法国咖啡座的A56椅子
法国咖啡座的A56椅子到巴黎走走，少不了在塞纳河边的小咖啡馆坐下来喝杯咖啡，看看穿梭如织的行人，那你多半是会坐在一张叫做A56的金属椅子上，这把椅子是法国设计师让.博洽德（Jean Pauchard）1956年设计的，这把椅子出来后用到现在，一点都不过气，他设计的A56靠椅是设计中的经典作品。
由法国的TOLIX公司出品，多年以来，一直很畅销，成了法国咖啡馆的招牌象征。
这把椅子开始的考虑设计的时候，可能还是用镀锌工艺保护金属构件开始的，早年的金属家具经常锈蚀严重，而作为户外咖啡馆的椅子，需要结实耐用，金属自然是比较合适的材料，但是技术的腐蚀问题一直没有得到很好的解决，用油漆保护，油漆会脱落，最后锈迹斑斑的，既不耐用、也不好看。
1907年，法国人扎维.博洽德（Xavier Pauchard）看到金属构件经常锈蚀的这个问题，因此设法用镀锌方法来保卫金属产品的氧化过程。
构思就是这样来的。
我们现在的人对镀锌工艺恐怕已经比较陌生了，因为有更多的办法来解决金属氧化后腐蚀的问题，因为现在我们的材料多、工艺手段也多，比如用不锈钢、用合金、用复合材料制作家具都是很好的方法。
但是在20世纪初期，仅有几个金属选择，而金属基本都是铁，锈蚀肯定是大问题，而镀锌恐怕是针对铁结构的最好的保护方法。
加工方法也很简单，就是把结构完成的铁家具浸入融化的锌里面，镀锌的防锈蚀的效果非常好，因此在欧洲出现了一些镀锌工厂，其中在法国布垠地（Burgundy）的托利克斯（Tolix）工厂就是一个专业的镀锌厂，很多金属的家用品都拿到这里镀锌，镀锌之后家具、用品都闪闪发亮的，很好看，生意也就非常好，其中镀锌处理的家具中，最著名的是1934年的一把椅子。
这是老博洽德设计的，采用铁皮做支架和椅面、靠背，再镀锌防锈，色彩多是灰色的，叫做玛丽A椅子（Marais A Chair）很多人喜欢这样的镀锌椅子，不过这把椅子设计上比较笨重，到1956年，Xavier Pauchard的儿子让.博洽德对这把椅子的设计进行了修改，椅子变得雅致、修长，镀锌之后，非常典雅，设计的时候博洽德有几个设计的前提：第一，这把椅子就是设计给室外用的；第二，是给在户外长时间坐着喝咖啡的人设计的，因此要在角度上非常舒适；第三，要能够堆砌储存，方便小咖啡馆休业时候的堆放问题。
美式家具结构设计
3美式家具自身的形成和发展家具风格，尤其是英国和法国的风格传播到美国，对美国的影响很大。
许多移民随身带着家具去了美国，还有一些工匠也来到美国，到了那里以后开始制作家具。
虽然受到原来风格的影响，但是许多家具是在这块新大陆上就地取材做了为自己用的。
这种家具称之为殖民地家具和早期美国家具。
美国家具设计师邓肯·法夫的家具家喻户晓，他的家具风格以他的名字命名。
18世纪起的美国家具表明受欧洲的影响最大。
以下阐述这些美国家具的风格。
3.1殖民地和早期美国家具（Colonial and Early American Furniture，1620~1780）殖民地和早期美国家具可以称之为美国民俗家具（或乡村家具），它是在独立战争（the Revelutionary War）之前的殖民地生产的。
虽然工匠们受到英国和法国家具风格的影响，但是生活条件迫使他们生产简单的、功能性的家具。
本地的木材如枫木（maple）、胡桃木（walnut）和松木（pine）被大量应用。
椅子的座面是藤编或灯心草编的，椅背常做成梯子的格状（图35）。
搁板桌（trestle table）和长条凳（bench）用得十分普遍，同样简陋的衣橱（chest）和墙角餐橱（corner cupboards ）也是常见的家具。
两种有特色的美国家具是温莎椅（Windsor chair）（图36）和摇椅（rocking chair）（图37），它们属于早期美国家具（虽然温莎椅是从英国引进的，但是它在美国用得最普及）。
由莎克宗教派别（Shaker religious sect，也有人译作“震颤派”）生产的实木家具对这类家具的影响最大。
莎克派的家具工匠十分优秀，他们生产的家具比例合度，造型简洁（图38）。
许多正统的家具如顶盖床（canopy bed）在美国的独立战争前后也有生产。
现在，殖民地和早期美国家具常在市场上以一个统称“美国乡村式家具”出售。
3.2联邦式家具（Federal，1780~1830）联邦式家具是在美国成立联邦政府的早期出现的。

Use according to directions.Acid washing to remove grout residue or mineral deposits is an e ffe ctive cle aning me thod, if done prope rly. If incorre ct proce -dures or strong acid solutions are used, the damage to stone, tile and grout can be substantial. Grout will lose its color or become powdery or sandy. A strong acid solution will damage and dull the glazed finish on most ceramic tile, and also etch or pit the surface of unglazed tile and stone.Acid washing can be safely accomplished by using Aqua Mix ® Sulfamic Acid Crystals. Follow spe cific grout re comme ndations for acid washing. It is also e ffe ctive for concre te e tching; as a relatively mild acid, it does not emit toxic fumes. Sulfamic Acid Crystals can be used on tile or colored grouts, but should not be used on some types of natural stone such as polished marble or granite. The forms and materials I selected for this collection are elegant in their simplicity. The silhouettes are subtly familiar and historically evocative. The collection evolved beyond any specific period of time or trend to communicate a language of life experience. I believe this is true modernity. The materials are pure and serve as the foundation of the collection-oiled wood, hand blown glass, thickly layered lacquer, patinated metal, woven silk, wool, stone and thrown pottery. My intent was that the collection act as a richly balanced canvas on which the designer and client could paint something personal and unique.
