Why Japan is a popular travel destination among Chinese tourists
同学旅游 数据 疑问
经济 汇率 购物
政策 放宽签证 免税
文化 相似 年老一代 年轻一代
综上所述 必然

I believe that some of your friends chose to travel abroad this summer holiday and Japan may be
a popular destination. According to statistics, 2,410,000 Chinese tourists went to Japan in 2014
and the growth rate of this number approaches 80 percent .Considering historical and national
reasons, we may ask, why Japan is such a popular travel destination among Chinese tourists
these years?
First, Japan implements the Tourism-based Country Strategy which encourages Chinese
tourists to travel to Japan. It takes an average of 15 days for Chinese tourists to apply for
visas and the demand is not a barrier while it takes a longer time if you want to go to
countries like America. The tourism image and service of Japan are also well established,
making it convenient for Chinese tourists to travel to Japan.
Then, in consideration of economy, the cost of a travel to Japan has decreased recently. Japanese
currency yen has been devalued while RMB stays steady, which results in cheaper goods in Japan
for Chinese tourists. Adding the high quality of Japanese products and the duty-free policy, there
is no doubt that Chinese tourists pour into Japan to buy various kinds of things.
Finally, the cultural factors are also important. Japanese culture is similar to Chinese culture in
many aspects ,so Chinese tourists won’t feel strange and can experience some ancient culture of
China. Since the establishment of diplomatic ties between China and Japan, Japanese films
and television programs have been introduced into China which have influenced a generation of
Chinese who are now the main Chinese tourists travelling to Japan. Also, Japanese pop culture
like manga influences quite a few Chinese youngsters and Akihabara in Japan is the holy place for
those who are interested in manga.
In conclusion, from political, economic and cultural aspects, Japan is sure to be a popular travel
destination among Chinese tourists.
