当然，感恩之心并不止于一声“感谢”，它还应当蕴含回报，让感恩之心就像一朵四季常开的花朵，永不凋零。

Are You Lacking in Gratitude? 感恩了吗？
As we get older we spend more time reflecting on our youth. We think about the people and events which have had the most impact on what we've done, and who we've become.
Inevitably, we reflect on things our parents used to say, some of which were often-repeated pieces of advice. At least some of the time, we appeared to be listening, although our minds may have been somewhere else. At other times, it was apparent we weren't listening at all, especially during teenage years.
Somehow, in later years we hear these words of advice replayed to us, again and again. Even though we didn't seem to be paying attention at the time, it turns out that we absorbed the advice like a sponge takes in water. The message sunk in after all.
One example I have been thinking about lately is an outlook on life which my dear late father used to advocate . He called it “an attitude of gratitude”, which essentially means starting e ach day being grateful for the good things in your life, and making the best of the notso-good ones. The alternative is to dwell on your bad luck, less than ideal circumstances, etc., and slip into a mentality of complaining and excuse-making.
Greed is the enemy of gratitude. It saps the positive energy which gratitude can foster , and unleashes blind selfishness which undermines self-improvement and teamwork.
It's easy to forget that an attitude of gratitude is a choice we make. The same is true of greed. It's all around us, yet the choices are up to us.
No matter how rough the challenges which life throws in our path, there are always people nearby with problems much more vexing than our own. Recognition of this helps us achieve a more balanced and positive outlook.
Medical doctors experienced in dealing with life-threatening illness cite ample evidence that patients with a positive outlook generally have a higher prospect of survival and cure than those who are preoccupied with the negative.
I'm grateful, therefore, for my father's advice about gratitude. It has served me well. And yet, I need reminders from time to time. We all do.

贪婪是感恩的敌人，它弱化感恩培养出的正能量，释放能削弱自强和团队精神的盲目自私。
人们很容易忘记感恩的态度是一种自我选择，贪婪亦然。
它就环绕在我们周围，而选择权就在我们自己手中。
无论生活抛在前路上的困难有多么崎岖跌宕，身边总有人烦恼要比我们更多。
认识到这一点有助于我们更加平衡和积极地看待问题。
治疗过致命疾病的医生都有丰富的案例可以证明，态度积极的病人其生存和治愈率普遍高于消极的病人。
因此，我很感激父亲关于感恩的教诲。
这让我受益良多，但也需要不时提醒自己。
