Book Report on The Go-nowhere Generation From all kinds of mediums, Americans like to explain their national sprite as tenacious, enterprising and so on. But in the last few decades, in this country of adventurers, more and more people, mostly young people, have become risk-averse and sedentary. They prefer to still in a terrible job rather than quit it and find another one; they prefer to be unemployed in their hometown rather than try their luck in another state; they prefer to spend most of their time with their Facebook at home rather than get a license and hang out with their real world friends. They are called the Go-nowhere Generation. They are the productions of economic recession and also become the new challenge to the society.
In my opinion, a desire to advance of a youth is of great value. Now many young people are just satisfied with the their present state and reluctant to move forward. They find all kinds of excuse for their idleness but the root of it is avoiding to face the reality I think. And the Internet just provides a perfect shelter for them. So just as the article said,it’s time to yank out the power cords and get our kids back on the road.。
