本单元的“Story Time”故事讲述的是新学年到了，Zoom和Zip在商店里购买文具的趣事。Zoom按照新学年课程表开心地购置需要的学习用品，可是最后钱不够，只能舍弃心爱的足球。这个故事处于My week单元主题之下，是对一周学校课程与周末活动的内容的故事化复习。教师需要在故事教学过程中体现单元主题并进行内涵挖掘与升华，给学生提供更多思维与语言运用活动。
故事中：新学年开始了，Zoom和Zip在商店里购买学习用品，为新学期学习做准备。
故事后：回到家，爸爸和妈妈送给Zoom一件新学年礼物，是一把扫把，希望他能多做家务更能干，并且希望他更加用功，更加健康。Zoom写下了新学年的决心。
