50个雅思口语考试topic和参考回答

雅思口语考试并不要求说得多深奥,题目也比较贴近生活,所以考生要留心日常话题在英语里怎么说.口语考试重点考察F,V,G,P.F=fluency,即流畅.V=vocabulary,即词汇.G=grammar也,即语法.P=pronunciation,即发音. 1.What do you think is the role of grandparents (old people) in a family? In china, many grandparents take on the responsibility of primary caregiver for young babies. Many parents realize that the bond between grandparents and kids is rewarding for both generations. In today’s busy world, work demands make it difficult for parents to be as involved in their kids’ lives as they would like. In these cases, grandparents and extended family offer the greatest help to parents. In addition, grandparents are often regarded as the anchor that keeps extended family members together; they play a unique and memorable role in the family.2.What is your opinion on one child policy? It is no doubt that a policy like one child policy in china right now will bring many good effects. As each couple is only allowed to have one child, they will do the best they can to give their children good education and good living conditions. They will do a lot to make their own children to be the best. It is favorable for the children’s growth financially. However, many people are worried about that today’s children are more spoiled than ever. Many of the children are self-centered and lack the ability to co-work with others even though they perform well individually. Children often have much pressure of being successful and do not allow themselves to fail. I believe that it is a problem cannot be ignored because a well functioning society is result of group work rather than a number of individual performances.3.What do you think of extended family and nuclear family?I think each family module has its own advantages and disadvantages.Advantages: In an extended family, older adult can care for and teaching young, so that they feel they are useful and need.As older adults are in this family, the whole family is more coherent- they help to keep the family relationship between the members. In time of crisis, there will be more people to think about the solutions. And older adults might be more experienced in finding them. While in a unclear family, people feel like they can enjoy greater mobility and privacy. And more resources from time to money can be devoted to each member of the family.Disadvantages: On the other hand, an extended family may have financial problems as there are more people in it and they have to share the available resources.4. Are single-parent families unfavorable for children’s growth? To be sure, children in single parent families can’t get the due love or care from the other parent compared to other ones from regular families. As there is only one parent to support the family there are often financial problems caused by low income and a lack of child-care support. This result in the fact that children living in single-parent families tend to slip behind their classmates. More seriously, some children will isolate themselves from their classmates and friends. However, I know of persons who grew up in single parent families turned out fine. Children from single parent families are more independent and more strong-minded.5.What are the roles that public libraries play? The public library is anindependent learning center. So, we took on a honeymoon to the (40)coastalCalifornia.Part III: Reading ComprehensionIt would be a fairly accurate statement to say that, when I was in elementary school and high school, I was a painfully shy child.I usually kept to myself, had only a few friends, and rarely spoke in class. My parents were always very busy, so they never pushed me to become more involved in activities and meet more people.I was perfectly happy by myself. I spent much of my time with my nose buried in a book. The only times that I ventured away from the comforts of my bedroom were when I explored the seemingly endless aisles of stocked bookshelves at my favourite bookstore. In retrospect, it was no surprise that I read with such an incredible appetite. Reading was my escape. My favourite books were adventure and travel stories—stories that brought the readers to exotic, unexplored, or dangerous places. These were places I longed to go, and they were adventures I yearned to experience, but I knew it was all just a fantasy. I had a hard time working up the nerve to talk to a fellow classmate, I knew there was no way I could travel around the world and live out one of these adventures. Therefore, I read. I read every book I could find that promised adventure, excitement, or escape. By the time I graduated from high school, I had probably read more books than our school had in its library. It was quite an achievement, but no one knew about it except for me. I told no one because I had no one to tell. My only friend was Justin, and that relationship only existed because we had been next-door neighbors for fifteen years.Like most of my classmates, I applied to college and eventually worked up the courage to go. It wasn't easy. I had lived at home with my parents my whole life, and I rarely ever thoughtabout leaving. However, it had finally become inevitable; I couldn't stay with them forever. I attended a local college and moved out to live in a dormitory with a roommate. It would be an understatement to say that I was nervous. I was terrified. My roommate's name was Greg, and the first few weeks of school were very awkward. He kept trying to start conversations and be friendly. I was able to answer his questions, of course, but I found it difficult to keep the conversation going. I just wasn't used to it—I had no practice at this sort of thing. Then one day I returned from an afternoon class and found him reading a Jack London book. Suddenly, I found that I had a hundred questions to ask Greg. Did he like Jack London? Which was his favourite book? Did he read a lot? What other authors did he like? The list was endless. To my surprise, Greg was also in love with adventure and travel books. One of his dreams was to travel around the world and follow in the footsteps of some of history's greatest explorers. There must have been magic at work that day. It was as if my shyness suddenly disappeared. Greg and I talked for hours about our favourite books and dreams of travel. I also found it easier to talk to other people at school and make friends since that day. I felt like the world opened up to me. So many things suddenly seemed possible. In fact, Greg and I are planning a great adventure for this summer! It may have taken me a while, but I finally found a way to break out of my shell and start enjoying life.41. Sometimes I would play the spy and Joseph would play the (31)villain, and sometimes we would reverse the roles. Make-believe games like this were my favourite, and I remember that many summer days were (32)largely spent outside, playing Super Secret Spy.Every time we played, the story had to be different. We played so much that, needless to say, some of the stories got quite (33)bizarre. Eventually, Super Secret Spy was like a science fiction movie; the stories took place on other planets and one of us was an alien. Sometimes, we would wear old Halloween masks so the (34)resemblance to an alien was remarkable!I remember one day in particular. Joseph was the alien and he captured me on a (35)barren, empty planet (my backyard). He threw me in "alien prison" (behind a big tree) and (36)giggled with mischievous delight. At first, I felt all alone and (37)helpless. Then I pulled myself together and remembered that I was the Super Secret Spy!I thought of my escape plan. When Alien Joseph came to check on me in the alien prison, I (38)whirled around quickly and grabbed his alien laser gun. In a (39)blaze of laser fire, I ran past my captor and escaped the alien prison! I was free! Super Secret Spy had won again!Just then, Joseph and I both realized that it was late afternoon, the sun was setting, and (40)twilight was upon us. We were both hungry, so we were incredibly happy when my mother called us inside for dinner. Even SuperSecret Spies and aliens need to eat!Part III: Reading ComprehensionWhen we're young, we can't wait to grow up and get on with life. When we're adults, we long for the carefree days of our youth when we could play all day without worry. This is one of the greatest ironies of life. Indeed, "the grass is always greener on the other side." It is a harsh truth that humans always want what they can't have. It's our nature. That's why it's good practice to instill in our children a healthy respect for childhood. Too many adults seem to be in a hurry for children to grow up. We always ask them, "What do you want to be when you grow up?" We repeatedly tell them, "You can do/have that when you're older." We continually encourage them, "When you grow up, the world will be yours and you can make your dreams come true." It's no wonder, then, that children seem to be in such a rush to grow up, get older, and demand everything that we tell them is coming to them.Children should be free to play the day away. We should encourage them to use their imagination, create entire worlds in a cardboard box, and explore their backyard as if they were exploring an undiscovered country. You cannot put a price on anactive and fertile imagination, nor can you overestimate the value of an inquisitive mind, a respect for the environment, and an urge to question why everything is as it is. These traits are all developed and nurtured when we're children and, without them, we would not be able to function as adults in the modern world.Research has shown that children are happiest and healthiest when they have the freedom to act like children. This may seem obvious, but it's often forgotten as parents push their children to study harder, practice longer, and essentially act like adults. It's important to remember that children are constantly learning.。

One-child Policy Forever? No
In Nov. 9, China will loosen its decades-long one-child population policy, allowing couples to have two children if one of them is an only child, according to a key decision issued on Friday by the Communist Party of China, which make the one-child policy once again into public view. It is undeniable that it has achieved good effects. However, it brings some social problem[s]. For example, it makes aging population more serious. But as far as I am concerned, I think the government should give a pause to the implementation of one-child policy, because the policy gradually is inappropriate to modern China's situation and causes a lot of social problems like imbalance sex ratio and weak development of children character.
For one thing, the one-child policy does not conform to our country situation. The background of this policy is that: in 1979, the Chinese government embarked on an ambitious program of market reform following the economic stagnation of the Cultural Revolution. At the time, China was home to a quarter of the world's people, who were occupying just 7 percent of world’s arable land. Two thirds of the population were under the age of 30 years, and the baby boomers of the 1950s and 1960s were entering their reproductive years. The government saw strict population containment as essential to economic reform and to an improvement in living standards. So the one-child family policy was introduced. But now we can see
that more than 60 years old age of the population is one tenth, 2030 w ill be a quarter. By 2050, it will be one third. Even if China's econom y can still keep current growth momentum, by that time would be diff icult to support so many old people. That is to say, the Chinese turn ol d than turn rich fast.
For another thing, the effect of the policy on the sex ratio has received much attention. [Is this an argument?]The Chinese government has acknowledged the potentially disastrous social consequences of this sex imbalance. Since the onset of the one-child policy, there has been a steady increase in the reported sex ratio, from 1.06 in 1979, to 1.11 in 1988, to 1.17 in 2001. With boys being viewed as culturally preferable, some urban people perform sex-selection abortion since they are allowed only one child, which undoubtedly accounts for a large proportion of the decline in female births. The shortage of women may have increased mental health problems and socially disruptive behavior among men and has left some men unable to marry and have a family. The scarcity of females has resulted in kidnapping and trafficking of women for marriage and increased numbers of commercial sex workers, with a potential resultant rise in human immunodeficiency virus infection and other sexually transmitted diseases. There are fears that these consequences could be a real threat to China's stability in the future.
Finally, one child policy is harmful to the development of the kid's character and personality. The first generation won't have siblings, and the second generation won't have siblings or first
cousins. Many children will be spoiled, resulting in the "little emperors". Many parents spoil their children in that they give them everything they want, and almost never ask them to do anything at home. All these make them short of basic skills in life and unpopular with the society in the future.
It’s commonly believed that everything has its price, and one-child policy is no different. There’s no denying that the policy has played an important role in China’s developmen t, but with a consideration to modern China's situation and social problems like imbalance sex ratio and weak development of children character, it’s strongly suggested that the policy should not be carried out forever.
