学情分析八年级的学生们已经有了一定的语言基础与合作学习的能力，为本课的学习奠定了认知和语言方面的基础；学生们在Lesson 7 Planting Trees 中已经学习了如何植树，初步了解了植树对环境的重要性，因此对Lesson 8 Why Are Plants Important?这一话题也并不陌生，为本课的学习奠定了情感基础，在Lesson 8中将进一步学习树以及其它植物对人、对动物以及对环境的重要性,所以本课的设计由第七课为什么要植树引入到第八课植物的重要性，由旧知识引入到新知识，使学生觉得新知识并不陌生，但是用英语说出植物的重要性却是学生们学习本课的难点，也是学生们将在本课要学会的语言技能。

第四、说教学流程：Step1、新课导入：本课重点是树对人的重要性以及植物在对人和动物的生长环境起的作用，因此，通过观看有关植物视频导入新课，刺激学生视觉神经、缓解学生紧张气氛进而达到激趣乐学的目的。
