Private Peaceful

The English said that they had Private Peaceful if The Little Prince can represented France. The name of this book attracted me the moment I saw it on the Internet. So I bought it and looked forward to its coming. When I received the express delivery, the tidy and succinct cover left a good impression on me. The cover is black and white. On the cover, there is a tree with luxuriant foliage. Under the tree lies the name of the book and the author. All of those black pictures and words lie peacefully on the white cover, just as the name “private peaceful”. The name reminds me of my sweet and colorful childhood. The simple style of writing and the plain temperament must warm you when you are holding it.
In the former part, the book deals with what Tommo thinks the childhood is like. The tune is light-hearted and colorful, which is as clean as the color of oranges and lemons. However, the later part become dignified and serious. Maybe the world of adults is more sophisticated or maybe the dame war makes it so. I hate every kind of war. One of the two sides in the war will win and the ruler of that side will get interests. But the common people of both two sides will get nothing more than suffering. History has proved it clearly.
From the point of outsiders, this family may be unlucky. Father died young, the biggest son is a fool, and they are so poor. There is no denying that the family lacks much thing, but the last thing the family will lack is love, or I can say never will this family lack love. The abundance of love
can make up for the lack of food, money and so on.
Father died young, so it is the mother’s love, justness and tolerance that prop up the whole family and the children’s growth. It reminds me of my mom. My mother gave birth to me after her two babies left her. My mother got a poor health after three parturitions. She farms as hard as other women. She always endures in silence when my father blame her for no reasons. I know my mother is doing this for me to give me a happy childhood, with parents’love wrapping me. My mother never tells me why my parents are older than others’ and that she is easy to get tired and weak. She shoulders all the burden raising me and running the house so that my father can work contentedly to bring home bread. I still remember the situation when my mother beat me the first time and when she told me to be a independent girl. After reading the book, I am more certain that parents’ love and parental control is the most important factor affecting children’s value and attitude towards life.
My favorite sentence in the book is, “I want to remember everything, just as it was, just as it happened”. This may sound a bit negative, but this is life. Let nature take its own course. Life is there, take it easy! Be as bright as the color of oranges and lemons!。
