Explain the role of the lymphatic system in the body.答案:The lymphatic system plays a crucial role in maintaining the body's fluid balance and immune function. It is responsible for the circulation of lymph, a fluid containing white blood cells, throughout the body. This system helps to remove waste products, bacteria, and other foreign substances from the tissues and returns the excess fluid to the bloodstream. Additionally, the lymphatic system is integral to the immune response as it contains lymph nodes that filter out harmful substances and produce lymphocytes, which are essential for fighting infections.2. Describe the process of blood clotting.答案:Blood clotting, also known as coagulation, is a complex process that prevents excessive bleeding when a blood vessel is injured. It involves several steps: First, the damaged blood vessel constricts to reduce blood flow. Platelets, small cell fragments in the blood, adhere to the site of injury and aggregate to form a plug. Meanwhile, a series of clotting factors in the blood are activated in a cascade, leading to the conversion of fibrinogen into fibrin. Thefibrin forms a mesh that traps the platelet plug, creating a stable clot. Finally, once the blood vessel has healed, the clot is dissolved by the action of plasmin, an enzyme that breaks down fibrin.。

词组分析:Be wined and dined 意思不是饮酒和饮食,是款待的意思。

句子分析:句中并没有MBM,但是这里根据上下文的内容,隐含了MBM 在时下受到热情款待。

Sickness is part of the human condition. Doctors and pharmaceutical companies are necessary. Medications are necessary. And medications generally work, but MBM spins them to work better than they d o, to seem to work for other conditions that they don’t really work for, and to appear more side-effect free than they really are, and to almost always seem better than the old off-patent drugs.

Prevention is better than cure: out of a country's health budget, a large proportionshould be diverted from treatment to spending on health education and preventative measures. The rising cost of health care has become a problem in many countries in the world. In order to solve this problem, this is a big part of the nationalhealth budgetproposals for health education and disease prevention rather than cure. First of all, many diseases can be prevented, preventing a disease that is usuallymuch cheaper than treating. For example, people can prevent catching a cold, if they dress warmly and get good rest, when the weather is cold in winter. However, many people get sick because they do not, and spend more money, a doct123 is another caseof cancer seen in point, is the world's leading causes of death. But lung cancer, liver cancer and many other types of cancer can be effectively prevented, if the measures taken in the early stage, for their health. Smoke less or eat healthier food, such assmall things will keep thousands of households, become bankrupt, if patients take early cancer preventive measures. In addition, health education also plays a key role in improving people'shealth. Formore information about health, countries could help people understand the prevention of disease and the method to realize the importance of it.However, emphasis on disease prevention and medical significance can not be underestimated. After all, the prevention and treatment of only two different means ofmoving with the E12In short, we can save more money in health care and treatment of patients, ifwe usethe national health prevention and education, more money. That sounds like a big stride back towards EBM.”这听起来像是对循证医学的大步倒退。

Prevention
Increase daily activity to 30 minutes of vigorous exercise per day at least five times per week (multiply by three if horizontal);[35] Reduce sugar consumptions Decrease psychosocial stress.[41] Stress however plays a relatively minor role in hypertension (if it even plays any role in the development of hypertension at all is often disputed).[42] Specific relaxation therapies are not supported by the evidence.[43] For adults without a known diagnosis of hypertension, diabetes, hyperlipidemia, or cardiovascular disease, routine counseling to advise them to improve their diet and increase their physical activity has not been found to significantly alter behavior, and thus is not recommended.
Prevention
Currently practiced measures to prevent cardiovascular disease include: A low-fat, high-fiber diet including whole grains and plenty of fresh fruit and vegetables (at least five portions a day)[35][36] Tobacco cessation and avoidance of second-hand smoke[35] Limit alcohol consumption to the recommended daily limits[35] consumption of 1-2 standard alcoholic drinks per day may reduce risk by 30%[37][38] However excessive alcohol intake increases the risk of cardiovascular disease.[39] Lower blood pressures, if elevated Decrease body fat (BMI) if overweight or obese[40]
Pathophysiology
Obesity and diabetes mellitus are often linked to cardiovascular disease,[23] as are a history of chronic kidney disease and hypercholesterolaemia.[24] In fact, cardiovascular disease is the most life-threatening of the diabetic complications and diabetics are two- to four-fold more likely to die of cardiovascular-related causes than nondiabetics.
Types
**Cardiac dysrhythmias - abnormalities of heart rhythm
**Inflammatory heart disease
**Valvular heart disease
**Cerebrovascular disease - disease of blood vessels that supply blood to the brain such as stroke
**Rheumatic heart disease - heart muscles and valves damage due to rheumatic fever caused by streptococcal bacteria infections
Risk factors
Evidence suggests a number of risk factors for heart diseases: age, gender, high blood pressure, hyperlipidemia, diabetes mellitus, tobacco smoking, excessive alcohol consumption, sugar consumption,[9][10] family history, obesity, lack of physical activity, psychosocial factors, and air pollution.[2] While the individual contribution of each risk factor varies between different communities or ethnic groups the consistency of the overall contribution of these risk factors to epidemiological studies is remarkably strong.[11] Some of these risk factors, such as age, gender or family history, are immutable; however, many important cardiovascular risk factors are modifiable by lifestyle change, social change, drug treatment and prevention of Serrano's Cardiac Triad: hypertension, hyperlipidemia, and diabetes.
Pathophysiology
Population-based studies show that atherosclerosis, the major precursor of cardiovascular disease, begins in childhood. The Pathobiological Determinants of Atherosclerosis in Youth Study demonstrated that intimal lesions appear in all the aortas and more than half of the right coronary arteries of youths aged 7–9 years.[22] This is extremely important considering that 1 in 3 people will die from complications attributable to atherosclerosis. In order to stem the tide, education and awareness that cardiovascular disease poses the greatest threat, and measures to prevent or reverse this disease must be taken.
Cardiovascular disease is the leading cause of deaths worldwide, though, since the 1970s, cardiovascular mortality rates have declined in many high-income countries.[4][5] At the same time, cardiovascular deaths and disease have increased at a fast rate in low- and middle-income countries.[6] Although cardiovascular disease usually affects older adults, the antecedents of cardiovascular disease, notably atherosclerosis, begin in early life, making primary prevention efforts necessary from childhood.[7] There is therefore increased emphasis on preventing atherosclerosis by modifying risk factors, for example by healthy eating, exercise, and avoidance of smoking tobacco.
Types
**Coronary artery disease (also known as coronary heart disease and ischemic heart disease)
**Cardiomyopathy - diseases of cardiac muscle
**Hypertensive heart disease - diseases of the heart secondary to high blood pressure Heart failure **Cor pulmonale - a failure at the right side of the heart with respiratory system involvement
