1、只要学校有要求，即使是可选项目，也建议一定要提交。
商学院之所以要求申请者提交推荐信，一是想从其他人、尤其是从上级或者其他管理者的角度来衡量申请者的工作表现和职业素质，二也是为申请者展现自己社交能力、人脉网络提供机会。
因此，推荐信是重要的展现申请者实力的手段，不能轻易放弃。
2、推荐信做几封，由谁写?
如果学校有要求是两封，就两封，并且建议一封由自己的顶头上司写，因为他/她对你的工作表现和职业能力比较了解，写起来会比较中肯。
另外一封尽量找自己能找到的来头大的人来写，所谓来头大，指名气大，职位高。
不过要想办法能搭上点工作关系，否则就难以满足推荐信上“了解申请者工作情况”的要求了。
如果只要求一封信，请自己能找到的来头大的人来写。
不建议超出商学院要求递交推荐信。
我有位朋友申请清华mba时，提交了19封推荐信，且不说在面试时引起面官侧目，不幸当年未录取，还得写了19封信去分别向推荐人说明和致谢，然后又分别领受19个人的安慰，搞得很难受。
3、哪去找来头大的推荐人?
(1)自己公司的大老板(如果正好不是顶头上司时)；
(2)曾经合作过的客户的老板，尤其是自己是甲方时，客户一般都会给面子，我好几次的推荐信都是找的这个范畴的人；
(3)自己的亲戚朋友;有这样的人也别放过，由于是亲友，他们也完全有资格说很了解你。
4，怎么写推荐信?
少数推荐人要自己写推荐信，大多数推荐人都是让你自己写好，他们直接签字认可。
此时别忘了要先将写好的推荐信请推荐人过目，他们认可后再正式抄写或者打印，并且推荐人签完名后复印一份留在推荐人那里备案，以防商学院真会和推荐人联系了解情况(商学院总是声称可能会和推荐人联系进一步了解情况，就我所知还没人被抽中过回访，不过小心第一)。
５，推荐信里的内容也会有写申请者的业绩成就之类的，这时要避免和申请材料中的
短文内容雷同。
可以考虑分别用不同的材料，从不同侧面展示自己的职业能力。

也许申请者的社交圈子颇广，但是自己有个特牛的亲属，所以让亲属写了；也可能申请人的社交圈子很广牛人也很多，但正好有个既牛又了解自己的亲属，就让他写了；再次，即使申请人现在的社交圈子不够大，但与其是否具备管理能力和潜质、能不能成为合格甚至优秀的管理者之间也没有必然联系。
申请者虽然现在人际圈还小，但人脉缺乏可能有很多原因，如缺乏人脉意识、囿于工作职责、行业特点等等，这些都不是制约申
