犹太人认为这是极其恶毒的亵渎话，因此把耶稣交给了当时在巴勒斯坦的罗马统治者，要求将这个“狂妄之徒”处死。
在十字架上被钉死后，耶稣又出现在他的信徒们面前，号召大家把爱和宽容的信仰散播到世界各地。
忽略了宗教上的本来意义，现在的许多西方人只把这个节日当成了一个互换“复活节彩蛋”的节日，还美其名曰是“复活兔”赠送的。
大家可以看到，就像圣诞节一样，以前的宗教成份已经融入到了复活节当中，在复活节形成之前，人们正是利用“彩蛋”来暗示春天的到来和自然万物的新生。
万圣节
（All Hallow's Day）是西方的鬼节，时间是每年公历的11月1日，庆祝活动从10月31日晚开始，称为万圣节前夜（Halloween）。
目前流行在习惯说英语的一些国家。
在前夜，人们会按照风俗带上面具、穿上奇异的衣服打扮成鬼怪的模样，家家户户都会用南瓜雕空做成灯。
孩子们会打扮好后提着南瓜灯挨家挨户讨要糖果。
人们在这天并不拜祭祖先或鬼神，据说打扮成鬼怪模样和做南瓜灯是为了吓跑出来作恶的鬼怪。
关于这一日得起源，存在四种不同的说法，但都与鬼有关。
流传至今，已经几乎没有了任何宗教或迷信色彩成分，人们的打扮已经不止是鬼怪，任何人都可以随意发挥，很多地区每年都会组织举行大型化妆游行活动，热闹非凡。
父亲节
( Father's Day)起源与20世纪初的美国。
据说当时在华盛顿州有一个人，她年幼丧母，兄弟姐妹六人全靠父亲抚养成人。
父亲的这种既为人父，又为人母的自我牺牲精神极大地感动了她。
长大后，她积极倡导父亲节，并说服当时华盛顿的Ministerial Society of Spokane作一次特殊的礼拜仪式向父亲们表达敬意。
后来在1916年她的建议得到了Woodwork Wilson总统的官方承认。
从此父亲节便成为了美国的一项传统节日。
按照习惯，父亲节这一天，做孩子的通常一大早就起床`给父亲做一顿丰盛的早餐，端到父亲的床头，感谢父亲的养育之恩。
另外，父亲节这一天，孩子们还向父亲赠送礼物，所送的一般是父亲喜欢的衣服和爱喝的酒。
愚人节
April Fool`s Day每年的4月1日是愚人节,这个节日的确实来源不大清楚,但是在16世纪的法国已有类似的传统存在,现在他英国各地都有类似习俗.在这天,人们可以尽情愚弄周遭的人,但都是无伤大雅的玩意.如果你在这天看到英国的报纸或听到英国的广播等,那么你一定要小心防止受骗.。
