承办项目
香港会议展览中心曾作为多项世界性会议的主要会议 场地，除了1997年7月1日香港回归中国大典亦在此举 行外，其他包括1997年世界银行年会，2000年亚洲 电讯展等。2005年世界贸易组织部长级会议亦以香港 会议展览中心作主要场地。

The original building was built on reclaimed land off Gloucester Road in 1988. The glass curtain was the world's largest at the time, overlooking the Victoria Harbour on three sides. The second phase of the centre, located on an artificial island, was constructed from 1994 to 1997, and features a bird-like rooftop (also referred to as a turtle by some critics[who?]). The project took only 48 months from reclamation to completion. The main constructor of the extension was a joint venture named Hip Hing Construction Co Ltd Dragages et Travaux Publics. Originally, Phase Two was connected to Phase One with an atrium link (a sky bridge), and to Convention Road with two road bridges, but now the two phases are connected by an expanded exhibition hall.[2] The complex's construction was financed by New World Development, with the Renaissance Harbour View Hotel, Grand Hyatt Hong Kong and Harbour View Apartments on top of it. HKCEC made a second expansion during 20062009. Upon completion, the HK$1.4 billion expansion added 19,400 sqm to the HKCEC, bringing the total exhibition space to nearly 83,000 sqm and total rentable function space to over 92,000 sqm.
香港展城馆介绍
展城馆（英文：City Gallery），是以香港未来的城市规划与大型基础设施为主题的展览馆，由香港规划署负责筹办与管理[1]。
其前身于2002年7月3日启用的香港规划及基建展览馆，临时馆址一直位于香港中西区中环爱丁堡广场3号地下，直至2009年4月开始暂停开放，并且迁往美利道停车场大厦的临时馆址，以腾出空间为原址进行扩建，成为永久展馆。
扩建工程于2012年6月完成，于8月20日开幕，并且更改名称为展城馆，于8月20日起正式开放予公众参观。
沿革展城馆原址为耗资120万港元兴建的市政局大楼展览中心，于1997年12月至1999年12月31日期间免费开放，介绍市政局的发展历程。
市政局解散后，原址曾经被辟作食物环境卫生署办公室。
2002年，大楼地下层被更改兴建为香港规划及基建展览馆临时展馆，展览馆以上的1至4楼则为食物环境卫生署及酒牌局办公室。
永久展馆按照原来计划，爱丁堡广场馆址仅为临时展馆，永久展馆原定建于位于新的香港政府总部内，总建筑楼面面积约24,000平方米[2]。
但是由于立法会的各政党要求降低政府总部的发展密度，政府其后唯有删除了此计划[3][4]，退而求其次于原址扩建。
扩建计划中，永久展馆将会使用整座建筑物的5层，整个扩建计划耗资2.5亿港元，完成后将会可以提供近3,200平方米的总建筑楼面面积[5][6]，比起政府原定希望推出的方案大幅地缩减了近85%。
扩建工程于2009年展开，位于大会堂侧的原馆址于4月21日暂停开放。
工程期间香港规划及基建展览馆迁往美利道停车场大厦地下，于同年6月开放。
[7]扩建工程于2012年6月完成，并且于同年8月20日开幕，名称亦更改为展城馆，8月22日起正式开放予市民参观。
展览内容爱丁堡广场临时展馆位于大会堂侧的旧馆址（于2009年4月关闭）展馆位于中环爱丁堡广场3号地下，位于香港大会堂低座旁边，占地约460平方米，由The Oval Partnership设计，于2002年7月3日至2009年4月20日期间运作。

大楼东侧面由地下 到屋顶装上条形泛 光灯柱，层的气候都 由租户控制。大楼引入了先进的数字控制系 统，租户可以根据自己独立的需求来远程、 独立地个性化空调温度和运作时间。空调系 统能提供通风和冷却以及向周边区域供热， 并由金属天花遮掩。屋顶空间分配给租客自 己的空气调节装置。当太阳在天空中移动时 光滑的日光屏也让租户能改变自然光的量， 并在不使用时能小心地储存光能。大厦在 2005年根据香港建筑环境评 估法（新办公大楼设计）， 获评定为优秀级。

AIG Tower俯瞰维 多利亚港的壮观景色， 从北面的九龙半岛只 到南面的遮打花园及 山顶。在屋顶晚上有 强力探照灯将光柱投 向夜空，而大楼临美 利道的东侧分布着直 通向这屋顶的竖直的 鳍状物。
大厦二层为空中大堂，外墙由10 米高的玻璃墙， 垂直玻璃和金属爪结构组合而成。AIG Tower 楼高39层，每层写字楼的面积由1万4千平方呎至 1万8千平方呎，底净高3米，其中地面及一楼公 众行人通道高10.5米，二楼的空中花园大堂高 11米，大厦并包括两层地库停车场，14部客用升 降机分为两组，分别往高层及低层写字楼。
友邦金融中心（AIA Central）， 前称美国国际集团大厦（AIG Tower）， 位于香港中环干诺道中1号，前身是富丽华酒店，楼高39层，高度185米，完 成于2005年。
AIG Tower的设计灵感来自一艘中 国帆船，临海矗立。大厦一边外墙 竖立几支”桅杆”，杆子于晚上亮 起，并于杆顶设置射向天的灯光效 果，照耀晚空。而向海达的两边外 墙呈曲线轻微弯出好像帆船的帆， 配合地下大堂向凹入，营造船帆凌 空的感觉。乘风而行的帆船，象征 一帆风顺。 白天，帆船形象由它 高耸的船帆里面表达。幕墙上细部 的‘支柱’也加强了这个暗喻。到 了晚上，轻轻点亮建筑和加强‘皮 肤’透明度的独特灯光也启迪了人 心。整体设计成为为香港的壮观天 际线上的一个新地标和图标。
香港会议展览中心扩大项目
香港会议展览中心扩建项目香港会议展览中心扩建项目是一个受特殊地理环境及施工工期约束而完成的项目。
首先，项目横跨海岸边一期大楼和人工岛，施工场地天然制约且局促。
其次，项目从2007年施工至2008年十月要求交付使用，工期异常苛刻。
再次，项目由于自身的功能和环境要求，使得设计结构复杂程度相当高，带来施工的难度超出以往操作案例。
故此，该项目亦因其堪称史无前例的结构之复杂、工期之紧张、施工难度之艰巨、整体设计之完美而取得了2010年度香港最佳建筑优异奖。
背景香港贸易发展局鉴于当时(2007年)贸易展览竞争异常激烈并受到国内外如广东、澳门及新加坡等地区大举兴建展览场馆之威胁，故决定用最短时间扩建该展览场馆。
香港会议展览中心建筑由位于海岸边的一期大楼及位于人工岛上的二期大楼组成，两座大楼由悬吊人行通道连接，100米长悬吊人行通道飞跨海湾。
原有建筑（左侧：一期大楼，右侧：二期大楼）计划改建建筑是拆除现有悬吊人行通道，新建一座100米长120米宽、50米高的海湾上空建筑物，包括三层展览楼面、七层人行楼面，保证满足原有的地契条款，新建部分会展中心总建筑面积为50000平方米，展览面积为28000平方米。
新建建筑th Revised Circulation 扩建后新建建筑剖面建筑设计难度按照当局规划规定，海湾兴建交通道路枢纽网及地下铁路不容许有其它结构穿插其中，故100m大跨度结构中间不允许增设任何支柱。
100米海槽区因环保条例及其它建筑物的现有海水冷却空调系统需要保留。
新建建筑非常庞大，有三层展览楼面及七层人行楼面。
因展览场馆的独特性质，各展览层楼面均要求可行驶重型货柜货车，因而建筑自重及承载重量十分惊人。
加之展览场馆跨中不能增设柱子，，因而令此超大跨度建筑整体结构非常的复杂。
施工难度业主由于环保要求，提出保留现有悬空人行通道最底层楼面，并且要在施工期间保留该楼面作为连接二座大楼通道；在拆建该悬空人行通道前须另新建一条12米宽临时通道保持营运。

简介
香港会议展览中心位于香港湾仔的香港会议展览中心，是 香港区海边最新建筑群中的代表者之一。除了作大型会议及展 览用途之外，这里还有两间五星级酒店、办公大楼和豪华公寓 各一幢。而它的新翼则由填海扩建而成，内附大礼堂及大展厅 数个，分布于三层建筑之中，是世界最大的展览馆之一。
