I love seeing my friends and saying hi to them as we all line up before the bell rings.The morning at school is always busy with lots of learning! We have reading, writing, math, science, and more. I really enjoy math because I love working with numbers and solving problems. Reading is fun too, especially when we get to read cool stories or learn about interesting topics.Around noon, it's time for lunch and recess! My friends and I race out to the playground as soon as we're dismissed. We love playing games like tag, jump rope, or just running around and using our imaginations. Sometimes we'll play sports like soccer or basketball too. After working up an appetite, we head inside to eat our lunches. My mom always packs me a delicious and healthy meal.The afternoon at school flies by with more learning and fun activities. We might have art, music, or gym class. I love art because I get to be creative and make awesome projects. Music is great too because I love singing along and learning new songs.Finally, the final bell rings, and it's time to head home! Sometimes I stay for an after-school activity like sports practice or a club, but other days I walk home with my friends. It's a pretty normal day for me, but I think it's fun to share what I do.I wake up at 7:00 AM when my mom calls up the stairs "Time to get up for school!" I stretch out my arms and legs and then hop out of bed. First thing I do is get dressed for the day. I pick out a t-shirt, shorts, and my favorite pair of sneakers.Next, I head downstairs for breakfast. My little brother is usually already at the table eating cereal. I like to have pancakesor waffles if there's time. My dad makes the best pancakes! He puts chocolate chips in them which is so yummy. If we're running late, I just have a banana or granola bar.After breakfast, I brush my teeth and grab my backpack. My mom drives me and my brother to school at 8:15. We live pretty close so it's just a quick 5 minute drive. I go to Oakwood Elementary and I'm in 4th grade this year.My first class of the day is math. I used to not really like math, but this year it's been much more fun. We've been learning about fractions and how to add and subtract them. Just this week we started on multiplying fractions which is super confusing but I'm getting the hang of it. Math class goes until 9:30.Then it's reading time from 9:35 to 10:20. We're reading the book Charlotte's Web as a class. It's about a pig named Wilbur who gets saved by a super cool spider named Charlotte. I really like the book so far! After that is writing class where we've been working on essays.At 10:45 we go to recess for 25 minutes. I love recess because I get to run around and play fun games with my friends. My best friends are Sam and Jada. Sometimes we play kickball ordodgeball. Other times we just hang out and talk. We come up with the craziest ideas and stories!Once we're all tuckered out from recess, we go back inside for science at 11:10. Science is awesome because we get to do experiments. Recently we've been learning about the states of matter and doing tests to see what happens when solids turn into liquids and liquids into gases. It's so cool to watch!Then we break for lunch at 12:00. I usually get the hot lunch which could be chicken nuggets, pizza, or my favorite - nachos! Sometimes I pack a lunchbox with a sandwich, chips, and fruit snacks. I sit with Sam, Jada, and a couple other friends. We talk about our favorite video games, movies, YouTubers and stuff like that.After lunch it's time for social studies at 12:45. We're studying US states and capitals right now. I have to admit it's not my favorite subject, but I'm trying hard to learn them all. Our teacher likes to make it fun with games and songs to help us memorize them.Finally at 1:30 we have gym class until 2:15. I get so sweaty but I love gym! We run laps, play basketball and dodgeball, jump rope, and do fun exercises. I'm not the most athletic kid, but I just try my best.Once the school day is done at 2:45, I meet up with my mom who picks me and my brother up. We head home and I have a snack like apple slices or graham crackers. I watch a little TV and start my homework.For homework, I have usually around 30 minutes of math worksheets, spelling words to study, and maybe a reading assignment. I try to get it all done before dinner at 6:00. After dinner, I take a shower and then relax by reading, playing video games, or going outside if it's nice out.Bedtime is at 9:00 on school nights. I put on my PJs, brush my teeth again, and my mom tucks me in to sleep for another day tomorrow. I'm usually so tired that I fall asleep pretty quickly!That's pretty much a normal day for me.
