He incorporated Hungarian folk art into his buildings. He was influenced by art nouveau and the Post Office Savings Bank has an element of surreality comparable to the Catalan architect Antoni Gaudi.The Castle of Eilean Donan, on Loch Alsh in Scotland, was built in the thirteenth century but was destroyed by the English in 1719. The castle was in ruins for 200 years until it was restored in 1932.The Chrysler Building in New York was built in 1930 by the archit ect William van Alen.
