„„意味无穷的是片头和片尾飘飞的一根羽毛，不知从何处起飞，在风中 缓缓飘过屋顶/树顶/街道/汽车/垃圾筒，最后无声落于一双白色皮鞋旁---阿 甘出现了。这样的手法应该是东方式的情怀，杜甫诗云：“飘飘何所似/天地 一沙鸥”，苏轼诗云：“人生到处知何似/应似飞鸿踏雪泥”都是表达人生如 寄的绝对偶然性和被动性，无根蒂的永恒漂泊，蕴涵着永恒追问的人生哲学 意味。但这一次西方人在感性表达上接武东方，---或许这也是人类共同的命 运通感？如果说此片轻松中透着滑稽和荒诞，那前后飘飞的羽毛是寓言式的 总纳和思索指引，如果没有它，《阿甘正传》肯定要逊色不少。 羽毛不过是丹中慰与阿甘的母亲对人生理解的感悟的象征，丹中慰说人生是 命中注定的,而阿甘的母亲认为人生是随意并飘零着的。事实证明丹中慰错了， 因为他认为自己命中注定应死在战场上，但他却被阿甘救了回来。阿甘一生 都在向前奔跑，那也是他听了母亲的话,随风飘零，无有定数。羽毛像征阿甘 的人生与命运。 羽毛的事情不单单只是说明了阿甘母亲认为”人生是随风飘零”的，其中多 少也存在了丹中慰的”人生是命中注定”的观点。因为羽毛恰巧落在阿甘的 脚下并且被他夹在书里保存了一段时间,这也是在某种程度和意义上暗示了” 命中注定”的特质。当然开始和结尾羽毛的飘飞更明显地印证了阿甘母亲的 观点，总体来说也许是在阐释”随风飘零中的命中注定”吧,即是人们常说的” 偶然中的必然”.

• 终于有一天，珍妮回来了。她和甘共同生活了一段日子。在一天夜晚， 珍妮投入了阿甘的怀抱，之后又在黎明悄然离去。醒来的甘木然坐在 门前的长椅上，然后突然开始奔跑。他跑步横越了美国，又一次成了 名人. 在奔跑了许久之后，甘停了下来，开始回自己的故乡。

• 阿甘收到珍妮的信并按照信上的地址去到了 珍妮的住处，与珍妮在一起居住的还有一名 与阿甘同名小男孩，珍妮告知那是他的儿子。 这时的珍妮已经得了一种不治之症(实际上是 艾滋病，不过由于反映的时代是上世纪70到 80年代，所以那时还没人了解艾滋病)，但阿 甘仍然同珍妮结婚并带着儿子一起回到了家 乡，度过了一段幸福的时光。
