重点：能听懂、会说句型:This man is blind. He can’t see. This dog helps him.这类句型。
难点：能结合图片内容，用can/can’t谈论能力。

五、教学设计
Step 1 Warm-up
1. 教师提出问题:What animals do you like? Why? 让几名学生分别回答。
2. Let’s chant.
Dogs are clever. Dogs are cute. They can help a lot.
Dogs are useful Dogs are cool. They can do a lot.
【设计意图】问答学生各自喜欢的动物，活跃了课堂气氛，温习了词汇，让学生不由自主地回忆起上节课所学内容，并为本课堂做铺垫。
Step 2 Practice.（完成课文活动4）
1. Describe the pictures in pairs.
2. Talk about dogs that help people in the daily life.

【设计意图】重点操练动词及人称代词的主格和宾格形式。
再呈现图片，让学生进一步操练巩固。

Step 3 Listen and say.
1. 教师边播放录音，边做动作，帮助学生听懂录音内容。
2. 课件呈现图片，让学生观看图片内容并复述。
3. Topic: Can Sam have a dog? Do you want to have a dog? What can a dog do?
教师引导学生明白小学生目前的任务是学习，等以后长大了,会照顾自己及掌握了一定的饲养动物的方法之后，再考虑是否养宠物。
【设计意图】先通过录音及教师的动作感知录音内容，然后复述课文内容以进一步了解录音内容，最后针对现在好多同学像Sam 一样想饲养宠物的想法进行话题交流，正确引导学生先学会照顾自己，再照顾别人。
Step 4 Consolidation and extension
1. 介绍我最喜爱的动物。
把学生分组，让学生画出各自最喜爱的动物，在组内用can 和can’t向大家介绍此动物的特性和对人类的帮助，最后分组展示。
在活动中，教师应预先为学生提供描述所需的相关词汇，适时教育学生要爱护动物、保护动物。
如：
T: This dog helps the blind people. What about other animals? What can they do? What can’t they do?
Ss: This panda can ... This bird can’t …
小组完成并反馈。
2. Guessing game.
组内成员用He can/can’t ... She can/can’t ... 语句猜测同学/老师/伟人/明星做得到或做不到的事，再通过询问确定猜测是否正确，可以分小组竞赛。
【设计意图】通过介绍最喜爱的动物和自己身边的人物能做或不会做的事情，巩固can/can’t的用法。
Step 5 Sing a song “A GOOD FRIEND"

将句子写在黑板上。
请学生三人一组，讨论描述图2—4。
