The first time in life? Then grasp your chance with your perfect performance on the dating night, by learning the following principle in heart. Dress properly. While everyone wants to give an impressive debut on the first date, you should avoid wearing something too bizarre to be accepted. If you are still in school, a sportswear can fulfill your purpose. For businessman or grownups, casual clothes are recommended. Never put up your working uniforms,no matter how well you like that Armani suit. It is no work. A few accessories such as a pair of sunglasses or silver loops on the wrist can add up to the romance sphere. Take a bath before dating. And if you like, spray a little perfume, but unless you're sure that he or she likes the smell, don't use ones that are too strong.Watch your manner. You're no prince of the Scotland nor Cinderella in the legend. Proper manners will ensure a lasting relationship while bad ones scare away your sweetheart. And do make sure you do not boast about your fortune, for, not everyone are green addicts. And your way of smiling, or your greatestoath, should neither be "coy" nor "by St. Loy!" after the nun in Chaucer. on the first date. For there maybe something deeply concealed within the inner core of every heart, of which the owner doesn't share often with anyone but his intimacy. Finally, wish you good luck. 2011考研英语作文范文

2011考研英语作文范文I'm so done with this whole studying for the GRE thing.I mean, who even came up with the idea of testing people ona bunch of random vocabulary words and convoluted math problems? It's like they're trying to make us feel dumb on purpose. But you know what's even worse? The fact that I have to write a freaking essay as part of the exam. Like, seriously?I thought I was done with that whole essay-writing thing when I finished college. And now I have to come up with some brilliant argument about a random topic in under 30 minutes. It's like they're setting us up for failure. And don't even get me started on the whole application process. I've been stressing out about getting recommendation letters, writing personal statements, and filling out endless forms for months now. It's like every little thing has to be perfect or I won't stand a chance of getting into grad school. But you know what? I refuse to let this whole thing get the best of me. I've worked too hard and come too far tolet a stupid standardized test and a bunch of paperwork stand in my way. I'm going to crush this GRE, nail my essays, and ace my applications. And if anyone tries totell me otherwise, they can just watch me prove them wrong.。
2011年考研英语作文

2011年考研英语作文In 2011, the topic of the postgraduate entrance examination in English was about environmental protection. Many people believe that it is the government's responsibility to protect the environment. However, I think it is everyone's responsibility to protect the environment. We should not only rely on the government to solve environmental problems, but also take action ourselves.Environmental protection is not just about planting trees and reducing emissions. It also requires us to change our lifestyle. For example, we can use less plastic bags, take public transportation, and save water and electricity. These small actions can make a big difference in protecting the environment. In addition to individual efforts, international cooperation is also crucial for environmental protection. Pollution and climate change are not limited by national borders, so it is necessary for countries to work togetherto address these issues. Only through joint efforts can we achieve sustainable development and protect the earth for future generations. Some people may argue that economic development and environmental protection are contradictory. However, I believe that they can go hand in hand. Green technology and renewable energy can not only protect the environment, but also promote economic growth. It is possible to achieve both environmental protection and economic development. In conclusion, environmental protection is a shared responsibility. It requires individual actions, international cooperation, and the development of green technology. We should all take proactive measures to protect the environment and create a sustainable future for our planet.。

The Origin of Refrigerators
By the mid-nineteenth century, the term"icebox"had entered the American language, but ice was still only beginning to affect the diet of ordinary citizens in the United States. The ice trade grew with the growth of cities. Ice was used in hotels, taverns, and hospitals, and by some forward-looking city dealers in fresh meat, fresh fish, and butter. After the Civil War(1861-1865), as ice was used to refrigerate freight cars, it also came into household use. Even before 1880, half the ice sold in New York, Philadelphia, and Baltimore, and one-third of that sold in Boston and Chicago, went to families
for their own use. This had become possible because a new household convenience, the icebox, a precursor of the modern refrigerator, had been invented.
Making an efficient icebox was not as easy as we might now suppose. In the early nineteenth century, the knowledge of the physics of heat, which was essential to a science of refrigeration, was rudimentary. The commonsense notion that the best icebox was one that prevented the ice from melting was of course mistaken, for it was the melting of the ice that performed the cooling. Nevertheless, early efforts to economize ice included wrapping the ice in blankets, which kept the ice from doing its job. Not until near the end of the nineteenth century did inventors achieve the delicate balance of
insulation and circulation needed for an efficient icebox.
But as early as 1803, an ingenious Maryland farmer, Thomas Moore, had been on the right track. He owned a farm about twenty miles outside the city of Washington, for which the village of Georgetown was the market center. When he used an icebox of his own design to transport his butter to market, he found that customers would pass up the rapidly melting stuff in the tubs of his competitors to pay a premium price for his butter, still fresh and hard in neat, one-pound bricks. One advantage of his icebox, more explained, was that farmers would no longer have to travel to market at night in order to keep their produce cool.
