晋级全国十强，成为年度最耀眼的十颗新星是所有参赛者的梦想。
然而，本文通过实证研究后发现部分选手比赛竞争力不强。
选手存在的共性问题包括英语语言素质不高；舞台表现力不强；自信心缺位等。
笔者就这一问题分析总结后对全国预选赛之大学成人组比赛各环节提出了竞争力提升技巧，以期对选手的参赛准备有所助益。

在中国改革开放不断深入及全球化背景下，中国与国际间交流的要求越来越高，演讲作为一种表达思想、成就目标、促进交流的重要手段受到各方关注。
一些极具影响力的机构与媒体每年都会定期以各种形式组织全国性的英语演讲比赛，如中央电视台“希望之星”英语风采大赛、“外研社杯”全国英语演讲比赛、“21世纪杯”全国英语演讲比赛等。
这些重要赛事不仅反映了一个地区的教育水平和人才素质，为全国英语爱好者搭建了激励英语学习、培养思辨能力、展现综合风采的舞台，还为国家架起了培养和发现高素质外语人才，增进国际交流的桥梁。
在全国主要英语演讲大赛中，中央电视台“希望之星”英语风采大赛因其自始至终的权威性、公正性及媒体特有的透明度、公信力引起各方的关注和推崇，吸引了无数英语演讲爱好者参与竞技，展示风采。
然而，每年在数以百万计的选手中，各组仅有10位能够最终走上中央电视台参加全国总决赛［2－3］。
由于比赛形式的固定性及参赛选手的共性，笔者将以大学成人组作为切入点，利用地缘优势主要举例研究云南赛区选手，通过总结参赛规律，调查赛区竞争力及比较选手表现对全国总决赛晋级必经阶段———全国①预选赛的各个环节进行分析并试提出可行的竞争力提升技巧，希望对选手的参赛准备有所裨益。
一、“希望之星”英语风采大赛（一）“希望之星”简介中央电视台“希望之星”英语风采大赛（以下简称“希望之星”）是唯一由中宣部、国家广电总局正式批准的、中央电视台主办的全国性电视英语竞赛活动。
它自2000年起每年举办一届，由著名英语教学专家陈琳教授为主任委员的专家委员会为大赛提供学术支持，外交部、教育部、团中央等部委对大赛提供相应支持。
大赛设置分为三个阶段：全国选拔赛（包括资格赛、县区初赛、地市复赛、省级半决赛和决赛）、全国预选赛和全国总决赛。
“希望之星”面向全国观众，选手涉及各行各业，以在校学生为主，进行分组比赛。
经过不断改革升级，大赛现设幼儿、小学低年级（1 3年级）、小学高年级（4 6年级）、初中、高中、大学成人6个组别［4－6］。
值得一提的是，大赛自成立以来影响人数超过9000万人［6］，而其中仅有不到900名新“星”晋级全国总决赛，概率不足十万分之一。
笔者所处的云南赛区成绩如何？以下将进行列表统计。
（二）近七年“希望之星”云南赛区选手成绩1.全国总决赛成绩全国总决赛在北京举行，由全国预选赛各组前10名选手（即全国十强）参加。
比赛形式不定，赛况全程录像，剪辑后在中央电视台播出。
自2008年以来的7年时间里，云南赛区共有6名选手晋级全国总决赛，见表1。

从表1可见，多年无“战果”的云南赛区选手终于在2012年打破沉寂，共4位选手闯入全国总决赛。
此次成就为云南赛区历史上晋级人数最多，覆盖组别最广，竞技成绩最好的一次，分别有1人获得了小学高年级组冠军和大学成人组亚军。
值得一提的是，在“希望之星”15年的发展历程中，这是第一次有云南选手摘冠，大学成人组云南选手更是第一次晋级全国十强。
79第2期李炜炜：英语演讲选手综合竞争力及其提升技巧研究①全国27个赛区分别为：安徽、北京、福建、广东、广西、贵州、海南、河北、河南、湖北、湖南、吉林、江苏、辽宁、宁夏、山东、山西、陕西、上海、深圳、四川、天津、新疆、云南、浙江、重庆、网络赛区。
在之后的2013和2014年，云南赛区选手再接再厉，分别有1位大学成人组和1位初中组选手闯入十强，实现了同一赛区连续三年有选手晋级全国总决赛的记录，这对于全国27个赛区①当中的任何一个都是很难实现的。
这是又一次历史的突破，是云南赛区英语教育水平提高，选手综合能力拓展和竞争力增强的有力显示。
然而，尽管近三年云南赛区选手在全国总决赛中崭露头角，成绩颇丰，且实现了历史性突破，但同所有赛区一样，当面对来自全国27个赛区，所有组别总共超过700名尖子选手时，要想在全国预选赛中闯入全国十强，赢得全国总决赛资格绝非易事。
由于组别多样，覆盖面广，笔者将重点列举云南赛区大学成人组选手在全国预选赛中的表现。
2.全国预选赛成绩全国预选赛在北京集中举行，由省级决赛各组前5名参加，比赛结束后每组前10名晋级全国总决赛。
通过统计研究的基本方法，笔者对云南赛区选手在全国预选赛之大学成人组比赛中的排名情况进行了统计调查与整理，以进一步研究选手竞争力状况。
然而，由于云南组委会变动和比赛组织等原因，笔者在长达半年的走访调查后仅收集到近三年的数据，具体如表2。

2013年报名人数126人，实际参赛126人。
2014年报名人数119人，实际参赛119人。
根据大赛规则，全国预选赛共设四个环节，成绩累加排序。
第一、二环节比赛结束后，成绩累加后前50名选手可进阶第三环节比赛，其余选手淘汰。
由此可知，全国预选赛排名50是一个分水岭，决定着选手是否具有相对较强的综合竞争力进入后续比赛。
