advanced calculation
heres an interesting mathematical equation that someone sent me the other day:
pick up a calculator and consecutively enter the numbers of your birthday.
add 754.
subtract 753.
add 1.
now, divide this number by yesterdays date and add 59 to the total.
subtract 59.
add the number of fingers on your right hand.
subtract the number of toes on your left foot.
divide this by any number between one and ten.
is the number you came up with your age? no? dang. oh well. it didnt work for me either but if it had it would have been pretty cool, wouldnt it?

five-years-old seems to be an age where a child will rebel against the word no. i know my son knows what the word means
because, when told no, he will respond by saying no. i have
no idea where he gets this trait. it must be something he has picked up from school.
i never had that problem when i was his age. i never went against my parents wishes. well, except for that one time when i locked myself to the dining room table and my brother had to come home to release me because my mom couldnt figure out how to work the
combination lock. oh yes, there was that time when i was told not to play around the house that was being built down the street but i crawled around in the attic, fell through the new sheetrock and my dad had to pay for it. and there was the
incident when i painted my name with nail polish on the brick fireplace hearth after explicitly being told not to touch the fingernail polish. once, i was told not to play with matches and burned my thumb moments afterwards. then there was the time when i was told not to swim too far out into the ocean but i did anyway. my dad almost drowned while saving my life.so you see, i was a good kid. where does my kid get it
from?corsage
my mother in-law once owned and operated a very successful catering business. after retiring, she still organizes the occasional event for church and civic groups. her service is the kind of thing that is done so well that people dont even realize all that she has done. many times her efforts go without thanks.
she recently coordinated a major event at her church where close to three hundred people were slated to attend. it was a formal event。

七年级下册英语演讲稿篇一:初一英语演讲稿A Lesson from NatureLadies and gentlemen: Good morning! Today, the title of my speech is A Lesson from Nature.Around us , there are plants, animals and many other things. We live in nature, so to keep the balance of nature is very important for us. But today, too many trees are still being cut down in many countries and flood all over the world are getting more and more serious, A lot of land has gone with them. This is a lesson from nature. When people move into a new place, they often cut down trees or pull out many wild plants to make farmland. They don’t know that trees can stop flood and windfrom washing or blowing the earth away, and that many of these wild plants are food for some wild animals. If the animals can’t find enough plants to eat, they will die or have to leave the place. In one part of the United States, for example, the deer there like to eat a kind of wild flowers. The mountain tigers there eat the deer. But people killed many mountain tigers to protect the deer. soon there were so many deer that the ate up all the wild flowers. Then the deer began to eat the green leaves of the young trees .so the farmers thought of ways to protect their trees, then the deer had nothing to eat and many of them died. The number of trees, deer, tigers, wild flowers and plants has changed much—less and less. We need to do more to keep the balance of nature.Thank youLi Fushifrom middle school. What life is about“Good morning! Ladies and gent lemen”. Today, the title of my speech is “What life is about”As we all know, the most important thing in life is our attitude towards it, lots of men have tried different ways of treating life, and some succeeded, some failed, and here are some of the tips they left us. Life isn’t about keeping score. Life isn’t about your shoes or your hair or the color of your skin. In fact it’s not about if you have lots of friends or if you are alone, and it’s not about how accepted or unaccepted you are. Life just isn’t about that. But life is about whom you love and who you hurt. It’s about how you feel about yourself. It’s about trust, happiness and compassion. Life is about avoiding jealousy, overcoming ignorance andbuilding confidence. It’s about what you say and what you mean. It’s about seeing people for who they are and not what they have. And we should always remember to be ourselves. Other might have things that we desire but being what we really are is the only trail leading to the true colors of life. Most of all, it’s about choosing to use your life to touch someone else’s in a way that could have never been achieved otherwise. We’ve learnt how to make a living but not a life, we’ve added years to life, but not life to years. And it is time for us to choose whether to make a difference in our life. And these choices are what life is about.

1Good morning, dear teachers and fellow students:Today, I would like to talk about the importance of time management.Time is one of the most valuable resources that we have. It is a limited resource that once is used up, cannot be regained. Therefore, it is important that we learn to manage it wisely.Firstly, good time management helps us to be more productive. When we plan ahead, we can assign specific tasks to specific blocks of time. This helps eliminate distractions and allows us to focus better on the task at hand.Secondly, good time management helps us to reduce stress. When we have a clear plan and schedule, we can complete our work on time and avoid last-minute cramming. This reduces the pressure we feel and allows us to work in a more relaxed and focused manner. Finally, good time management helps us to achieve our goals. When we have a clear plan and schedule, we can work towards our goals step by step. This helps us to make progress and achieve success in all areas of life.In conclusion, good time management is essential to our success in life. By managing our time wisely, we can be more productive, reduce stress, and achieve our goals. Let's all work towards being better time managers and make the most of our time!谢谢!Translation:早上好,亲爱的老师和同学们:今天,我想谈谈时间管理的重要性。

【篇⼀】七年级学⽣英语演讲稿 Ladies and Gentlemen: My topic is Honesty. As a correspondent of the Qingdao Morning News, I visited Dr. James Gilman, the President of the International Committee for Marco Polo Studies in England. In this picture, this is James, and this is me and we are looking at a dragon’s tooth. This is a true story. 65 years ago, James lived in Qingdao. Then he was only 5 years old. He often visited the Aquarium and was fascinated by a creature on display there, which he thought was a dragon. He was afraid of its sharp teeth and wanted one to keep as a treasure. In the late 1930s, when the Japanese occupied Qingdao, his family had to leave. On his last day in Qingdao, he ran to the Aquarium and pulled out one of the teeth from the dragon’s mouth. He kept the tooth for the next 65 years, but the feeling of guilt at having stolen it was there in the background all through his life. It was always on his conscience, and the feeling intensified as he became older. Finally he decided to put right his childish error. In 20xx, he visited Qingdao and returned it to the Aquarium with his sincere apologies. He received a warm welcome. When James visited Qingdao, I accompanied him all the time and reported on his visit. I was deeply touched by his honesty. It has taught me a lot. I think to err is human. The important thing is to have the courage to admit and correct one’s error. Honesty is a vital quality of human behaviour. So we should try to keep an honest mind in everything we say and do. I would like to say to all of my friends: Let’s be honest people of good moral character. Thank you.【篇⼆】七年级学⽣英语演讲稿 hello,my name is vivian.today i’ll tell you a story about helen keller. helen keller was an amercian writer ,she was born in 1880.she was deaf-blind because she had a disease when she was 1 year old.but with the help of her teacher anne sullivan, she learned to talk with her fingers, speak, write and read the books for blinders.she became a student of harvard university and she became a great writer.she died in 1968. now,i’ll tell you the story about her.one day ,in the afternoon, helen and mrs sullivan had a dispute of the word “cup”and “water”.mrs sullivan wanted helen to know “cup”is”cup”,”water”is”water”.but helen couldn't understand the difference between”cup”and “water”.she thought”water”could be “cup”and”cup”could be “water”.mrs sullivan had not ideas ,so she let helen praciece the word “doll”and touch the doll with helen’s fingers. helen was angry and bored, she threw the doll to the ground.then ,mrs sullivan and helen went out to play.when mrs sullivan washed helen’s hands, the water was flowing on helen’s hands.mrs sullivan wrote the word ‘water’on helen’s hand.she wrote many times, helen knew the water was flowing on her hands and understood the meaning of the word”water”suddenly.in the same way, helen learnd many many new words.finaly she became a great writer. this is my story, thank you .【篇三】七年级学⽣英语演讲稿 Mother Nature is an exquisite and complex life-system. It's charm appears in the trees, stream, soil, insects, moss and fungus, all the things on the earth in different shapes, which are interdependent. When you get close to nature, please remember, each tree, stone and species of animals here has lived harmoniously for hundreds, thousands or even millions of years. When we pass away, they will continue to live. They are the real masters, while we are just the passer-by. However, the conduct we unconsciously do, such as picking, lumbering, tramping and abusing can probably destroy the balance of their life. Therefore, we must reduce our bad influence as much as possible. While you are enjoying the nature, do not forget please, the beauty of the lives also needs to be concerned with and to be protected. Each life on the earth has a long and touching evolutionary story. From the origin, the lives of the human being are equal to those of others; they both are the composing parts of Mother Nature. Nevertheless, for some inexplicable reasons, the human becomes the spirits of all creatures. Of course, it is the result of the evolution, but still we should be grateful to all our companions in nature for the opportunity they offer. In spite of this, humans cannot live without earth. They live on the earth, drink the sweet water, and enjoy the sunshine, the air, the sky, the fruit; the grains utilize the energy and so on. In a word, the human being cannot live without nature, and Mother Nature makes us grow stronger. I do not like the word "Pet", but preferring the word "Animal" instead. I have been loving animal since I was just a little boy. When thinking of the "Pet Fashion", I always feel much annoyed. For the animals will be given a shackle and lose their liberty if they become someone's pets. Their natural attribution can be deprived, too. Up to now, relying on their scientific power, the human have opened up too much and over developed nature, in order to fill up their growing appetites of wealth. They destroy the balance of nature, however, they don't realize, their own development and existence will be threatened. Therefore, our sights should be focused on nature and we should try to develop the concept of "keeping human and nature in unity". We should lay emphasis on our education with consider cultural and natural emotion. To use the vivid example to wake up the conscience in people's hearts. To love nature is to love our mankind. As the new generation who enter the new century, we should make efforts to love and respect nature, to treat it well and protect it. At last, we have the night to enjoy it.。

初一英语演讲稿1Why does football get people into a frenzy?Who is your idol? It may be Napoleon, Picasso, or Michael Jackson. But who is my idol? Can you guess? It is Ronaldo. He is the No. 1 super star of football.Football is a game in which 22 people chase one ball around a large field. The aim of the game is to get the ball into the net to score. After all, it’s such an easy game, and yet people go crazy mad over it. The answer lies in two facts. One is the game itself. Sometimes it is beyond any description. Football is a game of passes and techniques, passion and love, more importantly, unity is the key---the whole team working as one, united they will never be defeated. The European’s style. of play is like a Waltz, the Brazilian like a Samba, and the passionate Argentineans play as if they are doing a Tango. Football is so unpredictable, so unbelievable. You will never know who will win until the last minute. Especially when suddenly there is a goal, the fans who have been sitting on the edge of their seats, will be wild with joy and excitement; and the losers with disappointed hearts will despair over their teams. The other is of course the super stars. Each one has his own personality, just like my idol Ronaldo. When he smiles, we allsmile with him. Who can forget that buck-toothed smile, or that unique hairstyle. during the 20xx World Cup. Ronaldo was born to a poor family. He has set an example to children who can’t afford a pair of shoes, but have talent and a passion for football. He gives them confidence and hope of a better future.Football is the game that wins everyone’s heart and the best game ever invented.为什么足球会让人变得疯狂?谁是你的偶像?这可能是拿破仑,毕加索和迈克尔·杰克逊。

Whether time find us far apart or it keeps us close together, they are always standing by my side.My future will be bright with all the close and caring friends of mine. Whenever I am sad and down, I know they would holdmy hands and warm my heart. My future will be bright with the belief in brighter days. Life doesn't always play by rules, and we must face the fact that there are days that things could be better. But I have a belief which see me through the dark times.I have a belief that joys once lost can always be found.I have a belief that there is rainbows after every storm.I have a belief that in the long run, my efforts will give back as much as I give, without a doubt. This belief gives me hope that is as certain as sun when the world seems to be wearing a frown. It is a steady and joyful light in my life.It is a blessing I continue to count on through the years. It is a light that will shine in me until the end of time.It is a treasure a million times more valuable than the ones some people spend a lifetime trying to find. Now, m dear friends, carry the sun inside you, and reach out for the dreams that guide you where you want to go. Then today I'd like to talk something about which is more important, time or money. Some people often say:“money is more important than time.”they think that if people have money. They can buy clothes, foods, drinks, houses, cars, computers and so o n. But l don’t think so. Because when time is gone we can't get it back. But we can keep on making more money. We can use time to get money. However we can’t use money to get time. Lost wealth maybe replaced by industry. Lost knowledge by study. Lost health by temperance or medicine, but lost time is gone for ever. I cannot afford to waste my time making money. So I think time is more important than money. We must make full use of our time to study and work. Each moment in history is a fleeting time, precious and unique.。

【篇⼀】七年级英语演讲稿 Hello everyone,it's really my honor to be here.Today, shall we talk about courage. Courage is not only found in the heat of war or the mighty works of brave men and women. Courage is the mother taking care of her sick child in the early morning hours. Courage is the father who shows up on time everyday at a boring, low-paying, dead-end job to feed and clothe his family. Courage comes in many forms, not only from thoughts and deeds of greatness, but in the routine, everyday art of living. When life gets you down, when it seems that your world is at an end, take courage and go the next step. You will be amazed at the power and strength you have inside. Just gather up enough courage to take you through this day. You only have to live one day at a time. You do not have to deal with all your troubles at one time. Like the Scotsman said, "The troubles of tomorrow must wait until this day is done." Yes, courage comes from deep within the heart and flushes away the paralysis created by fear. A song, a story, a poem or a friend could re-ignite the spark of courage and inspire us to take the next step to success. That’s all, thank you!【篇⼆】七年级英语演讲稿 Ladies and Gentlemen , Good morning/afternoon! I’m very glad to stand here and give you a short speech. today my topic is “youth”. I hope you will like it , and found the importance in your youth so that more cherish it. First I want to ask you some questions: 1、 Do you know what is youth? 2、 How do you master your youth? Youth Youth is not a time of life, it is a state of mind ; it is not rosy cheeks , red lips and supple knees, it is a matter of the emotions : it is the freshness ; it is the freshness of the deep springs of life . Youth means a temperamental predominance of courage over timidity of the appetite , for adventure over the love of ease. This often exists in a man of 60 more than a boy of 20 . Nobody grows old merely by a number of years . We grow old by deserting our ideals. Years wrinkle the skin , but to give up enthusiasm wrinkles the soul . Worry , fear , self –distrust bows the heart and turns the spirit back to dust . Whether 60 of 16 , there is in every human being ‘s heart the lure of wonders, the unfailing childlike appetite of what’s next and the joy of the game of living . In the center of your heart and my heart there’s a wireless station : so long as it receives messages of beauty , hope ,cheer, courage and power from men and from the infinite, so long as you are young . When the aerials are down , and your spirit is covered with snows of cynicism and the ice of pessimism, then you are grown old ,even at 20 , but as long as your aerials are up ,to catch waves of optimism , there is hope you may die young at 80. Thank you!【篇三】七年级英语演讲稿 Gratitude, it though is a verb, a smile movement, actually, achieves truly grateful person but little little. As the 21st century, we first Thanksgiving of should be parents. Maybe, you wasn't thinking, from your newborn then, until the girl, to youth contradiction of strong and courageous of boy, who you give at most? Needless to say, of course, is parents! So we must do "the 'parents' dripping of grace, when animals are reported." We have today happiness of life, have a warm home, safe, do have a happy, no famine, well-groomed, when leisure read kinds of extra readings do, here everything, and who creates? Are the parents to be thankful for, don't we? Although some classmates hatred parents leave task is too heavy, so that the children are suffocatively come, I want to say is: you don't have to for work and exhaustion of body and mind; Noroom to live without bothering to care, and your biggest task is to learn, that's still not enough? Remember a stormy night, bean big rain some cracking hit the window. That night, I suddenly went limp body, ZhiChan, awakened the sleeping mom, mom took a look, 39 degrees thermometer. Now god panic, hurriedly woke daddy, daddy to the kitchen and TuiShaoYao and water, I take next, he lay in bed and absently fell asleep. I woke up after shut-eye, opens his eyes and finds that parents are still in my heart guard, beside a kind of unspeakable felling ` ` ` ` ` ` I really thank god, let me incarnate upon parents' knees, such as the most extensive and most without parents unconditional love, with all the true love sloping, all emotions to perfusion, a bit does not attend his own labor and hardship, from early parenting, can I tarnished write comments today account of gratitude. Thanksgiving is a way, Thanksgiving is a kind of state. Only learn Thanksgiving, can get the respect of others and loved ones.。

Today, the title of my speech is A Lesson from Nature.Around us , there are plants, animals and many other things. We live in nature, so to keep the balance of nature is very important for us. But today, too many trees are still being cut down in many countries and flood all over the world are gettingmore and more serious, A lot of land has gone with them. This is a lesson from nature. When people move into a new place, they often cut down trees or pull out many wild plants to make farmland. They don’t know that trees can stop flood and wind from washing or blowing the earth away, and that many of these wild plants are food for some wild animals. We need to do more to keep the balance of nature.Thank you!七年级英语演讲稿范文(四)Good morning, ladies and gentlemen, I’m very glad to make a speech here. I'm so excited to be here today to talk about something that's really important to me – protecting our planet! As kids, we might think that taking care of the environment is just for grown-ups, but the truth is, we can all do our part to make a difference.First of all, let's talk about why it's so important to take care of our planet. The Earth is our home, and it's the only one we've got! It provides us with everything we need to survive – air to breathe, water to drink, food to eat, and a place to live. But unfortunately, our planet is facing some big problems because of things like pollution, deforestation, and climate change.Pollution is one of the biggest threats to our planet. It's when harmful substances like chemicals, smoke, and garbage get released into the air, water, or soil. This can make people sick, harm animals and plants, and damage the environment. One of the main causes of pollution is the burning of fossil fuels like coal and oil for energy. When we drive cars or use electricity from power plants that burn these fuels, it releases harmful gases into the air.Deforestation is another big problem. This is when forests are cut down or burned to make room for things like farms, buildings, or roads. Trees are super important because they produce oxygen, provide homes for animals, and help to keepour air clean. But when we cut down too many trees, it can lead to soil erosion, loss of wildlife habitats, and even climate change.Speaking of climate change, this is probably one of the biggest environmental issues we're facing today. Climate change is caused by the buildup of greenhouse gases in the atmosphere, which trap heat and cause the Earth's temperature to rise. This can lead to things like melting ice caps, rising sea levels, more extreme weather patterns, and even the extinction of some plant and animal species. So, what can we do about all of these problems? Well, there are actually lots of things that even kids like us can do to help protect the planet! One of the easiest things we can do is reduce, reuse, and recycle. This means cutting down on the amount of stuff we use and throw away, finding ways to reuse things instead of throwing them out, and recycling things like paper, plastic, and glass. By doing this, we can help to reduce waste and conserve natural resources. We can also save energy by turning off lights and electronics when we're not using them, taking shorter showers, and walking or riding our bikes instead of driving when we can. These smallactions can really add up and make a big difference in reducing our carbon footprint.Another way we can help is by planting trees and taking care of green spaces in our communities. Trees are amazing because they absorb carbon dioxide and produce oxygen, which helps to fight climate change and improve air quality. And finally, we can spread awareness and encourage others to take action too! We can talk to our friends and families about the importance of protecting the environment, participate in clean-up events or protests, and use our voices to call for change.I know it might seem like just one person can't make much of a difference, but if we all work together, we can create a big impact. Every little action counts, and it's up to us to take care of our planet for future generations. So let's all do our part, no matter how small it may seem. Turn off the lights when you leave a room, refuse single-use plastics, plant a tree, or just pick up litter when you see it. Together, we can create a cleaner, greener, and more sustainable world for everyone.Thank you all for listening, and let's get started on making a difference today!篇3Hi everyone! Today I want to talk to you about Unit 6 in our English textbook. This unit is all about food, recipes, and nutrition. As a kid, I used to think food was just something you ate when you were hungry. But there's actually a lot more to it than that! One of the first things we learned about in this unit is the food pyramid. The food pyramid shows us the different food groups and how much of each group we should eat every day to stay healthy. At the bottom of the pyramid, you have grains like bread, rice, and pasta. The next level up is fruits and veggies. Then you've got proteins like meat, eggs, and beans. After that is dairy products like milk, yogurt, and cheese. And right at the top of the pyramid are fats, oils and sweets - the stuff you're supposed to eat just a little bit of.When I first saw the food pyramid, I thought it looked really boring and confusing. Why can't we just eat candy and ice cream all day? That sounds way more fun! But then I learned about theimportance of getting a balanced diet with all the different nutrients our bodies need.Nutrients are like the building blocks that help our bodies grow and stay strong. There are six main nutrients we need to pay attention to:Carbohydrates - These give us energy! Grains, fruits, and veggies are excellent carb sources.Proteins - Proteins help build and repair our muscles, skin, and nails. We get proteins from meats, eggs, beans, and dairy.Fats - Our bodies need some healthy fats to function properly. Just don't overdo it on fried and junk foods!Vitamins - There are different vitamins that help different parts of our bodies. Vitamin A is great for eyes and skin, B vitamins give us energy, and Vitamin C boosts our immune system.Minerals - Minerals like calcium and iron are super important too. Calcium builds strong bones and iron helps our blood carry oxygen.Water - This one might seem obvious, but staying hydrated is crucial! Our bodies are made up of mostly water.Getting all these nutrients from a balanced diet helps keep us healthy and energized. But nutrition isn't just about eating the right foods - it's about developing good habits too. Like having meals at regular times, not skipping breakfast, drinking enough water, and limiting junk food. This unit also taught us about food culture around the world. It was really cool learning about signature dishes from different countries. I had no idea that fish and chips were such a classic British meal! Or that Italy is famous for pizza, pasta, and gelato. Who knew that sushi rolls originated in Japan? We also read about special food traditions and festivals celebrated globally. Like the Lunar New Year in China where families gather for a huge feast. Or the Indian festival of Holi where everyone throws colorful powder and eats sweet treats. And in America, they have this epic event called the Thanksgiving Dinner where people eat turkey, mashed potatoes, and pumpkin pie! Doesn't that sound delicious?Reading about all these international dishes made me want to be an adventurous eater and try new flavors. I used to be a really picky eater who wouldn't touch anything green on my plate. But now I'm much more open to tasting different cultural foods. You never know what might become your new favorite!Probably the most hands-on part of this unit was learning how to read and follow recipes. We analyzed the different components like the ingredient list, measurements, andstep-by-step instructions. Then we actually got to make some simple dishes right in our classroom kitchen! My group made banana bread, which seemed pretty easy at first. But we quickly learned that baking is an exact science. If you don't measure the ingredients properly or miss a step, it can totally ruin the whole thing. We may have gotten a little carried away with the chocolate chips, but our banana bread still turned out super moist and delicious!Other groups made dishes like guacamole, hummus, fruit salad, and even homemade pizza. Being able to eat the food we prepared was definitely the best part. It felt like such an accomplishment to make something from scratch all on our own.I think my favorite recipe from this unit was for chickenstir-fry. The hands-on steps of chopping veggies, marinating the chicken, and sautéing everything together were so fun. And the end result was this big, colorful, super tasty meal! I really impressed my family when I made it for them at home.An important lesson I took away from Unit 6 is being more aware of nutrition labels. Before this, I'll admit I never really paidattention to them. But now I know how to interpret all that small print about serving sizes, calories, fats, sugars, and vitamins. It's crazy to see just how much sugar gets crammed into some of my favorite snacks and cereals! And how many "empty calories" there are in junk foods that don't provide any real nutrients. From now on, I'll definitely be making smarterchoices about what I put into my body.Overall, this unit on food and nutrition was extremely valuable. I feel like I have a much better understanding now of the importance of balancing all the different food groups for a healthy lifestyle. I've expanded my palette and am excited to keep experimenting with recipes from around the globe. And most importantly, I'm motivated to develop positive eating habits early that will stick with me forever.Who knew learning about nutrition could be so fascinating and applicable to real life? This unit has given me such an appreciation for all the amazing foods out there. I can't wait to see what other fun topics we explore next in English class. But for now, I'll be over here snacking on some carrot sticks and dreaming about my next culinary adventure! Thanks for listening, everyone!篇4Hi everyone! Today I want to talk to you about Unit 6 in our 7th grade English textbook - it's all about sports and physical activities. As a kid, I love playing sports and being active, so this unit was really fun and interesting for me.One of the first things we learned about was different kinds of sports and activities. There are so many to choose from! We covered team sports like soccer, basketball, volleyball, and baseball. I really enjoy team sports because you get to work together with your friends and teammates. It teaches you about teamwork, communication, and supporting each other. We also learned about individual sports like swimming, running, gymnastics, and skating. With individual sports, you really have to motivate and push yourself. But they help you build self-discipline, focus, and personal drive. My favorite individual sport is probably skateboarding - I'm working on learning some tricks! Then there were outdoor activities like hiking, camping, rock climbing, and cycling. Getting outside and enjoying nature is so important. Outdoor activities help you stay fit while alsoconnecting with the beautiful world around us. I go hiking with my family sometimes and it's an amazing way to explore. We worked a lot on using action verbs to describe what people do in sports, like "dribble the basketball" or "serve the volleyball over the net." Using those vivid verbs makes it way more exciting and clear when you talk or write about sports. I tried to use them as much as I could on my unit test essay about my favorite sport.Another fun part was learning fun chants, cheers, and rhymes about sports and fitness. My favorite was the soccer cheer that goes "De-fense! De-fense! Can't be beat! Can't be beat! Go [team name]!" Getting into that team spirit is so fun, even if you're just cheering for your friends. You know what else I enjoyed? Learning about different nutritious foods and snacks that athlete's eat to stay energized and healthy. Things like fruits, veggies, whole grains, dairy products, and lean proteins. Making good food choices gives you more energy to perform your best in sports. I've tried to eat more healthy snacks before my soccer games. We also did some fun hands-on activities related to fitness and exercise. One day we made our own obstacle courses in the gym with cones, hula hoops, and jump ropes. Another time welearned some warm-up stretches and exercises you can do anywhere, without any equipment. My teacher brought in some guest speakers too, which was awesome. A tennis coach came and taught us the basic forehand and backhand swings. And a registered dietitian talked about creating balanced meals and snacks for active kids like us.Overall, this whole unit really motivated me to get out there and try new sports and activities. It's so important for kids to be physically active and develop habits that will keep us healthy for life. Sports build character too - through playing them you learn about persistence, bouncing back from failures, being a good winner and loser, and having fun while working hard.I'm definitely going to keep working on my soccer skills, but I also want to take a skating class to get better at that. Or maybe join a swimming team. There are so many amazing options to pick from! Whatever activities you choose, the key is to find some that you enjoy and stick with them. Get your friends and family involved too so you can encourage each other. So that's the scoop on our awesome Unit 6 all about sports and activities! I hope you all feel inspired to get out there, get active, and get playing. Don't be afraid to try new things - you never know what hidden talent you might discover. Justremember to practice, listen to your coaches, and always have fun! Thanks for listening, friends!篇5Hello everyone! Today I'll be talking about Unit 6 in our English textbook - it's all about sports and games. I really enjoyed learning about different sports from around the world in this unit.First up, we learned about cricket. Cricket is a super popular sport, especially in countries like India, Pakistan, England and Australia. It's kind of like baseball, but there are two teams with 11 players each. They use a flat bat to hit a small hard ball. The fielding team has to get the batters out by hitting the wickets behind them with the ball. The teams take turns batting and fielding. Cricket matches can go on for days!Another cool sport we read about is hurling. Hurling is kind of an Irish version of field hockey, but way more intense! The players use wooden sticks called hurleys to hit a small ball called a sliotar. They have to hit the sliotar through goals at either end of the field. But get this - the sliotar can travel at over 180 kilometers per hour! That's faster than a professional baseballpitcher. Ouch, I wouldn't want to get hit by one of those. Hurling is known as one of the most dangerous sports out there. We also learned about some traditional games from around the world. One that I thought was really interesting is sepak takraw from Southeast Asia. It's kind of like a mix of volleyball and soccer. Players have to kick or headbutt a rattan ball over a high net. But the crazy part is they can't use their hands or arms at all! The ball moves lightning fast. It takes crazy athleticism and coordination. I'm not sure I'd be any good at sepak takraw but it looks awesome.Another traditional game that was new to me is real tennis. No, not regular tennis - real tennis is this super old game that's kind of similar but played indoors. It originated way back in the 12th century! The court has weird slanting walls and the balls bounce in crazy ways after hitting them. Real tennis seems incredibly difficult and strategic. My personal favorite from the unit though is goalball. Goalball is a sport specifically designed for blind and visually impaired athletes. The players have to roll a ball with bells embedded in it towards the opposing team's goal. They have to use their other senses like hearing and feel to track the ball. What I love about goalball is how it levels the playing field and letspeople of all abilities participate in an elite sport. The goalball players' skills at following the sound of that bell are justmind-blowing.Along with learning about all those awesome sports, we also read some cool stories and did fun activities in Unit 6. Like making up our own brand new sports and games! Some of the ideas my classmates came up with were pretty wacky. Like "bungeeball" where you'd have to play basketball while attached to bungee cords. Or "aquacross" which was a mix of lacrosse and swimming. Hey, maybe those will be real sports one day!We also had to write about our own favorite sports and games. I wrote about my love for spikeball - it's kind of like a trampoline volleyball game. You have to bounce a ball off this little trampoline towards your opponents. Crazy coordination is needed. But it's so fun when you get a good rally going!Thinking back on Unit 6, there's just so much more I could talk about. Like how different sports bring communities together through teamwork and passion. Or the mind-blowing skills and abilities of the athletes we learned about - both able-bodied and disabled. This unit really opened my eyes to how many awesome sports there are out there beyond just the mainstream ones. Most of all though, Unit 6 got me excited to get out there and try some new sports and games for myself! Whether it's digging into more niche sports like real tennis or hurling, or even creating wacky made-up games with my friends, I just want to stay active and have fun. That's what sports and games are all about in the end, right? So those are my thoughts on Unit 6 - the sports and games edition. We covered so much cool stuff, from high-intensity games like hurling to strategic mind-benders like real tennis and goalball. I'm just grateful we have so many awesome options to stay fit and have fun, no matter our abilities. Here's to getting out there and playing! Thanks for listening, everyone.篇6Hello everyone! Today I'm going to talk about something really cool from my English textbook - Unit 6 on World Festivals and Celebrations! This unit has been so much fun to learn about.First, we learned about the festival of Holi in India. Can you imagine a party where everyone throws bright colored powders all over each other? That's what Holi is! It's called the Festival of Colors. People have fun dancing。
