报刊英语常识2英文报纸的传统分类报纸可以分为两大类型：小报（tabloid）和大报（broadsheet）。
小报用的是A2纸，对折起来就是A3大小；大报指印在整张纸上的报纸，对折起来就是A2纸大小。
通常人们认为，大报是“严肃的”、“高质量的”报纸；而小报是“普通的”、“平民的”报纸。
大报报道是“真相”，它为人们提供信息；而小报着重的是能引起轰动的消息，是提供娱乐的。
但是，确定一份报纸的性质并不是看它所使用的纸张大小，有些纸张小的报纸也是严肃的大报，如The Guardian, The Christian Science Monitor等。
1英国报纸的分类英国报纸按传统主要分为三类：全国性日报及星期日报、地方性日报及晚报、地方周刊及双周刊。
这三大类报纸有明显的分工和区别。
英国人还喜欢把报纸从内容性质上分类。
他们把一些内容比较严肃的报纸称为“质量类”报纸（quality paper），如《泰晤士报》（The Times）、《卫报》（Guardian）。
把一些大众化的报纸称为“通俗类”报纸（popular），如《每日镜报》（Daily Express）、《每日邮报》（Daily Mail）。

《卫报》对教育比较关系，《金融时报》侧重于商业、金融及经济信息，《每日邮报》关注女性读者，而《每日电讯报》则是大报中报道时事新闻最全面的一张报纸。
不同政见的人选择不同的“质量类”报纸。

说完了，毕竟要归纳一番，相信各位都有这样的经历，领导长篇大论，到最后终于冒出个“总而言之”之类的话，我们马上停止开小差，等待领导说结束语。
也就是说，开头很好，也必然要有一个精彩的结尾，让读者眼前一亮，这样，你就可以拿高分了！比如下面的例子：

如果读者很难“显而见之”，但说无妨，就当读者的眼光太浅罢了！ 更多过渡短语：

如果说“如此结论”是结尾最没用的废话，那么“如此建议”应该是最有价值的废话了，因为这里虽然也是废话，但是却用了一个很经典的虚拟语气的句型。
