以“走进经典”为主题的本届英语节今天就要结束了，我们似乎还沉浸在英语经典带给我们的享受之中。
一首首隽永如斯的英语经典歌曲，一场场抑扬顿挫的英文经典朗诵，一张张极富创意的英语板报，尽情地展示着同学们的自信与才华。
语言的本质是工具，但人类在进步，时代在发展，社会在前进，外语已从一种工具变为一种思想，一种知识库。
没有掌握外语犹如缺乏一种思想，缺少了一个重要的知识源泉一样。
多学一门外语，等于在本来没有窗的墙上开了一排窗，你可以领略到前所未有的另外一面风光。
十九世纪德国文学家，现代高等教育奠基人洪堡说过：“学会一门外语或许意味着在迄今为止的世界观领域中获得一个新的出发点。
”学会一门外语，不但是多了一双眼睛、一对耳朵，甚至还多了一个头脑！而英语作为当今世界上主要的国际通用语言，使用范围非常广泛，全世界75％的电视节目是英语，四分之三的邮件是用英语书写，英语学习的重要性不言而喻。
语言是社会发展的产物，没有社会的发展也就没有交流的必要，当然也就不需要语言了！纵观历史发展过程，文化从一开始便有机地渗进了语言的各个方面，因此，语言学习离不开文化学习，学习语言，也需要了解一个国家一个民族的文化。
我们在学习英语时，应了解它的文化背景知识以及社会风俗习惯，所以，学习英语一定要掌握英语国家的相关文化背景。
那么什么是文化？简单地讲，就是讲这种语言
的民族在其发展、生存过程中所形成的一切有利于社会进步和发展全部知识性的东西。
要学好英语就必须对英语民族的文化传统有较深的理解，这包括：社会、经济、历史演进、风俗礼仪及思维习惯等。
而要做到这些，走进英语经典，品读英语经典是一个很好的途径。
英语经典是人类文明宝库中璀璨的瑰（gui）宝，是经久不衰的传世之作，在内容与思想方面具有时代的代表性，在语言表达方面具有典范性、权威性。
品读这样的经典，不仅使英语学习变得丰富有趣，而且还提高了我们的人文素养，更重要的是我们“学习英语，享受英语”，使英语学习变得丰富有趣，做英语学习的主人，收获英语学习的乐趣。
我们在英语节的大舞台上展示着风采、收获了成长。
无论世界如何变化、文化如何变迁，英语经典的价值永存，不会因时间的流逝而磨灭，它们会一直给人以深邃而丰富的涓涓启迪。
品味经典，并不与快节奏的现代文化背道而驰，相反能为我们提供一片难得的精神憩（qi）园，一个与智慧和勇敢的心灵交流的窗口，一种在文字中审视自己、把握生活、提炼生命的途径。
让我们走进经典、品味经典。
