started talking about what Labor Day meant to us.
Jack said, "I think Labor Day is a great day to do something useful. Like, I helped my dad fix the fence in our backyard yesterday. It was hard work, but it felt good to see the finished result."
Lisa chimed in, "Well, I helped my mom clean the house. I vacuumed, dusted, and even did the dishes. My arms were so tired, but my mom was
really happy."
I laughed and said, "You guys are such good kids! I, on the other hand, just played video games all day yesterday. But today, I'm ready to work
hard too!"
Tom rolled his eyes and said, "Yeah, right. Let's see you do some real work."
After we finished eating, we decided to clean up the park. We picked up all the trash, put it in the bins, and even watered the flowers. It was a
lot of work, but we had a great time doing it. We were sweating and dirty, but we didn't care. We were helping to make the park a nicer place for everyone.
As we were working, an old man walked by and said, "You kids are doing
a great job! This park looks much better already." We all beamed with pride.
When we were done, we played frisbee for a while. We ran around, laughed, and had a great time. It was a perfect way to end a fun and productive Labor Day.
