语Task3题目: The woman expresses her opinion about the proposal in the letter. Briefly summarize the proposal. Then state her opinion and explain the reasons she gives for holding that opinion. 托福TPO29口语Task3满分范文: The writer of the letter suggests the university remove old bicycles from the racks, because they have been missed by their owners and this measure can save a lot of spaces for people using bikes. The woman in the conversation totally agrees with the proposal. First, she says that these bicycles have lost some parts such as handle bars or wheels, and many other bikes are rusty because of the rain. Or the university can attach notes on them to remind their owners to take them back, or they will be removed by the security. Secondly, the woman says that these old bikes take up a lot of spaces, and it is very difficult for other students to find a place to park. She always has to park her bike in another building, which is very inconvenient. So that’s why she agrees with the proposal. 以上是给大家整理的托福TPO29口语Task3阅读文本+听力文本+题目+满分范文,希望对你有所帮助!。

托福口语:TPO3口语Task2参考答案

托福口语:TPO3口语Task2参考答案TPO3口语Task2题目:Some students prefer to work on class assignments by themselves. Others believe it is better to work in a group. Which do you prefer? Explain why.TPO3口语Task2参考答案(范文模板):I think that students should work on class assignments by themselves. Firstly, when you work in a group, it’s common to have one person doing most of the work while the rest of the group hardly does anything. Most of the time I ever worked in groups, it was always me doing all the work while the rest of the group still got full credit, which I think is totally unfair. Secondly, I think that people in the group that don’t do as much don’t learn as much either, which can have a negative influence on them later in class. If I was ever in a group and didn’t participate, I ended up learning almost nothing at all, and then would do poorly on any tests that the teacher would assign later. That is why I think that students should work on class assignments by themselves.。

In my opinion, learning a foreign language isdefinitely beneficial. First of all, it broadens our horizons and allows us to connect with people fromdifferent cultures. For example, when I traveled to China last year, I was able to communicate with the locals in Mandarin. This not only made my trip more enjoyable, but also helped me understand their customs and traditions on a deeper level. Additionally, learning a foreign language can enhance our career prospects. Many companies today operate on a global scale and value employees who can speakmultiple languages. Being bilingual or multilingual can open doors to new job opportunities and increase our chances of success in the competitive job market.

Letter in the Centerville College NewsThe administration has plans to acquire a new sculpture for campus. We should all oppose this plan. The universitys poor financial condition led it to increase the price for campus housing and tuition by 15% this past year. Surely then it is no financial position to purchase such an expensive sculpture. Moreover, just look at the sculpture: several 60-foot ling steel plates, jutting out of the earth at odd angles! Its so large, itll take up all the green space in front of the campus center! This is public space that should be reserved for students to use. Now listen to two students discussing the opinion expressed in the letter.(man) Did you see Pauls letter in the paper about the new sculpture?(woman) Yeah, but it was totally unconvincing. His reasons for opposing the plan are just totally off. I am glad that well finally have some nice art on campus. Id like to shake the donors hand and say "thank you. '(man) What do you mean the donor?(woman) You didnt know? An anonymous donor is paying the bill for most of the sculpture.(man) Not the university?(woman) No! His assumptions about whos paying are all wrong!(man) Still, I wonder if he has a point about the space itll take up?(woman) Well, you know why Paul is upset. He and his friends are always out there on the lawn right where the sculpture will be, kicking around the soccer ball. Now theyll just have to use another part of the campus to play. (man) Oh! So he just doesnt want to have to move.(woman) Yeah! For him, its sculpture versus convenience.托福tpo口语task3题目文本:Explain why the woman disagrees with the reasons expressed in the letter.托福口语Task3考试分析●题型分析我个人认为Task3是新托福口语部分最有挑战性的题目。

托福TPO3独立口语Task2题目: Some students prefer to work on class assignments by themselves. Others believe it is better to work in a group. Which do you prefer? Explain why. I prefer to work on assignments individually. There are two reasons. The first is that I like to be in a quiet place while studying. If I study in a group, I will always be interrupted by group members who talk about irrelevant things. Then it’s possible that I can’t even finish the assignments. Once, I attended a group discussion. Many people were not even discussing. They were just talking about NBA games. When it ended, I got nothing from it. The second reason is that I’d like to think independently. Studying individually gives me enough time to develop my own ideas. When studying in a group, I will always be distracted by other’s opinions and thoughts. So sometimes many assignments are not done by myself but by other group members. Like last week, I worked in a group to solve math problems. It turned out that many problems were solved by others not by myself. I felt very unhappy about it.
