My Favorite Food

Hot dry noodles, or in another way, Reganmian, is one of my favorite foods, which is widely known in my hometown-Hubei province, for its distinctive taste. On the condition of differences in food between south and north, possibly never have you heard it before, but I firmly believe that once you get a chance to have a try, you really cannot resist the temptation of eating that again and again.

Hot dry noodles, as the name reveals, are hot and dry, which is different from many other kinds of noodles in other parts of China. Put the noodles into the boiling water for a while and get the noodles out into a bowl, add some salt,pepper and oil according to your taste, sprinkle some chopped scallion pieces if you like. Most important of all, never forget to add the spicy sesame paste onto the noodles, which account mostly for the unique taste of it. The next we need to do is to mix up all the ingredients with the noodles and had better eat it as soon as possible, for it is very easy for the noodles to become dry. People from other provinces often fail to mix up the noodles, but the vendors are always willing to help them out so that they can fully experience the delicious food. The unique method of cooking contributes much to hot dry noodles' unique and spicy taste, while most other noodles are boiled in the pan until they are already. I have eaten it for years and I am almost unable to live without it.

Since I have left my hometown to study in Beijing, it has been hard for me to eat hot dry noodles. Although the north of China is famous for its various kinds of noodles, I still miss the special taste of hot dry noodles. Last winter vacation, upon arrival at the train station, I called my friend to take me to Li Ji restaurant, which is noted for its tasty noodles. It is hard to imagine that I ate two bowls.

I recently read one piece of news online, which reported that the box-packed hot dry noodles, was exported to foreign countries. It is surprising and I guess there may be someone else missing the great taste just as I do. Whatever it is, one point is sure, the charm of hot dry noodles is difficult to resist.
