我于是吃完饭,赶三、四里路程,去学校上学。而父亲,却早在我吃饭之前,就对我叮嘱几声,便扛了锄头、挽了粪箕,跟着队上人一起下地出工了。于是每天两趟,我往返于学校与家里,去时锁 了老屋的门,回来又把老屋的门开了。而回来时,父亲与母亲,已早随了队上人出下午工了。饭菜虽“热在锅里”,但已经凉了。其实只是“捂”着。
这些于我,已不深刻,也不常梦到。
我最常梦到的,是父亲或于深夜,敲开老屋的门,把我惊醒。父亲养我们兄妹六个,却只有他跟母亲两个劳力。于是总在夜黑队上收工后,父亲便独自留下,多挣几个“包工”(一种日工以外的计 量活)。
