本节课是外研版《英语》（三起）第四册Module5 Unit1 I was two.的教学内容。这是一节对话课，课文的情境是Amy到Lingling 家做客，对Lingling家墙上挂着的照片感兴趣，展开了照片上grandparents 和Lingling过去和现在变化的对比，引出一般过去时态的语言结构学习。主要学习“人称+was/were”来描述人或物过去的状态，其中融入了与一般现在时态的对比。这对学生来说，属于初次接触。
根据整体性教学原则，我以“changes”为主线，在语篇中整体引入，让学生通过观察图片，大胆预测、提出问题、观看动画解决问题、听录音寻找信息等任务获取知识和理解。使学生自主发现“描述过去与现在的状态时be动词的变化”规律。语言操练中，教师让学生以“互助合作”的方式，通过多种形式的活动，如模仿朗读、角色扮演、图片对比等，紧扣文本目标语言进行运用，巩固新词和过去时态的语言结构，并在“谈论自己和家人的成长变化”中进行生活化拓展的过程中内化语言，感受生活的变迁和成长的快乐。
