The table illustrates how the proportion of male and female workers in four sectors changed between 1990 and 2010.Referring to men, most of them (25%) worked in manufacturing industry in 1990 but the figure had decreasedin the following twenty years, standing at only 10% in 2010. This downward trend was also seen in the rate of male employees in retail and shops, declining from 23% to 8%. On the contrary, there were more and more men finding jobs in tourism, and its percentage almost tripled over this period. In terms of health field, 9% of men were hired both in 1990 and 2000 with an increase of 1% in 2010.Regarding to women, 23% of them undertook the work related to tourism at the beginning of this period and in next twenty years its percent stabilised at 25%. The similar situation occurred in the figure for retail and shops where 13% of women worked in per ten years. However, meanwhile, the percentage of female staffs in health and manufacturing both had dropped.Overall, it can be seen that compared with men, more women chose to work in tourism and health industry in the 20-year period.

8月21日雅思写作真题(新东方版)Task 1The charts below show the proportion of the people who spent on some commodities in 1998 and 2008.

Some people believe that it is important to protect the environment, but they make no efforts on it. What are the reasons of it? How to solve the environmental problem?Even three-year-old children know about severe problems brought by devastation of environment in cities around the world. However, senses of indifference and avoidance are written on every face of almost all citizens who are not, indeed, unconcern about this global problem. Those people who do not think that they can do something to rescue the whole world have reasons of both individual and government. From individual perspective, environmental problems maybe too big or too complicated for them to solve, even if they are keen on dedicating to environmental protection after the campaign and publicity from environmentalists and government. It is certainly true. After all, it is a long-term outcome before citizens realize seriousness theyresult in. For example, styrofoam cups or plastic bags which they toss away will be never biodegraded until after at least 500 years. On the other hand, they also nurture the concept that it is too negligible for environment to use disposable products and throw those living rubbishes, which is convenient and, somewhat, fashionable to be inline with international trend. So, this could be done by a process of education which points out the way a smaller family can mean an environmentally friendly lifestyle for family members, as well as less strain on the government’s, perhaps very limited, resources. But, it does not mean government issue can be neglected on this point. It is, in general, thought that it is the obligation of government to face status quo, rather than depending on underage’s volunteer work or even publicity on festival concerned once or twice per year. Therefore, some laws and regulations may be constituted to solve the problem, such as the regulation of staggering the use of odd-and-even-numbered cars in cities, which is currently used in Beijing during 2008 Olympic and Paralympics Games. And, energy-saving light bulbs can be subsidized by government to those families with poor economic background. In conclusion, environment problem affects every aspect of our life. So, joint efforts may be made by both government and individual.2021年2月21日雅思大作文及其范文这次雅思大作文居然又考了一道老题,而且还是我上课所讲的内容。

From my perspective, the most effective method for foreign language acquisition is through immersion. By residing in a country where the target language is spoken natively, individuals are exposed to the language in its natural context and can absorb it through daily interactions. This approach allows for subconscious learning, where language acquisition occurs naturally and effortlessly. Moreover, immersion fosters cultural understanding and appreciation, as learners are exposed to the customs and values associated with the language. In contrast, traditional classroom instruction often relies on rote memorization and grammar rules, which can be less effective for long-term retention. While classroom settings can provide a structured learning environment, they lack the real-world context and interactive nature of immersion. Additionally, classroom instruction may notalways cater to individual learning styles or provide opportunities for authentic communication.

The Impact of Social Media on Mental HealthIn recent years, the rise of social media has brought about significant changes in the way people communicate, share information, and interact with one another. While social media platforms have undoubtedly revolutionized the way we connect with others, there is a growing concern about the potential impact of social media on mental health. This essay aims to explore the complex relationship between social media and mental health, analyzing its historical background, different perspectives, case studies, benefits, drawbacks, and future implications.Historical Background and DevelopmentThe rise of social media can be traced back to the early 2000s, with the emergence of platforms such as MySpace, Facebook, and Twitter. These platforms were initially designed to facilitate social interaction and communication, allowing users to connect with friends and family, share personal updates, and engage in online communities. Over time, social media has evolved to encompass a wide range of features, including photo and video sharing, live streaming, and instant messaging, making it an integral part of everyday life for millions of people around the world. As social media usage has become increasingly pervasive, concerns about its impact on mental health have also grown. Research has shown that excessive use of social media can lead to feelings of loneliness, anxiety, and depression, particularly among young people. The constant exposure to idealized images and lifestyles on social media has been linked to a rise in body image issues and low self-esteem, as individuals compare themselves to unrealistic standards perpetuated by influencers and celebrities. Additionally, the addictive nature of social media, characterized by endless scrolling and constant notifications, has raised concerns about its potential to disrupt sleep patterns and contribute to feelings of stress and overwhelm.Different Perspectives and OpinionsThe relationship between social media and mental health is a complex and multifaceted issue, with various perspectives and opinions shaping the discourse. Some argue that social media has provided a valuable platform for raising awareness about mental health issues and connecting individuals with support networks and resources. Online communities and forums dedicated to mental health have allowed people to share their experiences, seek advice, and find solidarity in their struggles, breaking down the stigma surrounding mental illness. On the other hand, critics argue that social media has exacerbated mental health problems by promoting a culture of comparison and validation-seeking. The pressure to present a curated and flawless image online has been linked tofeelings of inadequacy and insecurity, leading to a rise in anxiety and depression among users. Moreover, the prevalence of cyberbullying and online harassment has created a toxic environment for many individuals, contributing to feelings of isolation and distress.Case Studies and ExamplesSeveral case studies and examples illustrate the impact of social media on mental health. A study conducted by the Royal Society for Public Health in the UK found that Instagram, in particular, has the most detrimental effect on young people's mental wellbeing, with issues such as anxiety, depression, loneliness, and body image concerns being exacerbated by the platform. The pressure to present a perfect and glamorous image on Instagram has been linked to a rise in negative self-perception and mental health struggles among young users.Conversely, there are also examples of social media being used as a force for good in the realm of mental health. Online campaigns and movements, such as#BellLetsTalk and #EndTheStigma, have utilized social media to raise awareness about mental health issues, challenge stereotypes, and encourage open conversations. These initiatives have sparked meaningful discussions and fostereda sense of community among individuals struggling with mental illness, highlighting the potential for social media to be a tool for positive change.Critical Evaluation of the TopicWhen critically evaluating the impact of social media on mental health, it is essential to consider both the benefits and drawbacks of its influence. On one hand, social media has the potential to facilitate social support, provide access to information and resources, and empower individuals to share their stories and advocate for mental health awareness. The ability to connect with like-minded individuals and access support networks online can be a lifeline for those experiencing mental health challenges, particularly in regions where access to traditional mental health services may be limited. On the other hand, the negative effects of social media on mental health cannot be overlooked. The constant exposure to filtered and curated images, the pressure to conform to societal standards of beauty and success, and the prevalence of cyberbullying and online harassment have contributed to a culture of comparison and validation-seeking that can be detrimental to mental wellbeing. Furthermore, the addictive nature of social media, characterized by compulsive checking and excessive screen time, has been linked to a decline in mental health and overall well-being.Future Implications and RecommendationsLooking ahead, it is crucial to consider the future implications of the relationship between social media and mental health. As social media continues to evolve and integrate into various aspects of daily life, it is essential to prioritize the development of responsible and ethical online practices that promote mental health and well-being. This includes implementing measures to combat cyberbullying, promoting digital literacy and critical thinking skills, and fostering a culture of online positivity and support.Furthermore, mental health organizations, policymakers, and social media platforms themselves have a role to play in addressing the impact of social media on mental health. Collaborative efforts to promote digital well-being, provide accurate and accessible mental health information, and create safe and supportive online environments are essential for mitigating the negative effects of social media on mental health. Additionally, individuals can take proactive steps to manage their social media usage, such as setting boundaries, practicing digital detoxes, and seeking support when needed. In conclusion, the relationship between social media and mental health is a complex and nuanced issue that warrants careful consideration. While social media has the potential to be a force for positive change, it also poses significant challenges to mental health and well-being. By critically evaluating the impact of social media on mental health, acknowledging its benefits and drawbacks, and proactively addressing future implications, we can work towards creating a more balanced and responsible digital landscape that prioritizes mental health andwell-being.。

题目:Some businesses find that new employees who just finish their education lack basic interpersonal ability such as work with others as a part of team. What do you think the causes of this problem? And how to solve this?
Despite the high level of knowledge, employers today have found that their new employees lack basic interpersonal skills needed in an office environment. This essay will analyze the main reason leading to the problem and offer some potential solutions to it.
People with interpersonal skills are the people who can vary how they act and what they contribute. They notice the strengths and weaknesses of their group, and they adapt. However, schools and colleges or universities have failed to equip students with such applied skills. Instead, students are encouraged to focus on their academic subjects exclusively, because they are only evaluated by their academic performance which is essential to receiving an academic qualification. Unfortunately, many of them have turned into information recipients who acquire the knowledge in a passive way without truly developing abilities and skills required in today s job market. For high schools, educators should think more about how students are learning, rather than just what they are learning. Teaching should reflect the richness of real-life interactions, and to give students experience in the kinds of settings that are going to be useful to them when they leave school. Assignments and curricula should integrate
opportunities to work collaboralively. Group projects, for example, are valuable learning opportunities.
In the higher education sphere, professors and administrators should encourage students to seek out real-world experiences. Colleges and universities could ask students to work cotlaboratively in the classroom and pursue internships and volunteer opportunities outside of it. Students should also look for critical growth opportunities within their extracurncular activities, rather than just viewing them as resume-fillers.
To conclude, jobs requiring high levels of social interaction are growing. In order to help graduates better prepare for their future career, changes should be considered in the education system.
