本课的授课对象是四年级学生。
经过一年半的英语学习，四年级的学生已经掌握不少与本课相关联的地点类、国家类等词汇，同时他们能熟练运用Where进行提问，对于目标句型（Where are you going? / I’m going to ……）表达的意义比较感兴趣且能正确理解。
对于英语学习，他们展现出较为稳定的兴趣和信心，他们喜欢表现自己，对于和生活贴近的话题特别感兴趣，乐于参与合作，这对于本课的导入和拓展升华极为有利。
但是，四年级的学生中也存在良莠不齐的现象，这就需要教师在设计教学活动的时候，注意体现层次性和渐进性，照顾不同层次的学生学习需求。
总体而且，本课中学情准备充分，学习难度适中，学生易于掌握并语用。
