试题紧跟教材，较好地全面考查考生对基础知识的掌握以及语用能力。
题量适中，试卷总长度与往年基本持平，没有偏题怪题和技术性错误，语言材料新颖、鲜活、地道，话题关注现实生活和时事，较好的体现了新课程标准和考试大纲的要求。
反映了试题的稳定与合理性的一面，这有利于考生真实水平的发挥。
但另一方面，试题也有意识地增加了新课程标准所要求的词汇量，试卷难度与往年相比也有较大程度的提高，这也反映了“求发展、求新意”的原则。
二、试题各部分分析、解题思路、复习策略、备考预测第一部分：听力2007年山东省高考英语试题听力部分材料选择是真实语境中的、多种口音的话语材料，并与学生实际听力水平相当。
主要考查了考生的下列技能：获取具体的、事实性信息（共15个题）；理解会话者的观点、态度或意图（共2个）；判断会话者之间的关系或会话的场合、背景（共1个）；对所听的内容判断或理解所给材料的主旨要义等（共2个）。
要求具备以下微技能：撇开非信息词，抓主旨大意；熟悉日期、价格、距离、倍数的表达及数字的读音；依据说话人语气语调去推理判断情感态度关系；快速辨别哪些是人名、地名及专有名词；快速记录最重要要点（速记）；快速抓住所要求获取的信息；等。
从听力试题看，这几年难度一直比较平稳。
其模式与全国卷一致。
山东省阅卷抽样调查结果显示听力平均分数是23.6分，难度系数为0.79，及格率为81.27%，优秀率为47%，能起到较好的开头作用。
其中的1，4，6，12，13等题目稍有难度，能起到一定的区分作用。
从第一题的正答率（48%）来看，考生的考试心理方面素质有待于提高。
