Founded in 1953, Nanjing University of Science & Technology is one of the first groups of national key universities. Overview of Nanjing University of Science＆TechnologyLocated in Nanjing, Nanjing University of Science and Technology is one of the national key universities under the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology. The university was derived from the Institute of Military Engineering of the PLA which was the highest institution of military technology in China was established in 1953. This institute was successively called Artillery Engineering Institute, Engineering Institute of Eastern China, and East China Institute of Technology. In 1993, the university was changed to its current name. The university has become a multi-disciplinary university incorporating science, engineering, liberal arts, economics, business, management, law and education for coordinated development.With Zijin Mountain to its north and the Ming Dynasty City Wall to its west, the university is integrated into the scenic area of Dr. Sun Yat-sen's Mausoleum.
