This day serves as a reminder of the need to protect and sustainably manage our forests for current and future generations.Forests cover approximately one-third of the Earth's land area and are home to a significant portion of the world's biodiversity. They provide habitat for countless species of plants and animals, many of which are endangered or at risk of extinction. Forests are also essential for the health of our ecosystems, helping to regulate the Earth's climate, produce oxygen, and filter pollutants from the air and water. In addition to their ecological importance, forests also hold significant cultural and economic value for human societies. They provide a range of ecosystem services, such as clean water, fertile soil, and climate regulation, that are essential for our well-being. Forests are also a source of livelihood for millions of people around the world, who rely on them for food, medicine, fuel, and other resources.Despite their importance, forests are facing numerous threats, including deforestation, climate change, and illegal logging. Deforestation, in particular, is a major concern, with anestimated 10 million hectares of forest lost each year. This destruction not only contributes to the loss of biodiversity but also exacerbates climate change by releasing carbon dioxide into the atmosphere. Therefore, it is crucial that we take action to protect and conserve our forests. Governments, organizations, and individuals must work together to promote sustainable forest management, combat deforestation, and restore damaged ecosystems. This can be achieved through measures such as reforestation, protected area designation, sustainable logging practices, and community-based conservation initiatives. On World Forest Day, we can all do our part to raise awareness about the importance of forests and the need to protect them. By participating in tree-planting activities, supporting conservation efforts, and advocating for sustainable forest practices, we can help ensure that forests continue to thrive for generations to come. Together, we can make a positive impact on the health of our planet and create a more sustainable future for all.篇3World Forest Day falls on March 21st every year, aiming to raise awareness about the importance and value of forests to people and the planet. They are a valuable resource for medicine, food, fuel, and building materials. Forests also contribute significantly to the global economy, providing employment opportunities for millions of people worldwide. However, deforestation, primarily driven by human activities such as agriculture, logging, and urbanization, poses a severe threat to the world's forests. According to the United Nations, approximately 18 million acres of forest are lost each year, equivalent to 27 soccer fields per minute. Deforestation not only leads to the loss of biodiversity and wildlife habitats but also contributes to climate change by releasing carbon dioxide into the atmosphere. On World Forest Day, people and organizations around the world come together to raise awareness about the importance of forests and advocate for their conservation and sustainable management. This day serves as a reminder of the critical role that forests play in supporting life on Earth and highlights the need for collective action to protect and preserve them for future generations. There are several ways individuals can contribute to the preservation of forests on World Forest Day and throughout the year:1. Dear Sarah
How are you getting along these days?I'm missing you so much. Sarah,do you remember once you asked me "What is the key to a better life?" And now I've got an answer. It seems like a big gift thrown from heaven. And I happened to catch it when I luckily read this article written by Maxwell Maltz entitled "Your key to a better life."At the first part,it refers to the most important psychological discovery of this century --- the "self-image"---which can also be considered as a mental blueprint or pictures of ourselves. The article gives a brief introduction of what self-image is and how to build it.
Then it comes to the second part, which consists of the main points of this article. It can be divided into two important discoveries.First one is that all one's feelings , actions or behaviors are consistent with one's own self-image.In other words, man can act like the sort of person he conceive himself to be.The self-image is a base of his whole personality and his characteristic, even his circumstances which attach to his success.Second one is that the self-image can be changed. The author makes a lively metaphor. He compares the external circumstances or character defect to the circumference of the self .So to speak, all the efforts at change directed to the self-image is similar to making a big change to the center of oneself.A proverb come from Jesus has proved this by saying the folly of putting a patch of new material upon an old garment,or putting new wine into old bottles.
At the last part of this article, the author also lists several examples to verify his point. It is so amazing to see how much success can one make when he has changed his self-image.This article gives me a new viewpoint to look at myself.I really hope ardently you can read this article.Hope to hear from you soon.
With love,
Wandy。
