Unit 8 My Friends Part A教材分析本课时为第八单词的第一课时，类型为对话课。
具体内容为：学习新单词、词组the USA, read an email, play with Fido, look at the photos和句型What is he/she doing?/What are they doing等现在进行时单复数的区别及综合运用，另外还要学习字母tr与dr的发音规则。
此前学生在第二册（三年级下Unit 8, Part B）、第四册（四年级下Unit 2, Part A）学习过现在进行时的单数形式、第六册（五年级上Unit 2, Part A）学习现在进行时的复数形式，因此在本单元的学习中，我侧重把目标定位为：引导学生区分现在进行时的单数与复数的区别，实现对现在进行时这一语言特点的综合运用。
由于本课学习中涉及一些动词词组，此前学生也学习过许多相关词组，如：play basketball, play football, fly a kite, take a photo等，本课教学中，一方面要让已有知识提高复现率，另一方面，从学生已有知识出发，温故知新，创设情境，把机械操练和趣味操练有机结合，引导学生进行听、说、读、写的训练，在此基础上让学生说说他们的朋友，达到综合运用语言目的。
结合我校学情，我采取相对集中，适当分散难点，在运用中体验现在进行时的单数和复数的区别，结合实际，如：介绍朋友目前的现状，进行表达，突破教学的重难点。
对于字母发音的教学，我则把它放在第三课时，实现教学的完整性。
学情分析我区小学从三年级始开设英语，经过一年多的英语学习，学生积累了一定的学习经验和英语学习意识，具备了一定的知识和技能，掌握了一定的听、说、读、写能力，具有浓厚的英语学习兴趣。
五年级的学生好表现，喜欢挑战，乐于参与和表演，竞争意识强，形象思维占主导地位，记忆力强，求知欲旺盛，但往往注意时间短、兴趣又不稳定。
