In university, except professional courses, students must go to classroom to have common compulsory courses, such as class of Ideological and Moral Cultivation and the Legal Basis and Military theory course. Actually, as for the common compulsory courses, students should have the right to decide whether to have these courses, or it will hurt students’positivity of studying: students can’t learn anything useful from these boring courses, the exam of these courses seems like a memory test and students sometimes pay more attention on these courses instead of their professional courses. The rule that students must have these course is a waste of time.
Students had been learning at least for 16 years, only interesting teaching could make them concentrate on the class. However, most of the teachers in these courses just read the words on the screen or on the book, no interaction, no question raised by students, embarrassing atmosphere, the teacheres focus more on theory rather than practice, students have no chance to know more practical knowledge, so it’s unnecessary for students to go to classroom to listen to the teacheres which say the same things as the textbook.
Before the final exam, all the teachers of these courses will give students an outline about the exam, the final examination just like a exam which is to test students’memory, it just costs students a fortnight to remember all the answers in advance, after the exam,
students will forget all the knowledge they learn from the textbook, so it’s no need for students to have these courses.
Students come to university to study and expect to learn something more about their major, but the problem is that common compulsory courses sometimes occupy most of the students’ study time, students have a lot of homework to do before the final examination, so that they don’t have enough time to focus on their major study. Therefore, school should allow students to choose these courses by themselves and students can arrange their time more reasonable on their study.
Forcing students to have a boring and useless course would hurt their enthusiasm of studying. Every studnet knows how important the willness of study is, only when students want to learn the course can they improve their abilities. Students can’t learn anything useful from common compulsory courses because the exam of these courses seems like a memory test and they even pay more attention on these courses instead of their major courses. School has the responsibility to change the rule to make sure that students could learn more from the professional courses.。
