A Film Review of “Black Swan”When I was young, I liked watching films about adventure, action, comedy, which are considered to be for all-ages. However, when time passes, I begin being fond of the psychological films, which are considered to be more difficult and sometimes, cliffhanging, even thrilling.“Black Swan” is defined as a psychological, thrilling and horrible film, which is exactly what I am inclined to these days. It is, I suppose, because of my constellation --- Scorpio , that I believe everyone is like a coin, that every coin has two sides, and so does human being. This film, “Black Swan” is about a girl, Nina, who is a ballet dancer, trying to get the main character --- Swan Queen, of the drama, “The Swan Lake”. However, she comes to a dilemma that she can perfectly interpret the character of White Swan, which is full of purity and innocence, but not Black Swan, which overflows with anger and hatred. During her process of fathoming the dark side, she starts to have illusion, and that deeply influences her daily life. Eventually, she makes it. She can immediately change from White Swan to Black Swan and embody both of them precisely and beautifully, but, this enormous fame costs her life.“Black Swan” is undoubtedly an excellent film. Though I am not a professional in this field, technically speaking, it does attract me a lot. The director can precisely catch people’s thinking and feeling, that every scene will make the audience emotion uneasy, especially when it comes to the second half of the film. It is not like other films that there will be some funny parts in the middle of the film. The only atmosphere which lasts and penetrates the whole film is psychological horror. At the beginning of the film, Nina shows great eagerness to fight for the Swan Queen. She keeps practicing every day, even she gets injured. Yet after she gets it, she does not realise that her life has changed. She does not show great happiness after she is told to have been elected. In this plot, the director delicately films it with a background which is a combination of black and white, which brings out a tragic atmosphere. As a result, people can feel that it is not the beginning to success, but to death. In the following part of the film, Nina starts to have illusion. She sees the dark side of her inner heart when she meets people. She loses her temper, her sensibility and her norm. She gradually leaves her mother. The director films these plots with “absolute darkness”. Whenever I finish watching this film, I will always be melancholic for a while, for I am still shocked by the extremely wonderful but horrible plots. Most of my friends tell me that they are shocked too after watching it. One more important point is the process of turning into Black Swan. The director does not directly show the audience that Nina is able to interpret Black Swan all of a sudden, but through her hard work, effort, and her illusive thinking, she slowly transforms to it. There are so many tiny details which illustrateher transformation from purity to resentfulness. Every detail makes people fear. At the end of the film, before Nina’s death, she says, “I felt perfect. I was perfect.”Concerning about its tense, I think this sentence contains two meanings. The first one is that she has finished embodying the character, so she uses past tense. The second one is that she knows she will never be perfect again. Perfection exists once in her life only, and then, it no longer appears, since she is dying.During the whole film, there is never a piece of cheerful music, even the music played for White Swan, the purity. All other pieces of music are related to melancholy, indignation and abomination, in spite of the fact that they are all classical. Personally speaking, it is a wonderful collocation with the theme, and that it controls people’s feeling. When people hear the music, they are apt to have the same feeling of sadness, anger and hatred as well. I believe it is also a factor which makes this film successful.Overall, “Black Swan” is really a worth-watching film. It deeply describes people’s inner mind and their dark side, that if anyone goes too near to extreme, he or she is supposed to be going to the hell, that he or she will lose his or her mind, thinking, and even life.Ishan .

After watching the movie "Black Swan," I was left in awe of its captivating storyline and the mesmerizing performances by the cast. Directed by Darren Aronofsky, the film explores the dark and intense world of professional ballet, delving into the psychological struggles and sacrifices of a ballerina. The protagonist, Nina Sayers, beautifully portrayed by Natalie Portman, is a dedicated ballet dancer who dreams of playing the lead in Tchaikovsky's Swan Lake. Nina is chosen for the role by the director, Thomas Leroy, played by Vincent Cassel. However, in order to fully embody the duality of the White Swan and the Black Swan, Nina must confront her inner demons and embrace her dark side. The movie takes us on a thrilling journey through Nina's transformation, blurring the lines between reality and imagination. As the pressure builds and her sanity begins to unravel, the film uses various artistic techniques to depict her psychological descent. The use of camera angles, lighting, and sound design creates a tense and claustrophobic atmosphere, immersing the audience in Nina's world. One of the aspects that struck me the most about "Black Swan" is the exploration of the theme of duality. Throughout the film, Nina battles with her desire for perfection and her fear of embracing her darker side. The white and black swans symbolize her internal struggle, with the white swan representing her meekness and innocence, while the black swan embodies her raw sensuality and uninhibited passion.Nina's pursuit of perfection leads her down a dark path, filled with obsession and self-destruction. As she strives to embody the role of the Black Swan, her mind begins to play tricks on her, blurring the lines between reality and delusion. The film cleverly uses visual cues and subtle hints to keep the audience guessing, leaving them on the edge of their seats. The performances in "Black Swan" are nothing short of spectacular. Natalie Portman delivers a tour de force portrayal of Nina, capturing every nuance of her character's vulnerability and ferocity. Her physical transformation, evident in the demanding ballet sequences, is truly remarkable. Portman's commitment to the role earned her an Academy Award for Best Actress, a well-deserved accolade.Vincent Cassel, as the manipulative director Thomas Leroy, brings a commanding presence to the screen. His character serves as a catalyst for Nina's inner turmoil, pushing her to the brink of her sanity. The supporting cast, including Mila Kunis, Barbara Hershey, and Winona Ryder, also deliver powerful performances, adding depth to the narrative. The film's cinematography and editing enhance the intensity of the story. The use of close-ups during the ballet performance scenes magnifies the physical strain on the dancers' bodies, highlighting the grueling nature of their art. The rapid and seamless editing during the climax of the film intensifies the suspense and keeps the audience engaged."Black Swan" is not only a psychological thriller but also a thought-provoking exploration of the sacrifices required in the pursuit of perfection. Nina's journey serves as a metaphor for the dark side that resides within all of us and the often dangerous consequences of suppressing it. The filmraises questions about the price of success and the toll it takes on one's mental well-being.In conclusion, "Black Swan" is a gripping and visually stunning film that delves into the psyche of a ballet dancer. Its exploration of duality, the pursuit of perfection, and the cost of ambition make it a thought-provoking and memorable cinematic experience. The exceptional performances, masterful direction, and captivating storytelling make "Black Swan" a must-watch for any film enthusiast.。

Blach Swan:The Lonely BalletBlack Swan is an examination of obsession.Obsession in striving for beauty, acceptance, and most of all perfection. The portrayal of the dancing world with all of its gossip and back biting was very realistic as was the competitive edge and deep fear of failure that was always present. With the background music of Tchaikovsky's “Swan Lake”,Nina is dangcing on the empty arena. She is lonely, only with the dismal music. It reveals the hardness and loneliness of a ballet dancer. They strive for beauty, elegance and perfection. Her mother used to be a ballet dancer, nothing but than a walk-on.Because she was pregnant, she had to give up her favourite job and took her daughter at home. She anchored all of her hopes in Nina,a lovely and naive girl.Different from girls of her age,Nina is a “sweet baby”:she has no time to fall in love, she must come back home timely everyday, she never go to the night club......a virginal drone who's devoted her life to dance and labored for years in the corps de ballet without a peep of protest. All of her behaviours are in the charge of her mother.Mum has a strong desire to be in possession of Nina and treats her as a baby who will nver grow up:she bought pink dolls for her and decorate her room into pink, which lead to the dependence and recreance of Nina in character.Just as most of traditional Chinese parents, she turned Nina into a obedient “sweet girl”.While she is dangcing,sh e never make mistakes as she knows the technique, however, she never lose and relax herself. She is beautiful, fearful, fragile, ideal casting of White Swan, but for her,it is difficult to handle both thewhite one and the black one.She wants to be perfect, but perfection is not just about control, she needs to let herself go,surprising herself and audience. In the film,Thomas, the president of the Ballet Theater,is the mentor of Nina to surpass herself and pursue perfection. He knows that there are two swans in Nina's mind. The suppression of various factors in the outside world, especially from her mother, does not inspire her character of black swan outl.He helps Nina realize her darkness in her mind.He helps Nina overcome her fearness and also leads to her self-destruction.Nina shows her perfect dance to the audience, but her split personality killed herself. On the stage, her perfect performance is her farewell ceremony to the white swan, the previous self.Black Swan is not a symbol of evil.It represents the desire, revolt. The only principle of Black Swan is the pursuit of pleasure and perfection.Black Swan explores the dichotomy of Nina involved in both loving and hating herself. This is a lonely, lonely ballet.

Black swan----Natalie portmannatalie

Black SwanIn this winter vacation, I watched <Black Swan> again and now, I’ll introduce this perfect movie to you, and I hope you’ll like it. About this movie, director Darren Aronofsky’s critical hit the Wrestler. Black Swan is his love-letter to the operatic world of ballet. I’ve no choice but to say, Black Swan gave me more than all sort of dance movie could in my life. The performances are excellent.Black Swan is a very well-made film with amazing senses of ballet, powerful acting and loose, confrontational camera-work, similar to that of the Wrestler. This film talk about the New York ballet troupe decided they’ll rephotograph <Swan Lake>, the chief Thomas wants to choose a new leader, and the leader must act white swan and black swan in the perform. In this time, the actress Nina comes, the girl livedwith her mother, study ballet when she know that, and have top skill, she hope she can win the role! But, in the competition, Nina find Lily is her huge rival. In the selection, Nina’s white swan was the best, but the part of black swan was not a patch on Lily’s performed. However, Nina feels she is sick, and she finds her back have some red spot. But she still wishes she can be the swan queen, so she finds the chief Thomas alone, wish Thomas can give a chance for her. Thomas seizes the chance to take action to kiss Nina and ask more, but Nina refused point-blank. Unbelievable, the thief chooses her, but her teammates have a suspicion that Nina use her hue get the role. In the cocktail party, Nina let off her resentful emotion, and so on. Many pressures on Nina’s shoulders, besides this, the flesh pain getting bad day by day, and this kind of pressures comes from social, family, herself, this force her in to death. As far as I concerned, 达伦·阿伦诺夫斯基isan excellent director, his Black Swan reaction more about humanity, tell us change between black and white of humanity is unregularly. Not only angel but also devil both of them is live in human’s inner soul and life. The movie also discuss the family’s education—the last generation rest them hopes on the coming generation, and the coming generation endure every kind of pressure. The pressure always drive/push people to the wall, some of them change into metamorphosis/ transfiguration, and it becomes a devil and live in human’s heart, every hour and moment never left. How terrible of it, isn’t it? I don’t know, how many coming generation are rested hopes on the shoulders, the parents need their children become the kind of people which they want, as for me, most of them are agony, unhappy and sad. This like foreordination, but more cruel than foreordination, cause we can change our foreordination, the inherit, the blood can’tchange. Then, people still to create the hope which didn’t belong to them.A child, if excessive protected by others, maybe he or she will become autophilia, this kind of autophilia didn’t comes from inner soul, it comes from the skill and the talent about something he take on. If leave from the fact (Like Nina she just can dance), so he is a miserable person, he just can like himself, he just can like “himself” this “person”.On the premise of their autophilia, due to parents always tell them “failure”, maybe in this time they improve the kind of ability about into self-communion, but this involves self-abased. They couldn’t do everything to perfect, and some words like “failure”, some sentence like “don’t like me” around, in this time, person start distrust themselves, then deny themselves. When they distrust themselves, the parents are start praise and confirm their children in everything, think highly of them. Then, children finds a warm, steady harbor, they finds depend. But, in this time they become tender and tender. So, things like this create a tender and contradiction person, or the kind of person like grass must take it careful. This kind of person start unlimited stretch they skill and talent due to they live in their autophilia and they are responsible for themselves on actions world. They do they best seek fame and fortune and perfect, meanwhile, they must be more careful cause they tender self-abased. Then, we can see the fact that depression/melancholia people always appear megrim/hallucination, leading them to do some autonomy action, and we can see a genius is growing up.This likes contradiction but coordinate, they are advanced each other but wipe out everything.Ultimate, create or destroy everything!after pindering this question on manyoccasions, I finally reached the opinion that it’s very important about the spirit of selflessness when we do any work. No matter work and art, all of them should have this spirit, so maybe we can reach the top hill and get the perfect, otherwise, you’ll get nothing in the end.At the beginning of the movie, I thought it’s a horrible movie, but when it’s end, I’m understand it involves many kind if elementary/element/substance. What means did the director want to express? I think different people different thoughts. Now, I want to share my views with you.1\NinaIn Nina’s “White Time”, her shoes are spherical, no aggressiveness gray snow boots, her scarf like swan fine hair give us warm feel, until she was choose as “Swan Queen”, that scarf disappeared, her coat change color- gray, it means squab/eyas decay.2\swanSwan is a complex image, its can deputy pure, meanwhile it’s also can representative carnal desire, another image of swan is artist perfect symbolize. In this movie, the swan though all the film, just like the music <Swan Lake> make the film like a melodrama.3\Black swanIn this movie, many women have the specialty/peculiarity of black swan. The first black swan, obviously, was Beth. The second black swan was Lily. The third was Nona’s another oneself. What is also worth nothing is that: Black swan is not the all stand for evil. Wicked and vicious. In my opinion, it delegates desire, struggle, disweak. The one only principle of black swan is seeks pleasant sensation.<Black Swan>also give me some inspiration. 1\ Not all the actress will be castingcouch/hidden rules, but all the boss hope casting couch the actress they like.2\ When family educate they child toachieve they dream, the child must be a tender person.3\ Want to get perfect must sacrifice more. 4\ If you were a “Sorry man”, you will get nothing at the end. That’s all.Thank you.。
