First of all, I kind of supporthuman cloning because it seems like it has the potential of solving some real problems for people.B: Well.A: Person needs a heart transplant or liver transplant. If we could develop the technology that will allow the cloning of an organ from my own cells that would not be rejected. That seems a very good thing.B: Yeah. It would be good, but it's awfully expensive, isn't it?A: Well, that's the side of it that I find a little disturbing. And if we need spending that kind of resource on human cloning that may not really work down the road. And that's preventing spending money on things, like clean water or ...B: Social problems.A: Yeah, social problems.B: Help the poor ...A: Help the poor people. I agree that's one of the things that worries me. On the other hand, another thing that worries me about cloning is the possibility of ... Well, they talk about it's sort of a science fiction idea, but cloning complete human beings who are then, what kind of risks do they have, who are these people.B: I don't, I think you are talking about playing God and I just think that's going somewhere we shouldn't go.A: It does. It really worries me. But you know, these technologies, they,they have their strong points and they have their weak points. And I think all in all, we should pursue understanding. And so I like to see us go a little bit further in terms of understanding human cloning before we really come up with a decision.B: yeah. I don't think we know enough yet to say that it's a bad thing for sure.A: Huh. Well that's the conclusion I come up with.B: It's a good one.Unit7A: So tell me, you know, it seems to me that a year ago or so you were talking about Julie. Having met Julie? She really doesn't share all those interests that I do, like my sports, my racket ball, and I happen to like choral music, and she really can't stand choral music, you know, those kinds of things.
