Both Transmitters arecompatible with the DXLink HDMI RX and support InstaGate Pro® Technology. TheInstruction Manual – DXLink Twisted Pair Transmitters /Receiver contains completedocumentation (including full specifications and supported input and outputGeneral Specifications* “Common building” is defined as: Where the walls of the structure(s) are physicallyconnected and the structure(s) share a single ground reference.InstallationSystem SetupThese Transmitters receive an HDMI signal (or DVI via a cable adapter) or an analogvideo signal plus an audio signal from the source device. The audio can be eitherdigital audio embedded with the HDMI signal or analog stereo audio. Both the videoand audio are transmitted over twisted pair cable to a DXLink Input Board in a switcherthat supports DXLink Technology (see the example in FIG.2). From the Input Board, the signal can be routed through an output board. If the output board is a DXLinkOutput Board, a DXLink HDMI RX is required between the board and the destination.DIP Switch #3 ToggleBefore mounting the Transmitter – If a network connection is required, DIPswitch #3 Toggle must be set to ON. #3 Toggle is shipped in the OFF position. Whenflipped ON (up), the Transmitter will attempt a DHCP connection. Flipping the #3Toggle ON is the only way to access the Wallplate TX and Decor TX in NetLinx Studio. For both types of Transmitters, #1, #2, and #4 Toggles are non-functional (mustremain OFF).IP Addressing ModesDHCP Mode (enabled when #3 Toggle is flipped ON)In DHCP Mode, the Transmitter attempts to get a DHCP lease (consisting of an IPaddress, gateway, and other network parameters). If the attempt fails, the Transmitterconfigures itself for a link-local address, but periodically re-tries DHCP and re-assignsthe IP to a valid DHCP grant if successful. At any time, if the Transmitter determinesthat its IP address has changed, it will disconnect and reconnect to the Master.Static IP Mode (set with ID button or Telnet command)With #3 Toggle set to ON, press ID for 10 seconds to assign an address of 192.168.1.2or use a Telnet command to set unit to Static IP Mode (see the Instruction Manual).Mounting the Wallplate TX and Decor Wallplate TXWallplate TX – The holes in the Wallplate TX mounting bracket are designed toaccommodate a variety of gang boxes using 2 or 4 screws (standard and metric areprovided).

When installingprobes in explosion hazardous areas the instructions included in the accompanyingprobe certification must also be observed.51.1ApplicationThe Silometer FM X 570 is designed for level measurement with a capacitance or hydrostatic pressure probe in safe or explosion hazardous areas. It possesses an intrinsically-safe sensor circuit conforming to EEx ia IIC and IIB. A list of certificated combinations is to be found in »Notes on Safety« preceding this chapter. A working system for level measurement comprises:•Silometer FMX 570 transmitter,•Capacitance, Multicap or Deltapilot S probe •Electronic insertSilometer functionThe capacitance or pressure measured by the sensor is converted into a frequency signal by the electronic insert located in its head. The Silometer FMX 570 supplies the power and receives a level-proportional frequency signal over a two-core cable. The signal is then processed to provide a level or volume measurement.Fail-safe operationIf a fault condition is detected, e.g. a break in sensor - transmitter cable, the analogue signal switches to -10 % or +110 % level or holds the last measured value. In addition, the alarm relay de-energises.211FMX 570mA10/4...20 mA,0/2...10V outputSilometer FMX 570transmitterLiquidsBulk solidsChannel 1Ex non-Exor orBA119Y01Fig. 1.1:Standard application showing Silometer FMX 570 controllinglevel measurement Capacitance probeDeltapilotfrequencyanalogdigitalcurrent voltagesens. In both ca ses the mea sured va lue is processed by the electronic insert and passed on as a frequency signal. The probe and vessel form the two plates of a ca pa citor, the tota l ca pa cita nce of which ca n then be ca lcula ted from the formula :C tot =C 1+ 2πε0εr x LpF (1)--------------------------------ln (D/d)wherebyC tot =total capacitanceC 1=capacitance or feed through ε0=dielectric constant of airεr =rel. dielectric constant of productD=diameter of vessel d=diameter of probe L=length of probe immersed inproduct in metersIf the product conducts, the capacitance is determined by the thickness a nd properties of the insul a ting m a teri a l surrounding the probe. Equ ation (1)applies, whereby the variable D is now the diameter of the probe with insulation. In this ca se the ca pa cita nce va ries by a pprox.300 pF/m.Measurement is independent of dielectric constant and not affected by changes in this variable. In an open vessel, the level is derived from the hydrosta tic pressure exerted by a column of liquid on a probe placed at its foot. The pressure exerted is:p 1=ρ x g x h(2)whereby p 1 =hydrost a tic pressureρ =density of the liquidg =acceleration due to gravity h =height of the liquid column.Assuming a constant density, the level of the liquid ca n be ca lcula ted from the pressure measured by the Deltapilot.BA119Y05dLDC 1Fig. 1.3Capacitance measurement principleBA119E06dConductingproductLD Fig. 1.4Measurement in conducting mediaBA119Y07p 1 = ρ x g x hhatmospheric pressurep 1Fig. 1.5Hydrostatic measurement principleCapacitance measurementHydrostatic measurementMeasurement in conducting mediaSilometer FMX 570Chapter 1: Introduction72InstallationThis Chapter describes:•The probes for use with the Silometer FMX 570•Silometer installation in a rack or Monorack housing •Transmitter wiring •Sensor connection.•Technical data.Warning!•The Silometer FMX 570 transmitter must be installed outside explosion hazardous areas.2.1Probes and sensorsTable 2.1 lists the probes most frequently used with the Silometer FMX 570 transmitter. In addition to those listed, all probes which can be used with an EC 37 Z or EC 47 Z electronic insert can be connected to the transmitter.
