九.产品说明书英译的特点
1.专有名词或专业术语的英译 术语的准确翻译是产品说明书英译的难点。它要求译者有广
博的知识，甚至要超越原作者。因为作者没有提到的，或认为不 言自明的，正需要译者向读者做出说明和解释。
根据科技翻译的一般性原则，中文产品说明书中术语一般应 采取直译的方法。当中文术语照字面意思直接翻译成相对应、对 等的英文术语的相关信息（所指、内涵、用法）都基本吻合时， 直译法具有简单明了的效果。如：“洁面泡沫”直译为“clean foam”；食品中的“防腐剂”和“稳定剂”直译为“preservative” 和“stabilizer”等。

（一）宣传产品，指导消费
宣传产品以引起消费者的购买欲望，从而实现购买， 促进商品流通，是产品说明书的基本属性。
（二）扩大消息，促进消费
产品说明书在普及科学文化知识，扩大信息流量，在 信息传播、复制、交流、利用、反馈等方面，作用十分重 要，是因为它在社会生产过程中，实现了生产、交换、分 配、消费四个环节中交换和消费两个环节的必然链接。
（三）传播知识，创造品牌
产品说明书的内容常常涉及到知识、科技等的普及、 宣传和利用，凝聚着知识的结晶而被人们传播、吸收。生 产者实现销售，是从制作产品说明书起步，消费者认识产 品，往往是从认识产品说明书开始，是创造品牌的必须环 节。品牌可以借着产品说明书推波助澜，使品牌有形象的、 直观的视觉效果。

The company developed series of neutral grounding stainless steel resistor cabinets with import special alloy for 6 – 35KV power systems. Grounding capacitance currents in a cable power system is comparatively large. The current may resulted in arc grounding overvoltage one it exceeds specified value.
