西南大学简介西南大学（Southwest University）是教育部直属，教育部、农业部、重庆市共建的重点综合大学，是国家"211工程"和"985工程优势学科创新平台"建设高校。
现任党委书记舒立春教授、校长张卫国教授。
学校主体位于重庆市北碚区，坐落于缙云山麓、嘉陵江畔，占地8000余亩，校舍面积165万平方米，绿地率达40%，泱泱校园，宏丽庄重，气象万千，是闻名遐迩的花园式学校，教育部表彰的文明校园。
学校溯源于1906年建立的川东师范学堂，几经传承演变，1936年更名为四川省立教育学院。
1950年，四川省立教育学院的教育、国文、外文、史地、数学等系与1940年成立的国立女子师范学院合并建立西南师范学院，农艺、园艺和农产制造等系与1946年创办的私立相辉学院等合并建立西南农学院。
1985年，两校分别更名为西南师范大学、西南农业大学。
2000年，重庆市轻工业职业大学并入西南师范大学；2001年，西南农业大学、四川畜牧兽医学院、中国农业科学院柑桔研究所合并组建为新的西南农业大学。
2005年，西南师范大学、西南农业大学合并组建为西南大学，开启了学校发展崭新篇章。

但是还是可以简单介绍⼀下。
南区的建筑起初都⽐北区的新，风格也更接近欧式。
然⽽现在的北区，随着⽂学院⼤楼的焚毁，许多旧楼的拆除，古旧⽂化的载体也已渐渐地被新式建筑所取代。
下⾯的前两图还是北区的哈！
这是西南⼤学的理科⼤楼，迄今为⽌学校最⾼的⼀栋。
位于原西师和西农之间，在其旁边正在规划着外语⼤楼，矗⽴着已经建好的地理⼤楼和⼼理⼤楼，都是新建的规模较⼤的建筑。
下⾯的是南区的了！
顺着理科⼤楼往前⾛，就是⽹络学院了。
⽹络学院旁边是学校的第三运动场，第四运动场，体育学院。
学校共有四个塑胶运动场。
继续往下⾛，就是学⽣⼆⾷堂，及⾄上图中的⽣物科技⼤楼，闻名遐迩的蚕学就是在这⾥研究的了。
下⾯就是教学楼了，分别是综合实验⼤楼，第三⼗三教学楼，第三⼗⼋教学楼。
不得不提的就是上图中的共青团花园了。
这⾥是读书的好地⽅。
每次路过，总会有许多同学受捧着书在那⾥看书，读书，谈⼼的，⾮常具有学习氛围，同时晚上，这⾥也是原西农的英语⾓哦。

可是这栋西大标志性教学楼曾经在2008年的一场大火中被烧毁。
可是经过原样重建，依然这么的有风格！被烧之前的1教：重修之后的1教：1教----吴宓轩1教旁边的宓园二、第八教学楼西南大学第8教学楼坐落在西大校园标志性小湖崇德湖畔。
坐落在崇德湖畔，被一棵棵的参天大树相拥着，享受了得天独厚的地理位置，本来就很美的了，再加上8教本身建筑的风格（有传说中的楼中楼），自然是美上加美咯。
崇德湖畔的8教（那栋白色建筑就是）：被绿树笼罩的8教旁边：8教里的旋转楼梯：三、荟文楼（外国语学院旧楼）（不知道时第几教，希望知道的同学跟我说一下啊，嘿嘿）个人觉得相比其他教学楼，荟文楼不算是很好看，而且里边地形极其复杂，反正我只进去过一次，就迷路了。
（外院的别骂我啊，嘿嘿）但是，不知为什么，荟文楼在学校依旧很出名！四、第十教学楼十教楼就是在重庆很典型的一般情况下是看不到正面的，需要从背面或侧面上楼，一进楼就是5楼或更高的那种大楼（我们学校这种楼还有很多，像3教、橘园学生公寓等）。
